Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 183, Summon Divine Arrow + Shatter Star

Translator: Silavin

Historically, no Dragon Tamer had ever achieved a Second Profession Change. After all, without a Pet Dragon to activate the Profession Characteristics, it was a useless Profession. It was typically impossible for them to advance to have their Second Profession Change.

So, it was only natural that Lui Fei did not know about the Second Profession called Silver Dragon Rider.

Not just him, others also thought Lu Fan must have a Knight Type Hidden Profession.

Now that Lu Fan said his First Profession was Dragon Tamer, Lui Fei suddenly understood.

For the Second Profession of Silver Dragon Rider, the emphasis was not on the word ‘Rider’, but on ‘Dragon’.

Even in the Far North, Lui Fei had heard that Dragon Country produced two Dragon Tamers this year, both with their own Pet Dragons.

One of them only had an Armoured Earth Dragon. Though powerful, it was not overwhelmingly so.

But the other, reportedly, had a Pure Blood Pet Dragon, a Black Dragon with terrifying Combat Power!

Because this person was so powerful, even Tu Jing was moved to nurture such talent, showing great care for this Dragon Tamer. He had even issued repeated orders to Dragon Capital thousands of kilometres away, just to ensure this Dragon Tamer could develop better and not waste his potential.

Suddenly, Lui Fei understood everything. [Lu Fan is that Dragon Tamer with the Black Pet Dragon! Otherwise, how could he possibly possess Tu Jing’s Underworld Serpent’s Cry? Tu Jing must believe he could become Dragon Country’s second hero. That’s why he is sparing no effort in cultivating him.]

As for sending Lu Fan to the Far North to participate in exploration Missions, it must be for the same reason. Lui Fei now understood Tu Jing was not wrong before, that Lu Fan was indeed strong enough to be qualified to be a member of the Griffin Legion.

He was not here for reputation, but to further enhance his strength!

Thinking about how he and Shen Cai had earlier considered Lu Fan a burden to the team, and then recalling how Lu Fan had saved him twice, displaying increasingly shocking strength, Lui Fei felt his face burning with embarrassment.

Even when faced with doubt, Lu Fan had maintained a good attitude, neither showing off nor arguing back. Instead, he quietly learned within the team and, disregarding past grievances, acted promptly in times of crisis to save him twice!

“Brother Lui.” Lu Fan called out, snapping him back to reality. “You should go to Brother Lu and Sister Shen. Leave this to me. Earlier, when we were surrounded, I couldn’t guarantee your safety while killing Monsters. But it’s different now. With you outside the encirclement, I can fight freely and kill all these Monsters.”

[Lu Fan, you want to kill all the Ice Plain Yetis!?] A minute ago, Lui Fei would have thought Lu Fan was crazy. With over twenty Ice Plain Yetis, it would be fortunate enough for their small squad to escape safely, let alone kill the Monsters.

Lui Fei originally wanted to say this might be too risky. However, glancing at the Black Dragon, remembering how it had killed two Ice Plain Yetis with one Dragon Breath, he suddenly felt that asking such a question would be completely pointless.

With a Black Dragon present, what did Ice Plain Yetis amount to!?

After just a moment’s thought, Lui Fei realised his presence here would only distract Lu Fan. [To think all along, the burden in the squad wasn’t Lu Fan, but the three of us…]

“Alright, be careful. I won’t get in your way.” Lui Fei decisively said. After a brief word with Lu Fan, he rode his trembling Griffin to Shen Cai and Lu Changkong’s side.

With no more concerns, Lu Fan could now fight freely and slaughter all the Monsters before him.

He smiled slightly and turned to Xiao Ye, saying, “Xiao Ye, let’s begin. I know you don’t like this place. Once we kill these Monsters, I’ll send you back.”

*Ang!* Xiao Ye responded with a roar, then with a flap of her Dragon Wings, her enormous body moved with a speed disproportionate to her size. In an instant, she charged towards an Ice Plain Yeti. Without even using a Skill, relying solely on her Physical Strength, she sent it flying, its body shattering in mid-air.

Originally, Ice Plain Yetis possessed high intelligence and would have fled upon seeing a powerful enemy.

But perhaps because they had become Fallen Corpse Puppets, even facing a Baby Dragon, these Ice Plain Yetis showed no intention of running away.

The remaining Ice Plain Yetis even dared to attack actively, either launching Ice Throws or making *woo woo woo* sounds while wielding huge bone clubs, charging towards Xiao Ye and Lu Fan.

Xiao Ye naturally did not go easy on them. Her body soared into the air again, beginning a slaughter among the Ice Plain Yetis.

The Ice Plain Yetis’ Ice Throw Skill had almost no effect on her.

Firstly, she was basically immune to Debuffs.

Secondly, her Endurance Attribute was extremely high. Combined with her now Level 45 Black Dragon King Skin, she has a 90% Damage Reduction.

