Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 377, Shadow Dragon General

Lu Fan paid special attention to the water. After all, Shadow Spring Water was one of the materials he needed.

[Is this the Shadow Spring Water I’m looking for?] After thinking for a moment, Lu Fan approached a waterway and took out a bottle he had prepared.

This bottle was specifically designed for collecting liquid materials. Filling it would yield one unit of material.

Lu Fan filled the bottle with the water and used Appraisal to check. Indeed, this material could be identified by the Appraisal skill.

However, this was not Shadow Spring Water, but rather Shadow Spring Water (Diluted).

The material description explained that while it was Shadow Spring Water, most of the shadow essence inside of it had evaporated, making it diluted.

Reading this, Lu Fan understood this bottle of Shadow Spring Water could not be used to craft the Shadow Dragon King Contract. To obtain the qualified Shadow Spring Water, he would need to collect it directly from the source.

Slightly disappointed, Lu Fan poured out the water and continued leading everyone deeper into the city.

Although this water could not be used, it at least gave Lu Fan hope that the Shadow Spring Core was nearby.

Inside the ancient city, the number of Monsters far exceeded those in the outskirts. The Monster Types here were also more diverse, including Shadow Sky Rippers, with most Monsters being around Level 95 Gold Grade Boss.

These Monsters were beyond what the Fourth Profession Players that Andrei brought could handle. Among the group, the main combat force was Lu Fan and Ye Wuxian. The other three Fourth Profession Players could only provide support from the sidelines.

They continued on like this and explored the vast ancient city, moving deeper inward. It took them a full day and a half to reach the inner city.

The inner city seemed designed to separate the Commoners from the Nobles, with imposing high walls segregating them, though they were equally torned.

Here, Lu Fan’s group encountered their third Boss Battle.

Guarding this place was the Shadow Dragon General, a Level 95 Diamond Grade Boss. Additionally, it had fifty Minions, each a Level 95 Gold Grade Boss.

Through Appraisal, the group learned that this Shadow Dragon General was once this kingdom’s top General, and also a Dragon Knight who had an Armoured Earth Dragon as his Mount.

Later, when catastrophe befell this kingdom and darkness enveloped the entire Shadow Isle, this so-called top General was affected by Black Shadow Matter, transforming from a Dragon Knight into a Shadow Dragon General. From then on, he guarded this place and prevented anyone from entering the inner city.

The Dragon Knight Profession was different from Dragon Tamer.

Dragon Tamer was considered a Summoner Type Profession, while Dragon Knight leaned more toward the Knight Type Profession. So their Profession Characteristics were vastly different.

However, the fact that this Shadow Dragon General once had an Armoured Earth Dragon as his Mount showed his extraordinary capabilities.

Now transformed into a Monster, he became a Level 95 Diamond Grade Boss, several times stronger than Bosses like the Demon General.

Unfortunately for him, he encountered Lu Fan, a Dragon Tamer.

Compared to Lu Fan’s six Pet Dragons, the Shadow Dragon General’s Armoured Earth Dragon Mount was unremarkable.

Lu Fan took the lead in battle, personally dueling the Shadow Dragon General while Ye Wuxian led the others in clearing the Minions.

Of course, even the Minions were fifty Level 95 Platinum Grade Bosses, giving Ye Wuxian and the others a hard time.

Lu Fan immediately sent Xiao Cui and Xiao Ye to join the battle, to help Ye Wuxian.

As for himself, riding the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon King was enough for him to deal with the Shadow Dragon General.

The Holy Dragon King’s Bone Wings provided the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon King with an additional 20% Attributes, making Lu Fan and the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon King’s Attributes reach the skies. They were more than capable of taking on a Level 95 Diamond Grade Boss.

Additionally, Bao Bao was bombarding from above, applying the Slow Effect of Lightning Chains to all Monsters, making the battle increasingly easier for everyone.

Finally, after about half an hour of fighting, all Monsters were cleared.

Naturally, Lu Fan naturally did not waste these Monsters. He turned them into Fallen Corpse Puppets and absorbed them, turning them into Attributes for the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon King.

However, since this Shadow Dragon General was quite powerful, Lu Fan kept him as a capable assistant.

Level 95 Diamond Grade Bosses were rare, and it would be wasteful to just convert him into Attributes.

A Shadow Dragon General like this could easily defeat Fourth Profession Players like Loong Xing. When Lu Fan reached the Western Border in the future, this Boss could come in useful.

After keeping the Shadow Dragon General, Lu Fan thought for a moment and decided to absorb the Demon General and other Bosses rather than keeping them.

Previously, Bosses like the Level 85 Diamond Grade Demon General had been a powerful asset for Lu Fan. But now, with his increase in strength, the Demon General and other Fallen Corpse Puppets had become less useful. Rather than keeping them, it was better to absorb them and only retain the strongest Fallen Corpse Puppets.

With Fallen Corpse Puppets, constant upgrading was necessary. There was no point in keeping those that had lost their utility.

After absorbing the Demon General and other Bosses, Lu Fan’s Puppet Sub-Space now only contained the Divine Bone Clone, Nine Hell Demons, Shadow Dragon General, and Five National Guardians – each capable of easily defeating Fourth Profession Players.

When stronger Bosses were acquired later, even the Five National Guardians would eventually get absorbed.

After all, the Five National Guardians were just ordinary Fourth Profession Players, and their level of Combat Power was gradually falling below Lu Fan’s standards.

If the three Fourth Profession Players accompanying Andrei knew of these thoughts, they would probably bash their heads against the wall in despair. Because compared to the Five National Guardians, they were far weaker. If Lu Fan looked down on even the Five National Guardians, one could imagine their standing in his eyes.

Despite being Fourth Profession Players, they did not even qualify to be Lu Fan’s followers – a severe insult to Fourth Profession Players like themselves. But what could they do about it?

After killing the Bosses here, the group rested for half a day before continuing into the inner city.

Though the inner city was similarly torned, the buildings were clearly more luxurious than the outer city. This was definitely where the Royal Family resided.

Now, however, the so-called Royal Family had all transformed into various Shadow Monsters, all killed by Lu Fan’s group as they progressed.

As they continued advancing, the group drew closer to the final destination indicated by Andrei’s Mission.

After another day of travel, they finally reached the deepest part of the inner city.

This was both the final destination indicated by Andrei’s Mission and the most torned up place in the entire Shadow Isle, as if the catastrophe that befell Shadow Isle had been triggered by something that had descended here.

Everything before them confirmed this point.
