Chapter 506: Chapter 227: Job Change! [Pharmacist] (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

“Otherwise, he might just ruin the Blackflame Prayer Ritual!”

Facing Baron Alarso’s doubts, Lamar spoke with conviction:

“Baron, such a possibility is almost non-existent, for the High Priest is absolutely confident this time!”

After hesitating, Lamar decided to reveal some information to the Baron before him.

“At that time, the High Priest will borrow a trace of the God of Hunting’s imposing pressure. Not to mention a seasoned Knight, even a Peak Knight will find it extremely difficult to withstand!”

A trace of divine pressure?

Such a big move! Alarso showed a surprised expression.

Although Alarso was not aware of the specific means, he knew that borrowing the God’s imposing pressure would inevitably come at a great cost.

Hearing this answer, Alarso nodded and said, “If the High Priest has a way to borrow a trace of the God of Hunting’s divine power during the prayer ritual, then I think, there shouldn’t be any more accidents in this matter.”

“By the way, Lord Lamar, perhaps I should also inform you of another piece of news.”

“This morning, I saw in a letter from Mingster that this Baron Rein we are dealing with will attend the Imperial Sword Bearer’s examination in Mingster Province in a few days.”

“Sword Bearer?” Lamar couldn’t help but change his expression and exclaimed.

“Yes, I’ve been pondering this issue. If we can’t deal with him before Rein goes for the Sword Bearer examination, once he passes and officially joins the Sword Bearers, I think he is likely to target the Blackflame Church first.”

Hearing this news, Lamar shivered and reaffirmed with a solemn face: “Lord Baron Alarso, are you certain of this news?”

At that moment, the butler Michel spoke up.

“Lord Lamar, this letter is still on Lord Count Habbs’ desk at the moment; the news is absolutely true.”

Lamar nodded and fell silent in thought.

It seemed that the letter sent to Count Habbs, the Meister County Governor by Mingster, was undoubtedly authentic.

“Baron, I understand what you mean. Since that is the case, we must not fail in our action this time!”

“I will go back and report to the High Priest right now.”

…

After seeing off Lamar, Baron Alarso stood up and looked out through the second-floor window at the closely packed houses in the noble district of the villa. Although it was already the month of new life, the roofs still bore quite a lot of white snow.

At that moment, the butler Michel couldn’t help but ask, “My lord, do you think the Blackflame Church will be able to deal with Rein this time?”

After all, anyone who had racked their brains trying to kill someone and failed several times would have some shadows in their heart!

This wasn’t just true for butler Michel, including Alarso himself.

Especially since last time, Alarso had arranged three fallbacks, but Rein had foiled each of them, which had also dealt a significant blow to Alarso’s confidence.

After a long pause, Michel finally received Alarso’s reply:

“If we do nothing, we’ll never have the chance to get rid of the opponent.”

“Moreover, what we are doing is merely an invitation to a ball, we don’t have to act personally. However, we still need to think carefully about how to make the other party agree to it.”

…

—————–

Inside the Crowley family-run Blacksmith shop.

As a blacksmith, Rein was currently wielding a hammer, repairing the high-grade knight’s chest armor made of water membrane steel.

In a previous battle with the shadow assassin, his water membrane steel chest armor had been punctured with several holes. Although it had been slightly repaired in Fishing Port Town due to the lack of water membrane steel ingots, it had only smoothed out some dents and unevenness.

But this time, because Jennifer had prepared and collected many rare minerals early, Rein easily found water membrane steel ingots in the rare mineral storage room, and after melting them, he proceeded to manually polish the repairs.

An hour later.

Rein held the repaired water-processed steel chest armor in his hand, inspecting it. Looking at the smooth surface, which bore no signs of previous damage, Rein nodded in satisfaction with his craftsmanship.

It seemed, his skill as a blacksmith was quite commendable.

Setting aside the chest armor, he then took out the longbow from ‘Bloody Shooter’ Phil.

The original material of the bow, magic steel ingots, was also fine, as Jennifer had prepared it in advance.

What Rein needed to do now was to strengthen the bow further, especially the diameter of the bow arms, allowing this great bow to withstand the force of his Great Knight level.

As for the bowstring, which was supposed to be made from the dorsal tendon of a spineback sea serpent, Jennifer had arranged for the best Bowmaker under the Crowley family to assist in reinforcing it.

According to the Bowmaker, wrapping a special linen fiber around the tendon and soaking it in a specially made solution for a few hours would suffice, not only providing the bowstring with great tensile strength but also greatly enhancing its durability.

For a bowstring, having immense elasticity isn’t necessary, but toughness and durability are very important.

Half a day later, Rein removed the newly modeled warbow from the mold.

The bow, shimmering with a pale gray metallic sheen, had noticeably strengthened arms compared to before, and its length had also increased a bit more to 1.8 meters.
