Chapter 1189: Chapter 403: Twin Snakes

Since he plans to reject the recruitment by the Second Prince, Rein naturally has to prepare accordingly.

Especially since next week is the selection for the Dragon Knight Reserve. Rein is certain that the other party will inevitably ask for his final decision before then.

Although information can also be obtained through the Sword Bearer’s channel, Rein is not sure how effective their purging efforts are, whereas Luther, who participated in the last selection, should be more aware.

At Rein’s inquiry, Luther was first taken aback, then laughed, saying: ”Lord Rein, with your strength, there’s nothing to worry about for this assessment.”

”But since you’ve asked, I’ll give a brief explanation.”

”Firstly, concerning the first assessment content which is the flight combat assessment, the key points are ’flight’ and ’combat’. ”

”’Flight’ requires candidates to ride a flying mount to observe their flying skills, which is why candidates need a flying mount for this assessment.”

”The general idea is that if candidates can maneuver their flying mounts to complete tasks like navigating obstacles, making sharp turns, and diving mid-air, it indicates that they also possess the relevant skills for controlling a Giant Dragon in the future.”

”As for ’combat’, it assesses whether the candidate and the flying mount can cooperate effectively to defeat the enemy.”

”Since high-level flying skills are not scarce, and Dragon Knights are not circus Beast Tamers, it’s necessary to demonstrate sufficient combat power.”

Luther added another sentence, seemingly to make it easier for Rein and Halowin to understand.

”Is the first one a combat assessment? Then what about the second one?” Halowin couldn’t help but ask with a confused expression.

After all, for general assessments involving multiple sections, the difficulty usually progresses from easy to hard.

For example, the first one might be a physical or skill test, while the second one is a combat assessment.

”As for the second one, Lord Rein, Lord Halowin, everyone participating in the second section has signed a high-ranking confidentiality agreement with the Royal Family, so I can’t disclose it.” Luther frowned and said.

”However... I heard that Lord Rein recently took a trip to the Fiery Flame Canyon?” Luther seemed to have thought of something, emphasized the Fiery Flame Canyon, and then stopped, looking at Rein with a smile.

Rein pondered for a moment, then smiled as well, nodded, and said: ”Thank you, Lord Luther, I understand.”

He understood Luther’s implication.

The second test should be held in a Secret Realm similar to the Fiery Flame Canyon. Although the exact content is unknown, it’s probably one of those few situations.

For example, in this special Secret Realm, killing specific enemies with higher difficulty, or the Secret Realm itself containing Dragon or Dragon Descendant creatures, etc.

At this moment, after contemplating for a while, Halowin also dawned with realization.

After understanding the related situation of the Dragon Knight Reserve assessment, Rein bid farewell and agreed to go to the camp tomorrow to familiarize himself with flight techniques.

After all, for Rein, since he started riding the Blood Feather, he rarely had opportunities for aerial combat. Comparatively, Luther and Halowin have much more experience in this area.

Of course, Rein is not worried about cooperation issues.

As someone with a Beast Priest (Legendary) profession panel, his cooperation with Blood Feather would not have any problems, mainly to get accustomed to the field and exchange strategies for dealing with different enemies with Luther and Halowin.

Just as Rein was about to board the carriage to the school station, he suddenly noticed Olena waiting nearby.

”Oh, Lord Olena, is there something urgent?” Rein saw Olena’s solemn expression and guessed that something bad likely happened.

”Lord Rein, let’s talk on the carriage.”

”Alright!”

After the two sat inside the carriage, Rein cast a Soundproofing Technique, and then Olena began her report:

”Just now, Major General Tatia sent an urgent message saying that during the cleanup work’s conclusion, someone found apparent signs of information leakage about your task details in the Sword Bearer’s file management department.”

”Hmm, I expected that.” Rein calmly nodded.

He had actually anticipated this situation long ago.

The previous several assassination attempts against him, with near-perfect timing and locations, made it almost impossible to say no one leaked relevant information about him.

Hearing Rein’s words left Olena rather surprised.

However, from Rein’s calm demeanor and tone, she sensed a confident aura, and an admiration arose within her heart.

”Additionally, there’s another piece of news. The internal inspectors of the Sword Bearer department learned from some detained individuals yesterday that your personal mission execution records seem to have been intentionally leaked to the Cult.”

”Oh?” Rein raised an eyebrow and said.

This development was somewhat intriguing.

But with a little thought, Rein understood and guessed the general outline.

”Analysis suggests it’s likely the Conservative Party members leaked your mission execution records.”

Olena’s words confirmed Rein’s guess.

”So, they are trying to use the Cult to get rid of me?”

”Yes, Lord Rein.”

Seeing the smile on Rein’s face, Olena, for some reason, felt her inner tension greatly relieved.
