Chapter 1165: Chapter 397: Iron-Spined Undead Chest Armor

”In that case, for the two positions, reserve one for a male team member. Tell Claire about it. As for the interview time... let’s schedule it for when I return from the mission,” Rein thought for a moment and said.

Since a shortlist of four female candidates has already been made, it wouldn’t be appropriate to completely overturn it now; one of them must be chosen.

Moreover, the selection for the male team member also requires time, so it will have to wait until his return.

An all-female team isn’t suitable; for example, imagine after slaying the dragon, while resting by the side, there should be a strong male team member in charge of skinning and handling the spoils.

This work is something most women probably cannot handle.

”Alright, Lord Rein, I will notify them immediately.”

”By the way, help me take on the task of killing the Molten Fire Dragon ’Hermados’, and apply to headquarters for a small airship to carry out the mission.”

”Hmm? Lord Rein, are you sure you want to choose this mission?” Olena was taken aback upon hearing this.

It was only now that she realized that the words she had said a couple of days ago, Rein probably hadn’t paid much attention to.

”I’m certain,” Rein nodded and said.

”Alright, Lord Rein,” Olena nodded.

Although she wanted to say something more, she was well aware of her position. Since she had already made her suggestions, all she needed to do next was to execute orders, not to continue advising or questioning the chief’s decision.

Combining past achievements, Olena had reasons to believe that the present Lord Rein made such a decision likely because he was quite confident.

”By the way, Lord Rein, according to the regulations, when the Fine Gold Swordsmen team carries out a mission, they can mobilize one Secret Silver-level team and two Magic Iron-level teams for assistance.”

”Will you need to mobilize them this time?”

After a moment’s contemplation, Rein waved his hand and said, ”No, just Claire, Beyonce, and myself will suffice.”

Considering that it’s the first mission after the clearing operation, he didn’t want his whereabouts to be too widely noticed.

Additionally, in the battle against the Molten Fire Dragon, having a large number of team members with lower power levels wouldn’t be very meaningful.

”Understood, my lord.”

...

After Olena left, Rein pondered briefly, then set off to the school station.

Upon entering Mogaro’s laboratory, Rein saw Mogaro shaking off his hands, taking big gulps of liquor, as if he had just completed the final modification work on the Hellfire Demon Statue.

Since Audrey and Alicia were doing the final polishing step beside him.

”Mentor, is the last modification completed?”

Rein initially came with the intention of checking the progress before going out on a mission, but it turned out Mogaro’s progress exceeded his expectations.

”Just completed, you came at the right time, now we can test it,” Mogaro said.

”However, the mental power consumption from driving it once might be quite large, at least I can’t do it,” Mogaro seemed to recall something and added.

”Understood, mentor, I will keep that in mind.”

During Rein’s last visit to check the progress of the Hellfire Demon Statue, he suggested whether it’s possible to add one or two small furnace devices to give the Hellfire Demon Statue the ability similar to ’overclocking.’

Since converting the ’overclocked’ power into the statue’s action ability would involve the durability and sturdiness of most component structures, the ’overclocking’ referred to here is witchcraft overclocking.

That is, by adding one or two small furnaces and increasing the number of witchcraft runes to achieve the effect of enhancing the release frequency or power of witchcraft.

In this way, the entire modification process wouldn’t involve adjusting the overall components.

Modification would be quite easy; otherwise, it would have been an enormous modification project.

It’s like modifying a car in a previous life, upgrading a 2.0 engine to a 4.0, with a turbocharger, which requires corresponding adjustments to the car body structure, brakes, etc., making it quite challenging.

But if one merely finds the exhaust sound insufficiently cool and wants to double the volume, it’s much easier to achieve. Just modify the exhaust.

Not enough? Add two more speakers.

”Lord Rein,” seeing that Rein has arrived, both Audrey and Alicia greeted him with a bow.

”Lord Rein!”

Upon meeting Rein again, Alicia, known for her fiery personality, showed a hint of restraint, no longer acting as audaciously as before.

After all, having witnessed Rein’s power, any normal person would maintain a certain level of reverence.

Rein gave a slight nod to the two women and said, ”Thank you for your hard work.”

.....

As the spell’s incantation was spoken, Rein lightly pointed, and a thumb-thick earth-yellow light beam shone on the Hellfire Demon Statue in front of him, which was precisely the lv4 level Activation Technique.

Rein also discovered that driving this Hellfire Demon Statue consumed spiritual power five times more than a previous intermediate battle puppet. Quantitatively, in terms of the system’s given spiritual power, the consumption was about fifty points of spiritual power.

This compared to his high point of ninety-eight spiritual power, consumed nearly half.

No wonder, typically, driving a Demon Statue for battle requires stepping into the Third Level Crystalized Wizard, as the statue corresponds to combat power comparable to the Legendary Level.

Of course, if one has a High-grade metal affinity or above, a Second Level Liquidation Peak Wizard can barely try.

Furthermore, for someone like Rein with Super Metal Affinity, the control threshold can naturally be further reduced, but even this is approaching the limit.

After all, a Wizard cannot deplete most of their spiritual power for a puppet; in combat, they must reserve a considerable amount of spiritual power to respond to enemy attacks and cast other witchcraft.
