Chapter 1167: 397: Ironspine Undead Chest Armor_3

The middle-aged man in the gray robe did not enter rashly, but slightly bowed at the entrance of the cave and said loudly:

“Master Staven, we have received the latest news. Our target has just accepted a mission at the Sword Holder Headquarters, and if nothing unexpected happens, they should soon leave Imperial City Tamriel.”

“Oh? What specific mission?” Staven, who was meditating with his eyes closed in the cave, said indifferently.

Beside him stood a giant burly man as solid as a rock, with the lower half of his body being an eerie giant scorpion, none other than Staven’s legendary stitched monster ‘Scorpion Man.’

Behind the Scorpion Man, there were many tall ghouls exuding a stench of death, their massive and sharp claws indicating their unusual identity.

These were Staven’s elite undead — Claw Ghouls, whose combat power far exceeds that of ordinary Plague Ghouls, and are a far cry from the decaying ghouls.

Staven himself didn’t need to hide in a mountain cave with a shielding witch array, but because he was close to Imperial City Tamriel, and his undead minions constantly emitted special energy fluctuations.

That’s why he chose to stay in the cave.

“The mission they accepted is to kill the Molten Fire Dragon ‘Hermados.ʼ” The middle-aged man reporting said sternly.

Although his strength was far from various dragon species, he had heard of creatures like fire dragons.

It’s said that even when compared to true giant dragons, their strength is only a notch below.

“Is there any specific intelligence?”

Staven, in the cave, suddenly opened his eyes upon hearing this news, and a soul-stirring light flashed briefly!

The bloodshot webs in his eyes had long disappeared, seemingly due to having stopped his relentless experiments during the journey, allowing him a good rest.

“Yes, we are ready.” The middle-aged man cautiously entered and respectfully handed a stack of documents to Staven.

Then, he glanced fearfully at the terrifying undead behind Staven before quickly retreating from the cave.

After receiving the documents, Staven carefully reviewed the task information about the Molten Fire Dragon ‘Hermados.’

A moment later, he closed his eyes and started to ponder.

“The fact that they took on this mission indicates their confidence or assurance in killing the Molten Fire Dragon ‘Hermados.ʼ”

“But even for me, the odds of victory against this Molten Fire Dragon are less than forty percent.”

“There are two possibilities: one is that they have some special trump card against dragons, and the second… your intelligence is wrong! Their strength is greater than the intelligence you previously provided.”

After speaking, Staven stared coldly at the person before him.

The sudden haunting gaze made cold sweat bead on the forehead of the reporting First Level Wizard instantly.

After all, there are countless examples of task failures due to intelligence oversight, which is the most criticized issue by operatives.

“Please calm down, Lord Staven, I will report immediately! Please wait a moment.”

As the wizard hurriedly left, less than three minutes later, an elder in the manor rushed in.

Judging by the aura, the elder’s strength was about the initial stage of Third Level Crystalization, indicating he should be the person in charge here.

“Master Staven, we have repeatedly verified their intelligence, and it should be accurate. Do you mean even ‘Carver’ Lord Harold couldn’t make them exert their full combat strength?”

“I’m afraid so.” Staven nodded.

Previously, after seeing a crystal recording of the battlefield traces of Rein and Harold in Tafulin Town, Staven concluded that Rein was strong but wouldn’t be his match.

He judged that if he faced Rein, he would have about seventy percent odds of winning.

As for Harold’s title as the strongest legend, in his eyes, it had more elements of exaggeration, especially since the other belonged to the Isodre School.

Don’t forget that both the Isodre School and their Tutkash School are on the Shirendil Plateau, and he naturally understands the strength of Earth Wizards.

When he gained fame, Harold was merely an emerging junior.

“Master Staven, if I dispatch two Kings of Assassins from the Black Blade Organization to assist you?” the elder pondered briefly.

“Not enough, besides, I don’t like others’ cooperation.” Staven shook his head, rejecting the elder’s suggestion.

“Then what do you mean?” the elder asked with a downcast expression.

“I need something, with it, my odds will significantly increase.”

“What is it?”

“Iron Spine Necromantic Chest Armor.”

“What!” The elder’s eyes widened, inhaling a cold breath.

As a Third Level Crystalized Wizard, he certainly had heard of this thing.

But the problem is that this item is currently sealed in Cologne Cathedral, and obtaining it is almost impossible, at least for him, with no way.

“I need it to enhance my undead minions so that my odds can exceed seventy percent.”

“You can consider yourselves, but if not, don’t blame me for task failure.” After speaking, Staven closed his eyes again and continued meditating.

“This….” The elder pondered in silence.

A moment later, the elder said: “Master Staven, regarding this matter, I must immediately contact above. Please continue to prepare, and I will take my leave now.”
