Chapter 1199: Chapter 405: Assault_3

And another black-robed figure was just about to help when suddenly, a gust of wind hit from behind, prompting him to turn around in defense!

”Clang!”

The newcomer was Cleya. Although she had never seen Lagaray, seeing that the person had rushed out from the Rein Mansion, she was undoubtedly a friend and not a foe.

The situation was now reversed.

As long as she could entangle these two black-robed assassins for a minute or two, they would be surrounded by the patrol squad.

So, Cleya immediately adopted a strategy focused on elusive fighting, pressing the enemy when they retreat and retreating when they advance, leaving them in discomfort.

The commotion happening here naturally attracted the surrounding patrol personnel.

”I am an Imperial Swordsman; these two black-robed figures are assassins.” Olena, having just breathed a sigh of relief, immediately declared her identity when she saw a team of patrol guards approaching, shouting out.

Before the guards arrived, they had already assessed the situation on the ground and made a judgment.

After all, if there are two women and two black-robed figures, whom would you consider the enemy?

Any person could tell.

Besides, the capable young lady in front of them had just identified herself.

”Surround them!” With an order from the leading Knight Captain, the group of guards immediately encircled them.

At the same time, the cry of Griffins sounded from the sky, as a team of three Griffin riders swooped down toward them.

This was the defensive power of Imperial City Tamriel, where someone would inevitably arrive within two minutes.

The two black-robed figures, seeing this scene, instantly went mad, breaking through without dodging or evading.

”Pfft!”

Cleya immediately seized the opportunity, unleashing her full force in one strike, piercing a black-robed figure’s back.

At the same time, Lagaray, wielding a giant shield, swiftly blocked the remaining black-robed figure, pushing him back forcefully.

This black-robed figure looked desperate; it seemed like he bit into something, and a stream of black blood flowed immediately. He trembled a few times before falling backward.

The other fallen black-robed figure also revealed a fierce expression before collapsing similarly!

”Cult?” Cleya’s eyes narrowed as she spoke.

Such fearless and death-defying behavior was only typical of those influenced by the teachings of a cult; ordinary assassin organizations generally didn’t embrace death with such fervor.

Meanwhile, the Griffin descent had concluded, with the three Griffin riders dismounting.

Olena naturally stepped forward from the rear, saying, ”Gentlemen, I am Olena, Deputy Director of the Sword Bearer Headquarters Reception Department. These two black-robed individuals just assassinated my driver.”

”Thankfully, I had help from these two, which spared me from harm.”

Olena, being part of the Imperial system, efficiently explained the situation in a few words, sparing the savage girl Lagaray the need to introduce herself.

Hmm?

The Headquarters Sword Bearers?

The leading Griffin knight, a robust middle-aged man with a square face, twitched his eye at Olena’s introduction, giving her a once-over. A Second Level Wizard Apprentice?

Clearly a clerical staff member, yet the Deputy Director of the reception department warrants some attention.

”Deputy Director Olena, leave this to us. We will thoroughly investigate this matter.”

”I suggest the Swordsmen take over, for I suspect, though they targeted me, their ultimate goal might still be my superior, Lord Rein.” Olena soberly suggested.

”Lord Rein?” The three Griffins exchanged glances. Anyone a Deputy Director would mention as a superior must indeed be significant within the Sword Bearer Headquarters.

Also, why did the name Rein sound familiar?

”Is it the Rein who defeated the ’Carver’ Harold?” the mustached Griffin rider suddenly asked, astonished.

”Yes, sir.”

”Understood, Deputy Director Olena. Once your department’s personnel arrive, we will hand over the matter here.”

”Alright, thank you for your cooperation.” Olena responded with a slight bow.

”Haha, you’re welcome.”

....

At this moment, Olena approached Cleya, slightly bowed, and expressed her gratitude:

”You must be... Miss Cleya? Thank you for your assistance this time.”

Just now, Olena recognized the young noblewoman who had saved her: Cleya, whom she had met several times before, knowing her to be closely connected to her superior, Lord Rein.

Several times, Rein had asked her to send messages to Cleya, warning of cult attacks.

Moreover, Cleya was the Count Habs’s legitimate daughter, originating from Mingster Province, naturally making her seem more familiar.

”Hello, it’s me.” Cleya replied as she sheathed her knight’s longsword and moved to Olena’s side.

However, after glancing at Olena, she turned her gaze toward the savage girl nearby.

A woman’s intuition told her that the girl might have an unusual relationship with Rein.

”Hello, I am Olena. Thank you for your help.” Olena immediately walked to Lagaray’s side, slightly bowing in gratitude.

”Norton Tribe, Lagaray.”

Hmm?

So this was the Lagaray that little Matteo had mentioned?

Olena was briefly startled, quickly sizing up the barbarian girl... exotic charm, her superior was indeed...

Nonetheless, Olena quickly glanced at both women, feeling a strange emotion in her heart.

She had a feeling that the savage girl standing before her might also share a close relationship with her superior, Lord Rein.

Moreover, looking at the way the two women watched each other, they appeared unfamiliar with one another.

This certainly became intriguing.

However, the problem was, with Lord Rein absent and herself caught in the middle, Olena quickly decided to divert the attention of the two women.
