Chapter 549: Chapter 238: Became a Sponsored Student Again (Combined Double Chapter)_2

“There’s something I’d like to discuss with Lord Reine.”

Upon Reine’s arrival, the guard at the door bowed slightly and said, “Lord Reine, a number of nobles have sent you invitations, please take a look.”

“Alright, thank you.”

However, Reine was still taken aback when he saw the thick stack of invitations.

This…

Since the Sword Bearers Branch forbids outsiders from entering, Reine thought for a moment and said, “Jenny, Agatha, let’s go to the carriage to discuss.”

“Reine, I’ll head back first then,” Vinica said with a smile after glancing at the two women.

“Alright, have a good rest.”

“Mhm.”

In the carriage.

“It’s probably because I completed the Sword Bearer assessment quite swiftly,” Reine mused, unsure of how to explain to the two girls, who weren’t skilled in combat, how he knocked out the Obsidian Giant with a single hammer strike.

After all, they had never seen an Obsidian Giant, let alone understood its strength; they had no basis for comparison.

“By the way, Jenny, Agatha, perhaps the trading matters aren’t so difficult,” Reine pointed to the invitations piled half a meter high inside the carriage and continued:

“All these are invitations from nobles asking me to attend banquets. You two take a look and see if there’s anyone among them you’d like to collaborate with, I should be able to introduce you.”

Although Jenny and Agatha were still confused by Reine’s explanation, they immediately started going through the invitations when they heard he could possibly help with the introductions.

“Agatha, isn’t this Viscount Okote we’ve been looking for? He’s the one supporting the Golden Chrysanthemum Chamber of Commerce,” Jenny exclaimed.

“Yes, Jenny,” Agatha glanced at the invitation in Jenny’s hand and nodded affirmatively in response.

“Hey? Jenny, isn’t this Earl Owens the backer of the large Nicolini Chamber of Commerce?”

…..

After returning to his room, Reine finally remembered he hadn’t checked the system prompts from defeating the Obsidian Giant during the day:

[Your skill Tokkal Hammer Technique has improved, Experience +981]

(Note: The above skill Experience benefits from a 30% increase due to the exclusive talent ‘Junior Extraordinary Understanding’.)

[You have experienced a combat, Weapon Master (Legendary) Experience +338]

…

Looking at the system prompts, Reine nodded to himself.

Although he had only executed a single strike, the experience rewards from the system were not meager.

On second thought, Reine inferred that this might be because it was the first time he had fully exerted an Intermediate Secret Technique.

That feeling of swinging the hammer fluidly and with exhilarating completeness was so vivid that his blood seemed to pump faster and his whole being became slightly excited even now when he thought about it.

Of course, without his Intermediate Talent and mastery of the Intermediate Secret Technique, such a powerful strike would have been impossible!

Unfortunately, levelling up the Intermediate Secret Technique required Golden Skill Points, and elevating a talent was even more troublesome due to increasingly scarce Talent Points…

Regathering his thoughts, Reine reflected on the initial trial of the day.

Among those who passed the assessment, the majority were Peak Knights, nearly twenty in total.

Others included veteran knights who were concurrently second-level Wizard Apprentices and also pure third-level Wizard Apprentices, though in smaller numbers.

Furthermore, there were also eight individuals with the strength of a Great Knight who passed, which led Reine to marvel at how the number of geniuses clearly increased when looking across the whole province.

Two individuals had left a deep impression on him.

One was a burly man wielding a sword and shield, named Angus, a Great Knight, who appeared to be about twenty-six or twenty-seven and reportedly had always served in the imperial army.

When facing the rock attacks from the Obsidian Giant, he managed to hold up his shield and withstand the blows, giving off an unshakably solid impression and demonstrating formidable strength.

The other, a young man named Nelio, who was elegant and seemed to be the heir of a Marquis from Mingster with the strength of a third-level Wizard Apprentice, simply tore open a Sorcery Scroll ‘Web Spell’ to slow down the Obsidian Giant, making it through the test with ease.

According to what others said, this young man was a rare Scroll Master, and using a scroll was naturally within the rules.

….

“In three days, when all the formal paperwork to become a bona fide Sword Bearer is settled, I wonder if I’ll be able to directly inquire about exchanging for metal-type witchcraft, and what the requirements might be?”

“Next, it’s waiting for the black horse to complete its mutation and upgrade to a fierce wild beast so that I can change my profession to a Beast Taming Master. According to the timing, that should be happening soon.”

“Weapon Master (Legendary) is my core combat profession, with no laxity allowed in enhancing the Extraordinary Combat Skills. If I can improve my Rocken axe and shield combat skills, I’ll have one more method to handle opponents… ”

Reine, lying in bed, seemed thoughtful.

Shortly after, he fell into a deep sleep.

…

The next morning, Reine arrived at the training room of this building.

The Sword Bearers Branch naturally had an outdoor training field, but it was only open to official personnel, so even if he wanted to go, he would have to wait until the paperwork two days later.

As he approached, he hadn’t expected to see a few robust and slightly dark-skinned young men already training.

He had a good memory of these individuals; they had come from the army and formed a small group, with the core of the group being the burly man wielding a sword and shield, Angus, whose strength was that of a Great Knight.

Upon seeing Reine enter, they immediately looked up and focused their attention on him.

It was unavoidable to pay attention!

After all, how could they not take notice of the young man who defeated the Obsidian Giant with a single blow, the undisputed first place in the initial trial?
