Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 187, Snow Women? With Lu Fan Here!

Translator: Silavin

This was one of the most important reasons why the Griffin Legion’s exploration Missions progressed so slowly. No one could say for sure how long the blizzard would last, and those of the Griffin Legion could only carry out exploration Missions when the weather was clear.

Sometimes, in a month, there might only be four or five days without blizzards, which were the only time they could go out on Missions. As a result, the exploration progress was naturally slow.

After a full year, the Griffin Legion still had not explored the whole body of this enormous creature beneath their feet. Thus, they still had no clue what it actually looked like.

When they first set foot here, Lui Fei had estimated based on his experience with blizzards, it would arrive in four days.

Now that four days had passed, the blizzard had arrived as expected.

Currently, the weather was gloomy, with snowflakes already falling. It was estimated that in half a day, the blizzard would truly arrive. By then, the Monsters here would become even more powerful, and the Snow Women would be seen everywhere. The entire Far North would definitely be considered a Forbidden Zone at that point.

Therefore, Lui Fei suggested that they, who had already explored more than what they needed for this exploration Mission, set up an outpost. Everyone should return to the camp to rest and recuperate. They could come out for the Mission again when the weather cleared up.

After hearing Lui Fei’s suggestion, Lu Fan asked him when they would be able to come out and continue the exploration Mission if they returned to the camp this time.

Lui Fei replied that he could not give a true estimate. Based on his own experience, he could roughly guess when the next blizzard would arrive. However, he could not tell when the blizzard would stop.

According to his past experiences, it could be as short as four or five days, or as long as one or two months.

Hearing this, Lu Fan felt anxious. According to the original exploration progress, it would take about twenty days to reach the coordinates of the Divine Grade Treasure Map. If they were to be delayed for ten days or half a month due to the blizzard, he would not get the chance to claim his Treasure Map even if he remained here all the way until the National Trial Secret Realm opens.

Therefore, Lu Fan knew, even when the blizzard was here, he could not return to camp.

Thinking of this, Lu Fan explained to Lui Fei, “Brother Lui, I think even if the blizzard comes, it won’t hinder our exploration progress. If I remember correctly, Sister Shen should still have plenty of food. Why don’t we continue exploring for a few more days and return when we’ve depleted our supplies?”

“You want to continue explorating while in the blizzard?” Lui Fei’s brows furrowed upon hearing this. “That’s not possible. Although you’re very strong, once we enter a blizzard, the depths of the Far North will become extremely dangerous. Even you might not even be able to survive it. If we are at the outskirts of the Far North, without the presence of Snow Women, we could continue the exploration Mission in the blizzard. However, we’re already in the depths of the Far North here. The deeper we go into the Far North, the more Snow Women appear. They hide in the blizzard and basically can’t be perceived by us.”

“It’s very likely that several Snow Women might suddenly attack, and by then we would not even know how we died!” As he spoke, Lui Fei looked at the sky. The dark clouds were already very low, and the cold wind had begun to howl, clearly indicating that a blizzard was approaching.

He turned to Shen Cai and said, “Shen Cai, quickly set up the ‘outpost’. In my opinion, the blizzard is about to come. If we wait any longer, we might soon be entangled with them!”

“Alright, give me ten minutes.” Shen Cai nodded and immediately took out the Crafting Recipe and materials to start building the outpost.

Lu Fan listened to Lui Fei, clicked his tongue, then suddenly looked at the sky and said, “Brother Lui, the Snow Women you mentioned… wouldn’t happen to be that thing, would they?”

“What? You saw a Snow Woman? That’s impossible!” Lui Fei was stunned and looked in the direction Lu Fan was pointing.

In the sky, only snowflakes were falling, rustling in the cold wind. As for traces of Monsters, he could not see anything at all.

Lu Fan did not answer but directly rode Xiao Ye to Soar into the air, flying rapidly towards the sky.

On the way, he took out his Black Dragon Scale Greatsword and slashed apart the air.

Instantly, a sword light carrying Dragon Qi flew out, swift and powerful, cutting through the air.

When this sword light passed through the air, it suddenly brought out a splash of purplish black blood, followed by a *squeak squeak* sound.

Under the astonished gazes of Lui Fei and the others, the originally empty air suddenly distorted, clearly indicating that something was in a state of Concealment had appeared after being attacked.

Soon, the true form of this thing emerged. It was a giant moth, snow-white all over, with a wingspan of about three metres.

Its wings were covered in white hair, its body was fat, and the most eye-catching feature was the Human face on its head.

At this moment, that face was filled with pain, and the *squeak squeak* sound coming from its mouth was continuous.

The defence of this kind of Monster was not high. Even though Lu Fan’s slash avoided its vitals, it still took half of its Health Points.

Lu Fan’s slash cut off one of its wings, making it difficult for it to maintain balance in the air. Thus, it was about to fall.

However, Lu Fan had already ridden Xiao Ye over. Xiao Ye’s Dragon Claw grabbed it, then circled back to Lui Fei and the others.

