Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 186, The Power of the Silver Dragon Rider

Translator: Silavin

A single Dragon Saddle allowed Lu Fan to directly possess the power of the Dragon Race!

At the same time, the spiritual connection between Lu Fan and Xiao Ye became even stronger. Lu Fan even had an illusion that he and Xiao Ye had almost become one, making it even easier to command her.

Almost without any command from Lu Fan, with just a thought, Xiao Ye had already Soared into the sky!

Accompanied by a great gust of wind, Lu Fan rode Xiao Ye into the sky, circling and gliding in mid-air.

Although Xiao Ye was massive, she was extremely fast. At full speed, she would be at least ten times faster than the Griffins of Lui Fei and the others.

So, even though they just casually flew a circle, Xiao Ye was so fast that she only left afterimages in the air, startling Lui Fei and the others.

Seeing Lu Fan able to ride a real Giant Dragon, Knights like Lui Fei and Lu Changkong had envy and jealousy in their eyes that almost solidified. After all, the ultimate dream of Knights had been easily realised by Lu Fan.

After experiencing the feeling of riding a Giant Dragon, Lu Fan quickly mastered this marvellous state. In just a few minutes, he was already able to do some high-difficulty manoeuvres with Xiao Ye in mid-air.

It could be said that when riding Xiao Ye, Lu Fan’s Agility was no less than when using the Flying Dragon King’s Bone Wings.

In the future, unless Lu Fan did not want to expose his Pet Dragon while needing to fly, he would not need Soaring from the Flying Dragon King’s Bone Wings.

Of course, the Dragon Language Unsealing Additional Skill in the Flying Dragon King’s Bone Wings was still overpowered, so Lu Fan naturally would not easily unequip them.

After familiarising himself with riding a Dragon in the air, Lu Fan also took out his Black Dragon Scale Greatsword.

Holding the weapon, Lu Fan clearly felt a powerful force surging within him in his Riding State. This power came from the Dragon Saddle, as if the Dragon Saddle had extracted the Dragon Power from Xiao Ye’s body and infused it into Lu Fan.

With a casual swing of his sword, this power seemed to find an outlet, gushing out frantically along Lu Fan’s slash. Instantly, a blade of strong wind flew out from the sword edge, sweeping across the sky for nearly a hundred metres before finally landing on the ground.

*Boom!* After a thunderous explosion, snow flew and ice shattered. A twenty metres long and five to six metres deep gap appeared on the ground, making Lui Fei and the others’ heart skip a beat.

It was just a casual swing from Lu Fan, yet its power was more terrifying than when they released their Skills!

With this slash, unless Lu Changkong activated the Invulnerability of Holy Light Shield, none of the three could withstand it. They would be directly cleaved apart along with their Mounts!

[Is this what a Silver Dragon Rider is? Isn’t this Profession just too overpowered!?]

Little did they know that this slash was only the result of Lu Fan using thirty percent of his strength.

Now, in the Riding State, Lu Fan’s Strength Attribute has broken through ten thousand!

With such terrifying Strength Attribute, Lu Fan could definitely be considered a ‘Humanoid Tyrannosaurus’ with ‘Dragon Power’. If he attacked with full force, breaking the ice layer below, of a depth of tens of metres, would not be a problem.

This power was definitely comparable to Lu Fan’s killing move of Summon Divine Arrow + Shatter Star + Serpent’s Hidden Arrow in his Non-Riding State.

With this attack, Lu Fan got a general understanding of his Compat Power in his Riding State.

The Dragon Saddle allowed his attacks to carry Dragon Qi, enabling him to release Range Attacks. The power of the attack was demonstrated just now, as for the attack distance, it was about 200 metres. If he attacked with full force, the attack distance should be even further, probably reaching a range of a kilometre.

In other words, when Lu Fan rode on Xiao Ye and flew at low altitudes below 1000 metres, he could attack enemies on the ground with slashes alone, performing aerial strikes.

Now, when Lu Fan rode on Xiao Ye and circled in the air, each sword swing could send down a tremendously powerful slash. If the opponent was a Player or Monster without the ability to fly, they would be sitting ducks, bursting into tears on the spot.

As for places further away, where his Dragon Qi would not be able to reach, he could still use Dragon Language Magic or Underworld Serpent’s Cry.

It was easy to imagine that with Lu Fan and Xiao Ye’s Attributes now stacked and mutually boosting each other, the power of both Dragon Language Magic and Underworld Serpent’s Cry’s attacks would undergo earth-shattering changes compared to before.

After getting a general understanding of his power in his Riding State, Lu Fan did not continue experimenting. Instead, he put away the Black Dragon Scale Greatsword and rode on Xiao Ye back to their original position.

As Xiao Ye approached, although the Sky Mounts of Lui Fei and the others had long been accustomed to this enormous creature, they still could not help but tremble every time Xiao Ye came near.

