Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 381, Mission Rewards – Lu Fan Takes the Lion’s Share

Translator: Silavin

Lu Fan’s Spatial Awareness, which was improved upon by Xiao Ye’s Black Dragon Perception, may not completely reveal all hidden entities. However, he could at least detect Concealed ones.

After the Shadow Dragon Human King entered Concealment, Lu Fan completely lost his perception of him, as if he had truly vanished.

Lu Fan had briefly reviewed the Shadow Dragon Human King’s Skills, but had not seen anything like Dragon Domain, which would allow him to hide in another space.

There was only one explanation. The opponent’s Concealment was simply too extraordinary, making it difficult even for his Black Dragon Perception to detect.

While alarmed, Lu Fab had suddenly received a message from Xiao Ye through their spiritual connection.

Understanding what she was saying, he immediately shouted to Andrei. “Quick, use your Defense Skills and keep your distance!”

Simultaneously, he guided the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon King to turn around and charge toward Andrei.

Xiao Ye’s Black Dragon Perception had not completely lost track of the Shadow Dragon Human King, she could still detect the Boss’s presence, even noticing that his target was clearly Andrei in the blacklines.

Generally speaking, the backlines consisted of Support Specialised Profession like Priest. If a Boss was intelligent enough, targeting the backlines made perfect sense.

Though Andrei did not have a Support Specialised Profession, his Level and the threat he posed was too low. Once targeted by the Shadow Dragon Human King, escape would be impossible.

Therefore, when Xiao Ye informed Lu Fan that the Boss was going to attack Andrei, Lu Fan immediately moved to provide support.

At the same time, under Lu Fan’s control, Andrei’s two Mirror Image Projections also leaped up, protecting the original, while the nearby Xiao Cui prepared to provide shields at any moment.

Andrei reacted equally quickly, his body burning with flames that formed a barrier, helping him negate some Damage.

Almost as soon as Andrei was covered, and activated his Defensive Skills, swords that seemed to be made of black light surrounded Andrei, frantically slashing at him.

In an instant, the ground where Andrei stood shattered, and the Jade Shield on both him and his Mirror Image Projections was destroyed by countless strikes, almost instantly depleted.

However, Xiao Cui’s Jade Shield renewal was precise – when nearly all thirty shields around Andrei and his Mirror Image Projections were broken, she applied another layer of Jade Shield, preventing him from being cut into bits by the black light.

It was precisely the opening bought by Xiao Cui’s Jade Shield that allowed Lu Fan to charge over using Void Break and Extreme Speed Assault, ramming toward the position Xiao Ye had indicated.

Lu Fan rode the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon King like a stream of light, passing over Andrei’s head. With a muffled *bang*, he successfully knocked the Shadow Dragon Human King out of hiding within the shadow mist.

The Shadow Dragon Human King was sent flying, repeatedly making contact with Bao Bao’s Lightning Boundary. Sparks bursting from his body, while Lightning Chain wrapped around him, somewhat reducing his speed.

After knocking away the Shadow Dragon Human King, Lu Fan did not rush in pursuit. Instead, he turned to check on Andrei, calling out to him, “Brother, are you alright?”

Andrei’s two Mirror Image Projections were slowly dissolving, clearly showing that even Xiao Cui’s newly applied Jade Shield had not completely blocked the Shadow Dragon Human King’s attack. Those attacks shattered the new shields and had managed to deal some Damage.

Fortunately, Andrei had been protected by his two Mirror Image Projections. Though he now had several bone-deep wounds on his chest that left his face pale, he was not in mortal danger. He forced a smile at Lu Fan and said through gritted teeth. “Thankfully, your Little Green Dragon’s shield came in time. Otherwise, I would have lost my life here.”

“Good that you’re safe!” Lu Fan sighed in relief, while looking toward the Shadow Dragon Human King as he stabilized himself in mid-air.

At this point, though the Shadow Dragon Human King had Lightning Chain Effects on him, they were not stacked enough to significantly slow him down.

Moreover, the Shadow Dragon Human King’s form was showing signs of dissipating again, clearly about to enter his Concealment state to launch sudden attacks on everyone present.

Among all present, only Xiao Ye and the Dragons could see through the Shadow Dragon Human King’s Concealment.

Even though Lu Fan could maintain spiritual connection with Xiao Ye, and constantly knew of the opponent’s position, he would always be a step behind.

This might work with ordinary Monsters, but the Shadow Dragon Human King’s Agility was so high that being one step behind meant Lu Fan’s attacks would always be dodged.

Most importantly, if this Boss attacked others like before, everyone present, except for Lu Fan, would be in mortal danger.

Such an Assassin Type Boss was truly troublesome.

If another team came to kill the Shadow Dragon Human King, even if they could defeat him, they would certainly pay a high price.

Unfortunately for the Shadow Dragon Human King, he had to face Lu Fan as his opponent.

Since the Shadow Dragon Human King was of great threat to the others, Lu Fan would have to prevent him from ever getting close to them.

“Wait here. I’ll kill the Boss myself!” Lu Fan said before ordering Xiao Cui to maintain Dragon Domain, and drew the Shadow Dragon Human King into it.

With a light cry from Xiao Cui, all the Pet Dragons and Lu Fan, as well as the Shadow Dragon Human King, vanished.

Everything around returned to silence, leaving Andrei and others confused about where Lu Fan and the Boss had gone.

“Sister-in-law, where did Brother Lu go?” Andrei approached Ye Wuxian to ask when he saw no danger around.

Ye Wuxian put away her Heaven Incinerator and said. “He probably used some Skill to take the Boss with him to an independent space to fight in.”

“I suppose he originally wanted us to fight the Boss together, to kill the Boss quickly. But this Boss was too hard to contain, so he had to go kill it himself to prevent casualties among us.”

“I see…” Andrei nodded, his expression very apologetic. “I thought bringing three Combat Specialised Fourth Profession Players would help Brother Lu a lot on Shadow Isle. But throughout our whole journey, we had to rely on Brother Lu to reach this point. Now, even at the Final Boss fight, we can’t even contribute. Instead, we all are just burdens to him.”

“Hehe,” Ye Wuxian smiled cutely and said, “It’s not your fault. Lu Fan is just too strong, everyone seems like a burden before him. If you feel Lu Fan contributed a lot along the way, just give him more of the Mission Reward when we receive it.”

If Lu Fan were here, he would definitely say, ‘Senior Sister is always so thoughtful, negotiating with Andrei for my share at a time like this.’

Andrei was not stingy either, knowing that Lu Fan had done the most throughout the journey, killing Monsters and providing Buffs to everyone. Without any hesitation, he patted his chest and declared. “Of course! When we get the Mission Rewards, Brother Lu will take the lion’s share, I’ll just take what’s left!”