Under Xiao Ye’s enormous strength, no matter how much this Monster struggled, it was useless. Its Human-like face even extended a chopstick-like proboscis towards Xiao Ye’s Dragon Claw, seemingly attempting to suck Xiao Ye’s Dragon Blood.

Unfortunately, how could its proboscis possibly pierce through Xiao Ye’s hard scales? No matter how hard it tried to pierce its proboscis, it could not even leave a mark on Xiao Ye’s Dragon Claw.

Instead, Xiao Ye felt the thing in her hand was tickling her, so she slightly increased her grip, causing the Snow Woman to let out another miserable cry, almost being squeezed to death.

Seeing Lu Fan casually go up, grab a Snow Woman, and come back down, Lui Fei and the others were shocked into silence.

Snow Women were creatures that everyone feared. Not only were their Attributes formidable, far above the similarly invisible Gamelyons, but their Concealment Skill also made them impossible to guard against.

Generally, no one could discover the existence of Snow Women. Therefore, although Snow Women were only Level 85 Elite Monsters, for people in the Far North, they were more terrifying than Level 85 Bosses.

Even Lui Fei and the others, who had been in the Far North for over a year, had only seen Snow Women from afar. They would immediately be scared off, not daring to have any close contact with these Monsters.

After all, they might think that Snow Women was still far from them, but it was possible that there were already three or four Snow Women behind them, ready to perch on their backs and drink their blood.

Lu Fan was different though. When no one had noticed the Snow Woman’s existence, he directly flew into the air and caught it alive!

Snow Women, whom everyone feared, were like toys to him. How could this be explained!?

Lui Fei was stunned for a long time before looking at the injured Snow Woman in Xiao Ye’s hand and asking, “This… this is indeed a Snow Woman. But how did you discover it? Although the blizzard is not really here yet, it was hiding in the cold, high in the sky. It shouldn’t have been possible for anyone to discover it.”

Lu Fan smiled and said, “It was indeed hiding pretty well. Its Concealment Skill surpasses Assassin Type Players. Nevertheless, my Skills counter Concealment. My Pet Dragon has learned a Passive Skill after reaching Level 30, which allows her to see through all Concealments and Illusions.”

As he spoke, Lu Fan made the Black Dragon Perception Skill Effect into an Attribute Panel and shared it with Lui Fei and the others.

After seeing this Passive Skill, everyone fell silent again.

[Be Human for once! Even if it’s a Pet Dragon, how can it have such an absurd Passive Skill? Seeing through all Concealment and Illusions, doesn’t that mean Assassin Type Players would be completely exposed in front of you, with no advantages to speak of? Is this what the Dragon Race is? Their Attributes and Skills completely defy reason!]

Little did they know that the Black Dragon Perception was actually just an ordinary one among all of Xiao Ye’s Passives. If they saw Passives like Black Dragon Skin, Black Dragon Bloodline and etc, they would probably be jealous enough to vomit blood.

“This Skill is too overpowered…” Lu Changkong sucked on a cold breath, feeling that the more he understood Lu Fan’s Profession Characteristics, the more his scalp tingled. “If that’s the case, doesn’t it mean we don’t need to worry about Snow Women ambushing us?”

“In the blizzard, there are only two points to pay attention to. First, the Monsters’ getting stronger while we are being constrained in the blizzard so our Combat Power will decrease. With this alone, the danger coefficient increases when encountering Monsters.”

“The second point is the ambush of Snow Women. With Lu Fan here, we no longer need to worry about the first point at all, because among the currently known Monsters, Lu Fan can basically crush and slaughter them all. Now that Lu Fan can ride his Pet Dragon, it goes without saying that the second point will no longer be an issue with his Pet Dragon’s Passive Skill. Snow Women are indeed strong, but in front of Lu Fan, aren’t they just Mobs waiting to be one-shotted?”

Shen Cai glanced at him and said helplessly, “Every sentence is ‘with Lu Fan here’, ‘in front of Lu Fan’. This Mission is now completely dependent on Lu Fan, right?”

Lu Changkong spread his hands and smiled bitterly, “I don’t want it to be the case either. I also want to contribute to this Mission. But Lu Fan’s thighs are just so thick, if I don’t hug it, what else can I do…”

Shen Cai pouted, knowing what Lu Changkong said made sense.

All along this journey, because of Lu Fan’s presence, things had indeed become much easier for them.

Seeing that Lu Fan had the ability to deal with Snow Women, Lui Fei fell into deep thought.

To be honest, if they could continue exploring in the blizzard, he did not want to go back either.

Going back and forth would waste a lot of materials for making Transfer Arrays, and it would also seriously delay the exploration progress. Moreover, although the blizzard was dangerous, it had to be said that under such weather conditions, the frequency of Monster appearances would be higher, and many Snow Women would appear.

This was a good opportunity to grind Military Merits. Even if most of the Military Merits from killing Monsters would be taken by Lu Fan, as long as they helped out a little, they could also get a share of the Military Merits.

Plus the Military Merits gained from exploring the map with Lu Fan, it was very likely that in four or five days, they could gain more Military Merits than they would get in half a year!