Even though the Ice Plain Yetis were Level 80 Elite Monsters with extremely High Strength Attribute, they still could not break through Xiao Ye’s defence.

Xiao Ye could easily shatter all those Ice Throw blocks flying through the air with a swing of her wings.

Whether she was spewing Lava Blaze or diving down to strike with her claws, she could easily kill these Elite Monsters.

Let alone Elite Monsters, even Nightmare Bosses had been slaughtered by her countless times. These Ice Plain Yetis did not even count as appetisers.

With Xiao Ye at the front, she basically took on all the hit.

Behind her, Lu Fan could steal a few kills.

Lu Fan did not use any Skills. Each time he drew the bowstring, a fireball would form at the string. When he released the shot, this fireball would instantly fly out, expanding in mid-air and accurately striking an Ice Plain Yeti.

Lu Fan used Summon Divine Arrow, choosing Baby Dragon’s Lava Blaze, because the Monsters in the Far North should mostly be of Ice Element, and Fire Element would have some countering effect on them.

The current situation proved this to be correct. Each time Lu Fan hit an Ice Plain Yeti, it would be severely injured, and the fire would continue burning on their bodies, causing Additional Damage.

However, Ice Plain Yetis were tough-skinned and thick-fleshed. For Lu Fan to finish them off, it took at least two or three arrows.

If Summon Divine Arrow had chosen Xiao Ye’s Great Cataclysm or Magma Burst, each arrow’s Attack Power should be even more enormous, possibly taking down one Ice Plain Yeti per shot.

However, she was not in her Destruction Dragon Form right now, so her Great Cataclysm and Magma Burst Skills were still greyed out. Lu Fan had no way to make Summon Divine Arrow choose these two more destructive Skills.

To deal with some Elite Monsters, there was naturally no need for Baby Dragon to transform into her Destruction Dragon Form.

Lu Fan thought for a moment, then suddenly remembered Xing Chen’s Skill, Shatter Star.

Lu Fan had once let Xing Chen test the power of Shatter Star in the Poison Spider Forest Dungeon Instance. The strength of this Skill was even above that of Magma Burst!

Even though Xing Chen’s Level was low, she had used this Skill to instantly kill the Shrieking Broodmother.

[If Summon Divine Arrow is powered with Shatter Star, wouldn’t the power of the arrow be even more terrifying?] Originally, Lu Fan just wanted to test the power of Underworld Serpent’s Cry, so after having this idea, he immediately reactivated Summon Divine Arrow.

This time, Lu Fan chose Xing Chen’s Shatter Star as the Enchantment Trait.

Lu Fan drew Underworld Serpent’s Cry, and instantly, what appeared on the bowstring was no longer a fireball, but points of constantly expanding starlight.

This starlight was particularly brilliant, with the central point expanding to fist-size as Lu Fan drew the bowstring.

The other light points revolved slowly around this huge point, as if it was a rising star and the other points were planets orbiting around it.

Lu Fan did not immediately shoot this arrow but used another Skill of Underworld Serpent’s Cry – Serpent’s Hidden Arrow.

Accumulating the arrow’s power for three seconds would allow the next shot to exert 500% of its original power.

Combining Summon Divine Arrow with Shatter Star, this strike was basically Lu Fan’s strongest attack using the Underworld Serpent’s Cry!

The three seconds of arrow accumulation quickly completed. By now, the light point on the bowstring had expanded to the size of a Human head, the starlight even more dazzling.

This arrow not only looked flashy but also emitted a heavy pressure that could not be underestimated.

At this moment, after Xiao Ye’s rampage, only five Ice Plain Yetis remained, still stubbornly resisting.

Originally, she wanted to finish them off with one Lava Blaze, but sensing Lu Fan’s intention, she swallowed back her Lava Blaze and flew up high, leaving these five Ice Plain Yetis to Lu Fan.

Lu Fan narrowed his eyes, aiming at the remaining Ice Plain Yetis, and suddenly released his right hand.

Instantly…

*Whoosh!* Strong winds arose as this arrow formed from starlight flew towards the Ice Plain Yetis with unstoppable momentum.

Where the star arrow passed, the strong winds swept up the snow and shattered the eternally frozen ice layers. Its power was simply immeasurable!

Not only was the power carried by the arrow astonishing, but its speed was also mind-boggling.

Almost instantly, the arrow fell among the five Ice Plain Yetis, then burst into a brilliance too dazzling to look directly at.

It was as if a star had disintegrated, reaching its ultimate sublimation in its final moment.

*Boom!* A sound a hundred times louder than thunder rang out. The dazzling light directly engulfed the five Ice Plain Yetis. Countless strong winds swept outwards, affecting even Lui Fei and the others far away, flipping them over and dropping them into the snow.

From there, a small mushroom cloud slowly rose in the sky of the Far North…
