Chapter 200, Preparing for Battle in the Underworld

Lu Fan nodded, controlling Xiao Ye to hover in mid-air, and said. “The area ahead is called the Fallen Corpse Ruin. There are no Monsters there. But, in the depths of the Fallen Corpse Ruin, I saw something very strange…”

Lu Fan described what he had just seen, making Lui Fei and the others feel chills down their spines.

A mysterious huge coffin, three chains, and a black shadow that could not be identified, even forcing Lu Fan to retreat.

This area called Fallen Corpse Ruin was really too bizarre.

Lui Fei pondered for a moment and immediately decided that the area ahead absolutely could not be explored.

Any Griffin Legion member entering it would only be throwing their life away, with no way to carry out any exploration Mission. Moreover, they had almost consumed all their supplies this time, so they decided to head back and report the situation here to Tu Jing.

While waiting for Lu Fan, everyone had already set up an outpost. So, without any delay, they opened a Teleportation Scroll and left the place, returning back to camp.

After returning, Lui Fei told Lu Fan that since they had reached the end of their exploration route and could not continue, they could now claim the Military Merits for the explored route.

Moreover, they had collected quite a few materials along the way.

These materials had all been exchanged for Military Merits by Shen Cai, mostly recorded under Lu Fan’s name.

Lu Fan could also go to the military supply department to withdraw these Military Merits.

Lu Fan thought for a moment and decided to go with Lui Fei and the others to the military supply department to withdraw all the stored points.

Lui Fei and the others were still Bronze Wing, with no change. But Lu Fan’s medal, to everyone’s shock, changed again, becoming Silver Wing.

Such a rapid promotion speed made Lui Fei and the others envious. They also marvelled at how Lu Fan was truly a young man with great potential.

It was worth noting that among the roughly 500 people in the entire camp, less than 20 had Silver Wing Medals.

In other words, if Lu Fan was an official member of the Griffin Legion, he would now be considered a high-ranking officer in this military camp, and Lui Fei and the others would have to follow Lu Fan’s orders.

It could be said that Lu Fan was the fastest person to reach Silver Wing that Lui Fei knew of, bar none.

Without war, no one could achieve a double promotion from Iron Wing to Silver Wing in just one month.

If Lu Fan officially joined the Griffin Legion, what would happen in the future? He might become the youngest Gold Wing before turning 20!

Lu Fan was not particularly excited about getting the Silver Wing medal though. After all, he was not a member of the Griffin Legion. This medal was just for recording Military Merits. As long as he reached Bronze Wing and completed the task Tu Jing assigned to him, everything else did not really matter.

Whether it was Bronze Wing, Silver Wing, or Iron Wing, they made no difference to him.

After collecting all the Military Merits, Lu Fan, representing their 13th Exploration Squad, went to find Tu Jing to report about the Fallen Corpse Ruin.

After hearing the report, Tu Jing took Lu Fan’s discovery very seriously.

He immediately called his adjutant to record the scene Lu Fan described and send it to the scholars in Dragon Capital for research. At the same time, he also ordered the cancellation of all exploration routes that might pass through the Fallen Corpse Ruin.

In the future, whenever encountering an ice lake suspected to be the Fallen Corpse Ruin, they should record the coordinates and return immediately. Absolutely no one was allowed to set foot in it.

For now, the Fallen Corpse Ruin were to be treated as a Forbidden Area, and exploration Missions must all avoid it.

As for when they would actually explore this Forbidden Area, that was not something Lu Fan needed to worry about.

Lu Fan believed Tu Jing would team up with all the top experts in Dragon Country to go to the Fallen Corpse Ruin in the future, to see if they could uncover any secrets about the Ancient Gods.

This way, Lu Fan had perfectly completed an exploration Mission. His Silver Wing Medal particularly delighted Tu Jing, who said that he had indeed underestimated Lu Fan before. He even mentioned how he had not expected him to perform so exceptionally well in this military camp.

This trip to the Far North was extremely fruitful for Lu Fan. Not to mention obtaining the Blue Dragon King’s Dragon Egg, just Xiao Ye entering her Maturing Period and being able to be ridden, and the Flying Dragon Kings being upgrading to Fallen Corpse Magic Dragons, these two points alone doubled Lu Fan’s Combat Power.

Moreover, Lu Fan had indeed learned a lot from Lui Fei and the others in this more than half a month or so.

Now, he was confident in surviving in any Wilderness environment.

This made Lu Fan more confident about the National Trial Secret Realm.

With about four days left until the opening of the National Trial Secret Realm, Tu Jing did not assign any other tasks to Lu Fan. Instead, he gave Lu Fan a thick stack of materials, telling him to carefully read through these materials in the study room over the next few days.

Lu Fan took them and looked, finding that these were all records about the representatives from the other 22 countries.

Tu Jing had used every means possible to collect information on these Players. He had compiled them, and given them to Lu Fan to read, so that he could have a clearer understanding of the opponents he was about to face.

Although Lu Fan knew that whether he read these materials or not, he would likely still dominate the National Trial with overwhelming strength. However, he kept a humble attitude and still took these materials, obediently taking them back to study.

…

Meanwhile, in the Wilderness of Extremistis Country.

For hundreds of kilometres around, all Monsters had turned into dismembered flesh and chunks, dying in miserable states.

All around, black mist permeated. It was like Hell on Earth.

Jin Chenghan, holding his staff, strolled among it.

Beside him were Jin Zhu and Chen Tianzhi.

The latter two had never experienced such a Hellish scene before, and their faces were somewhat pale.

Only Jin Chenghan had a sickly smile on his face, seemingly long accustomed to everything around him.

In the black mist surrounding the three, one could vaguely see the silhouettes of Summons of various sizes moving through the mist. Each one looked very Underworld-like, no less than the Abyss Crawler.

These Summons, under the cover of the black mist, were searching for any living beings to hunt and devour, seemingly accumulating strength for themselves.

Some Summons even set their sights on Jin Zhu and Chen Tianzhi. The occasional cold feeling from behind made Chen Tianzhi and Jin Zhu’s hair stand on end.

Even though they knew they would not be in any danger with Jin Chenghan here, every step the two took was filled with trepidation.

This outing was for Jin Chenghan, to make final preparations for the National Trial. It was to let all his Summons eat enough flesh and blood, and absorb enough Life Essence to strengthen themselves.

Jin Chenghan’s Summons were from the Abyss, as long as they devoured enough Life Essence, they could continuously increase in number, giving Jin Chenghan more trump cards to save his life.

Along the way, Jin Chenghan had led these Summons to slaughter countless Monsters, not sparing even Non-Actively Hostile Monsters.

As long as it was within the range covered by the black mist, absolutely no living being would be left.

Suddenly, Chen Tianzhi saw several small wooden cabins appear ahead.

Although this was the Wilderness, there were relatively rich timber resources nearby, so it was normal for Lifestyle Specialised Profession Players to temporarily settle here, cut down trees, and send them to nearby cities for sale.

The commotion here seemed to have reached the cabins, causing several people to walk out.

Among the crowd were three to five men with sturdy builds, probably the lumberjacks living here.

Some lumberjacks had brought their Wives and Kids to live here too, so Chen Tianzhi also saw several women holding children.

These people, looking at the black mist surging towards them like a sandstorm, were obviously panicking, not knowing what was happening, whether or not some Monster was invading.
