Chapter 524: Chapter 232 Special Class Change! [Deadly Poison Master (Transcendent)] (Two in One Mega Chapter)

“Stop howling! If he’s dead, he deserved it!” the shield-bearing strongman squinted his eyes and said irritably to Mishel.

“Count Habs?”

“How come this bird-man is your kin, isn’t he the son of the Meister County Governor? In that case, there might be something wrong with your Earl as well!” the shield-bearing strongman pointed at Alonso’s body on the ground and said.

His mission this time was on the verge of success yet had ultimately failed.

Even though the cult had been eradicated, that shred of the Evil God’s divinity had not been collected, and he was feeling very frustrated.

Upon hearing the shield-bearing strongman’s words, Michel immediately dared not make another peep.

However, he quickly realized from the smooth diagonal cut on Alonso’s body that it must have been made by some kind of sharp weapon.

Also, after examining the position of Alonso’s body, Michel’s gaze quickly locked onto Rein’s Dual-Handed Greatsword.

With an epiphany, Michel quivered as he pointed to Rein, suggesting he had found the murderer:

“It was you! It was you! Wasn’t it, Rein? You killed Lord Baron Alonso!”

“For killing so many imperial nobles, you are to be stripped of your noble title and sentenced to hanging!”

Rein turned his head to look at Michel, about to say something.

Suddenly, the short-staffed man beside them spoke up:

“This guy has obvious signs of being altered by cult potions, which means, he must have been consuming the cult’s drugs for a long time.”

“That is to say, Lord Rein, instead of being punished for killing some Alonso Baron, will likely be rewarded,” the short-staffed man pointed to the mutated parts on Alonso’s dead body and clarified for Rein.

The young man before them had cleared the cult organization in this place. While it would have been a simple task for them, he felt obliged to be grateful; after all, it had saved them the trouble.

At this point, Rein’s eyes flickered, as if something had occurred to him.

Could it be a side effect of the Divine Blood?

It seemed that the so-called Divine Blood, which was believed to have no side effects, not only had significant ones but also very deep-seated, undetectable by the nobles of Meister County in advance.

He remembered Hamilton mentioning that the bottle of Divine Blood he had captured earlier was sent to the Royal Alchemist Association for testing, but, curiously, there had been no conclusive information thus far.

However, according to this Sword Bearer’s statement, the result seemed quite clear.

After the short-staffed man finished the absorption ritual, Rudolf’s Temple Knights immediately stepped forward to examine the Cult of the Black Flame’s sacrificial array and the corpses nearby.

But…

Just at that moment, many relatives of the deceased nobles who were originally attending the banquet in the mansion scurried downstairs.

Among those who entered, many immediately saw the bodies of Barons or Lords belonging to their families.

Since those nobles who consumed Divine Blood were either the heads of their major noble families or held significant family status, the relatives of these deceased nobles were stunned at the sight before them!

After a quick count, there were precisely thirteen individuals with noble titles, including Lords and Barons, and additionally, there was a Viscount dead onsite.

This was a recipe for an uproar!

Soon, as the household steward and a group of guards whispered amongst themselves, these relatives of the nobles quickly learned of the specifics.

But people, when swayed by emotions, are irrational.

They wouldn’t consider why Rein had killed these nobles, nor would they ponder the truthfulness of the steward’s words.

Instead, they simply directed all their fury and malice towards the young man before them.

Because they knew one thing, their kin had been killed at the hands of this young man, who didn’t seem too old.

Though this young man was also a noble.

But such a matter was not something a mere Baron could handle.

Bishop Rudolf of the Goddess Church quickly realized the atmosphere was off. He had not expected so many Meister nobles to be involved with the Black Flame Cult…

With so many relatives of the deceased nobles present, Rein was at a disadvantage.

However, setting aside the relationship between Rein and him, even including Rein’s operation, they had been informed in advance by the Goddess Church.

Moreover, in the context of this incident alone, Rein had actually taken the brunt of it.

One could imagine, if their own church had stormed this stronghold, they would most likely have faced the same situation as Rein, with some fallen nobles and the Black Flame Cult united in resistance.

This meant that Rein had actually done them a big favor, and so Rudolf felt he needed to do something.

At that, Rudolf said to the Temple Knights beside him, “Secure the scene, immediately lock down the evidence.”

Securing evidence was critical.

As long as the solid evidence of these dozen-plus nobles colluding with the Black Flame Cult was established, then there was nothing to blame for Rein’s killings under this overarching context.

However…

Rudolf still furrowed his brow because he knew that the death of one person was particularly problematic.

That was Alonso, who had died at the hands of Rein. He was the eldest son of Count Habbs, the Meister County Governor. The attitude of Count Habbs would be critical in dealing with this matter.

Not much time had passed when a major incident occurred in the county town. The elite Night Watchmen, the City Guard, and the forces of the Goddess Church that came to support arrived swiftly at the scene.
