Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 362, Compared to Xiao Cui, Priests are Trash

Lu Fan obediently returned to his cabin, waiting in his room for the warship to dock.

In Lu Fan’s room, there was a window where he could see the scenery outside. So, even in his room, he could still see the harsh environment outside.

Soon, the warship had sailed near Shadow Isle, and the water outside the window had completely turned black like ink, while the waves churned as if caught in a storm.

Although there were countless waterspouts and whirlpools outside Shadow Isle, there was a route to enter through.

This route would naturally be marked in Andrei’s Mission Guide.

Even so, the warship had to sail with extreme caution as one mistake could lead to the ship’s destruction and loss of life.

Sometimes, Lu Fan could see the warship sailing slowly past huge waterspouts, several times nearly getting sucked in. It was extremely dangerous. Even a massive warship such as this one began to violently shake, impossible to keep stable.

If Lu Fan’s Attributes were not high enough, being on such a rocky ship would probably make him throw up his dinner.

After carefully sailing for a full day, the warship finally passed through Shadow Isle’s outer region, leaving behind the whirlpools, waterspouts and lightning strikes.

After about ten minutes, the warship reached shore and slowly stopped.

Outside Lu Fan’s room, someone knocked on the door, informing him that they had reached Shadow Isle, and that he could go out now.

Lu Fan left his room and came up to the deck.

Arriving here, the first thing he saw was an enormous island.

The island was vast, shrouded in black fog that made it impossible to see what was within. It also made it impossible to get the sense of scale of this place.

Because the black fog was so dense, sunlight could hardly penetrate through, making Shadow Isle appear even more gloomy and terrifying.

On the deck, many people had gradually begun to gather, including Ye Wuxian and Andrei among others, as well as some Third Profession Players.

After everyone had assembled, Andrei nodded, first looking at Lu Fan, and then pointing to Shadow Isle with a smile. “Brother Lu, this is Shadow Isle. According to my Mission Guide, the Shadow Spring Core should be at the centre of this island. Later I’ll lead the way, and we’ll carefully make our way through.”

After a pause, Andrei looked at the Third Profession Players who came along and asked in a low voice. “Although you said only Fourth Profession Players are needed to explore Shadow Isle, I still brought my followers. For this journey, are we really not taking them?”

Lu Fan nodded, not even looking at the Third Profession Players, saying. “No. Let them stay and watch the ship. I see the shadow mist isn’t too thick here. Everyone’s Attributes have yet to start decreasing at this location. So, this is the perfect spot for them to wait.”

As soon as Lu Fan finished speaking, the Demonic Feather behind Andrei said, somewhat displeased. “Leave everyone behind? That’s not appropriate. At the very least, we should bring Priests with us. After entering Shadow Isle, everyone will be affected by the shadow mist, and our Attributes will keep decreasing as time passes. Without Priests, if our Attributes keep falling, won’t we just be waiting for death?”

Lu Fan glanced at him and said. “We don’t need Priests. My Pet Dragon can basically function as a Priest.”

“Your Pet Dragon can function as a Priest!?” The three Fourth Profession Players under Andrei looked at each other, clearly finding it unbelievable.

They knew little about Lu Fan’s Pet Dragons. In their view, while Pet Dragons might have extraordinary Combat Power, their Support Capabilities was questionable. Could they really compare to the Priests they have on board?

Little did they know that compared to Xiao Cui, any Priest Type Profession was garbage.

Andrei actually did not know much about Xiao Cui either, but he completely trusts Lu Fan. Thus, with a wave of his hand, he declared. “Since Brother Lu had said as much, let’s do as he suggests.”

He turned to everyone and said. “For this journey, all of you stay on the ship and wait for our return, don’t move around randomly! As long as you don’t go ashore, the Monsters of Shadow Isle won’t attack you.”

“Brother Lu, Sister Ye, it’s about time, let’s set out.”

Lu Fan nodded, and everyone flew off the warship’s deck together, heading toward Shadow Isle.

Inside Shadow Isle, everything in sight was pitch black. The soil on the ground was black, the trees were black. It was like a world that had been splashed with ink.

Moreover, the shadow mist around was very thick. After walking just a few hundred metres, the warship behind them had vanished into the shadow mist, leaving no trace.

At this point, Andrei spoke up. “Brother Lu, from now on, we need to be careful.”

“The Monsters of Shadow Isle will lurk in the shadow mist, waiting for any opportunity to strike. You need to constantly pay attention to the warnings of this Demonic Feather guy beside me. If any Monsters approach, he’ll immediately alert us.”

“En.” Lu Fan nodded, not saying much.

Actually, Lu Fan’s Black Dragon Perception Passive was much more useful than the Demonic Feather’s Perception Skill. If the other party could sense Monsters approaching, Lu Fan could sense them too.

After walking for a while, everyone except Lu Fan had faint black gas lingering around their faces that would not disperse.

[Seems like they have already started getting affected by the shadow mist’s Debuff Effect. Their Attributes have been lowered.]

Lu Fan was not affected by it though. Since he was Immune to Debuffs, he naturally did not know how this Debuff felt.

Beside him, Ye Wuxian told him the Debuff Effect was still not that strong. Even so, her Attributes had already decreased by 5%.

Perhaps the further they walked, the faster their Attributes would decrease, but for now, there was not too much of an impact.

Lu Fan nodded, just about to say since they were now on Shadow Isle, he should summon his Baby Dragons just in case.

Just then, he sensed something and looked ahead.

“What is it? Monsters?” Ye Wuxian asked when she saw Lu Fan’s expression change.

Lu Fan nodded, but did not draw his weapon or summon his Pet Dragons.

Because the Demonic Feather in the team also sensed something after Lu Fan, and warned: “Everyone be careful, Monsters are coming.”

As he spoke, he drew his bow and aimed at the darkness ahead.

Magic energy swirled around his arrow, with cold air spreading outwards. This should be the Skill, Heavy Ice Arrow.

This Skill would deal Magic Damage, and could apply a Slow Effect to its targets. It was great for dealing with Shadow Isle’s Monsters.

It was clear from this that Andrei’s group had some experience fighting against Shadow Isle’s Monsters.

As the Demonic Feather’s arrow was released, it turned into a streak of light carrying cold air, precisely hitting the darkness two hundred metres away.

*Ding!* With a crisp sound of what seemed to be metal clashing, a huge figure gradually emerged from the shadow mist two hundred metres away.