There was no helping it. The pressure from the Dragon Race’s superiority was deeply ingrained into them. Even when they knew this Black Dragon was their companion, they could not possibly control fear.

Lui Fei and the others were already used to this. At this moment, how could they have the mind to care about their trembling Mounts beneath them? They were too shocked by the strength displayed by Lu Fan and Xiao Ye.

They did not know about Xiao Ye’s Attributes, but they knew the effect of the Dragon Saddle. They thus knew that Lu Fan now possessed the Attributes of the Dragon Race. Otherwise, that casual sword swing would not have been so imposing.

Having a Pet Dragon was already enough to make people jealous, but Lu Fan had also become a Dragon Knight with power rivalling that of a Giant Dragon.

Shen Cai was not a Knight so it was fine, but Lui Fei and Lu Changkong looked at Lu Fan with envy and jealousy.

Lu Changkong patted his face and sourly stated, “Lu Fan was already strong enough, and now in his Riding State, he can gain all the Attributes of his Mount. We’re all Knights, how can the gap between us be so wide? I always thought that I, who was among the top ten in the city during my major exam, was great. Not only had I managed to enter Dragon Capital University but I had also become a Noble Class Student through my own efforts. After graduating as a Noble Class Student, I joined the army, struggled for ten years, and was selected into the Griffin Legion. My resume should be considered top amongst many, enough for me to be proud for a lifetime. In terms of strength, I should be able to instantly kill 95% of people my age. Yet, compared to Lu Fan, my Junior, I realise that I’m still considered trash… What sin did I commit to be assigned to the same squad as you, Lu Fan, for this Mission. You’ve truly shattered my pride into pieces.”

Although these words were complaints jokingly made by the talkative Lu Changkong, were they not him expressing his true feelings?

People who could enter the Griffin Legion were all elites among elites. But compared to Lu Fan, they were directly left hundreds of streets behind.

For those who were quite proud of being in the Griffin Legion, this was a huge blow to their ego.

Shen Cai glanced at Lu Changkong and, surprisingly, smiled a little, saying, “Actually, think on the bright side. At least you can last ten seconds against Lu Fan without losing. While Captain Lui, as a Divine Punishment Knight, doesn’t even have the Holy Light Shield Skill. He would not be able to even last for ten seconds. Doesn’t this indirectly mean you’re stronger than him?”

As soon as these words were spoken, Lui Fei’s face immediately fell, and Lu Changkong was also caught between laughter and tears: “Thank you very much. You really know how to comfort me.”

The others laughed.

They were jealous of Lu Fan, but on the other hand, with Lu Fan becoming stronger, were they not, as Lu Fan’s teammates, also benefiting from it?

Not to mention anything else, the exploration speed of the group here could probably be increased yet again, and they could also gain more Military Merits.

Originally, Lu Fan wanted to continue exploring forward with everyone. Because, although they were exploring very quickly, there was still a long distance to the Divine Grade Treasure Map coordinates.

Lu Fan wanted to claim the Treasure Map before leaving the Far North, so he would have no more lingering thoughts about it.

However, Lui Fei did not agree to continue advancing. The environment where they were had changed compared to when they first arrived. The sky, which was originally clear, had been overcast for the past two days, and they could no longer see the starry sky when looking up.

At the same time, the cold wind became fiercer, snowflakes gradually began to fall, and the wind and snow intensified as the group advanced.

Lui Fei said this was actually normal. In the Far North, there were two types of weather. One was like before, clear days where one could see the starry sky. The other was extreme blizzards.

During blizzards, the temperature would plummet to about minus 100 degrees Celsius, with wind and snow intertwined. Each snowflake was like a knife. Although they would not hurt them, travelling in the wind and snow would be extremely uncomfortable.

More importantly, once entering a blizzard, although the Attributes of the Monsters in the Far North did not change, their Combat Power would be enhanced to some extent due to environmental influence.

For example, the Ice Plain Yetis from before. If it was a clear day, Lui Fei could fight three of them if he encountered them. However, if in a blizzard, the Ice Plain Yetis’ strength would increase, and Lui Fei would be restricted by the wind and snow, making him no match for three Ice Plain Yetis.

In addition, a mysterious Monster existing in the Far North – Snow Women – would also appear along with the blizzard.

They were numerous and extremely dangerous.

The so-called ‘Snow Women’ were Level 85 Elite Monsters that looked like giant moths. On normal days, they could not be seen in the Far North. It was only during blizzards that these Monsters would appear in large numbers.

They were like Gamelyons, able to become Concealed in the blizzard. The heavier the wind and snow, the stronger their Concealed State.

It was even possible for these Monsters to come up to a Player’s side without them knowing, and perch on their back. Once so close, they could bite into their neck, and suck out all their blood, turning them into a dried corpse.

When the Griffin Legion first came to the Far North, as many as forty people were ambushed and killed by Snow Women under the blizzard. Later, the Griffin Legion reached a consensus that during blizzards, all exploration Missions would be halted, and everyone must return to the camp.
