Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 368, Assassin? Just a Target

“Wait. You didn’t notice it?” Lu Fan glanced at him, then pointed to the shadow mist ahead, “You can’t see that Monster either?”

The Demonic Feather widened his eyes, light flashing in them, clearly activating his Eagle Eye Skill.

After a moment, he shook his head, indicating he found nothing.

He even suspected Lu Fan was teasing him, claiming there was a Monster when there was not.

However, in the next second, a black spear suddenly thrust out from where Lu Fan had pointed at an extreme fast speed!

If Lu Fan had not warned everyone about the Monster there, someone might have been injured from this sudden attack.

But now, everyone was prepared, so this attack proved ineffective.

The Destroyer was quick to react, using Swift Dash to move forward, standing in front of everyone. Next, he swung his giant axe to deflect the spear.

Because this Monster had just attacked, it emerged from its Concealment state, revealing its true form.

It was the same type as the Monster Lu Fan had just killed, called a Shadow Thrower, a Level 90 Bronze Grade Boss.

Though it was a Boss, it was clearly only existing here as a Mob, without the usual presence a Boss Monster should have.

In other words, from here on out, there might no longer be any Elite Monsters. Instead, they would now all be Bosses.

This Monster’s Attributes were notably higher compared to the Monsters they had encountered before. But besides that, there was not anything particularly noteworthy about it.

The key issue was that the Demonic Feather’s Eagle Eye Skill could not see through its Concealment, which was horrendous news for the Fourth Profession Players.

What made the Shadow Isle’s Monsters so troublesome was their ability to hide in the shadow mist, always attacking at unpredictable moments.

Originally, they had a Fourth Profession Player who could see through Concealment, ensuring the group would not get ambushed by Monsters.

Now that even he could not see through the Monsters’ Concealment, how were they going to proceed?

Just as these Fourth Profession Players’ hearts sank, a lightning arrow flew out, precisely striking the Shadow Thrower.

Accompanied by the crackling sound of lightning, the Shadow Thrower was blown into black mist and had dissipated.

Lu Fan lowered his bow after shooting the arrow and said, “Might be because the Monsters’ Level has increased to be above 90. In other words, they are equivalent to Fourth Profession Players. That might be why your Eagle Eye Skill is no longer effective against them, and cannot break through their Concealment.”

The others nodded silently, agreeing with this explanation.

The Destroyer rested his giant axe on his shoulder and worriedly asked, “What should we do then? If we can’t see whether there are Monsters around, how can we explore further? The Monsters here all have really high Attacks. I can take a few hits, but Young Master Andrei and the others might not…”

“It’s fine.” Lu Fan said unconcerned, “Their Concealment Effect is useless against my eyes. Just keep the formation tight, and I’ll warn you immediately if I spot any Monsters.”

After a moment of silence, the three Fourth Profession Players spoke, with the Demonic Feather saying, “Sir Lu, I certainly believe you can see through their Concealment. But I would like to know how confident you are in not getting caught off guard by Higher Level Monsters? We’ve only covered less than a third of the distance to our destination. Going further, there will definitely be Higher Level Monsters. If the Monster’s Level suddenly increases such that even you can’t see through their Concealment, our whole team might suffer casualties. If you could barely detect the Monsters just now, I suggest we not proceed further.”

The others nodded silently, strongly agreeing with this suggestion.

Lu Fan knew the Demonic Feather was worried about Andrei’s safety, since among everyone present, Andrei was undoubtedly the weakest. If a Monster attacked, he would likely be instantly killed.

However, their concerns were unnecessary.

Lu Fan smiled and said. “Don’t worry, I don’t fight in battles I’m not confident about. You may not be able to spot them anymore, but I can still see them clearly. When I spot them, I’ll use my Skills to force them out, and you can just follow up by attacking.”

“Well…” the Demonic Feather still seemed unconvinced about Lu Fan’s ability to spot all the Monsters. He carefully asked again, “Sir Lu, are your Skills really that powerful? Can Level 90 and above Monsters truly not escape your eyes even when they’re using Concealment?”

Lu Fan nodded/ “Yes, I can see them crystal clear. Don’t worry. My Perception Skill isn’t related to Level. As long as there are invisible Monsters or people nearby, I can sense all of them.”

*Siii…* The Demonic Feather Payer drew in a sharp breath, finding it incredible, “In that case, Assassin Type Professions before you…”

“Are just targets.” Lu Fan said, “Even Fourth Profession Assassins, or even Fifth Profession Assassins, should be the same.”

At these words, not just the Demonic Feather, but the other two Fourth Profession Players were also shocked.

According to Lu Fan’s words, the Profession Characteristics that Assassins prided themselves on would be completely useless against him.

How godly must Lu Fan’s Perception Skill be!?

In fact, what Lu Fan possessed was just half of the Effect of Xiao Ye’s Black Dragon Perception. Though only half, it was enough for Lu Fan to sense the presence of all invisible units nearby.

Of course, this Passive Skill had certain limitations. For example, while Lu Fan could sense where Monsters were, he could not tell their exact details and Levels.

If Xiao Ye were here herself, sharing sensory information with Lu Fan, he would not only be able to clearly see all invisible units, but his sensing range would also double.

However, so far, on Shadow Isle, there was no need for Xiao Ye to take action. Lu Fan’s own senses were enough to handle the situation.

Because of his Black Dragon Perception, the group did not retreat but continued exploring, though they moved slower for safety since they had lost their ‘eyes’ – the Demonic Feather’s Eagle Eye.

Moreover, the Monsters they encountered were now all above Level 90, which significantly increased the pressure they felt.

The group continued for most of the day, covering about two-thirds of the route.

Soon, the view before them suddenly opened up as they emerged from the black forest, officially reaching the central area of Shadow Isle.

“Wow…” Andrei exclaimed in amazement at the sight before him.
