Chapter 525: Chapter 232: Special Job Change! 【Deadly Poison Master (Transcendent)】 (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

At that moment, Bishop Shion, guarded by dozens of temple guards and temple knights, arrived at the scene.

The arrival of Bishop Shion seemed to give those noble relatives, who were originally hostile to Rein, a pillar to lean on.

They approached one after another to curry favor.

“Bishop, Baron Elliot was deceived by others, which led him to take the cult’s medicine. Yet, this heinous murderer brutally killed Baron Elliot….”

“Yes, Bishop…”

These noble relatives were keen on distancing themselves from any connection between their own nobles and the cult while accusing Rein of deliberately murdering the empire’s nobility.

If Bishop Shion had not been familiar with Rein before, he might have hesitated.

But now, after a brief examination of the scene, Bishop Shion was basically certain that everything reported by the temple knights was true.

This location was not only the stronghold of the Black Flame Cult in Meister County but also the deceased nobles and the cult had deep connections.

At this point, Archpriest Rudolph came to Bishop Shion’s side and whispered a few words to him.

Minutes later, Bishop Shion looked around and then nodded to Rein, saying, “Rein, it seems that the Silver Conch Medal was not enough to acknowledge your achievements. I think the Gold Conch Medal would be a more suitable choice.”

“What!”

“The Gold Conch Medal!”

Hearing that Rein deserved the Gold Conch Medal, everyone around looked at him in surprise.

You know, without making a significant contribution and gaining the recognition of the Goddess Church, it was absolutely impossible to obtain a medal at the level of the Gold Conch Medal.

Even the two Sword Bearers couldn’t help but look up at Rein twice.

Especially the relatives of the deceased nobles, they were dumbfounded by this scene.

When they understood the meaning behind Bishop Shion’s words, their faces turned ashen.

Although Bishop Shion did not speak in defense of Rein, everyone present was smart and had already understood the true implication of the Bishop’s intention to award Rein the Gold Conch Medal.

Simply put, it meant, “Rein, you have done very well, and the Goddess Church supports you!”

The Goddess Church openly expressed its support for Rein!

Hearing Bishop Shion’s words, although Rein was not aware of the value of the Gold Conch Medal, it was clear that the bishop was on his side. Therefore, Rein bowed slightly, saying, “Thank you for the affirmation, Bishop!”

At this moment, several noble heirs came to their senses, gritting their teeth and murmuring:

“The Goddess Church is clearly favoring this young man, wait until Count Habbs comes, he will certainly not think so.”

“Exactly, Baron Alonso died at the hands of this man, I don’t believe Count Habbs will stand idly by!”

…..

It seemed that the words of these few men struck a nerve with those relatives of the deceased nobles, giving the group newfound confidence.

Although the power of the Goddess Church is enormous, in the Dragan Empire, the imperial authority is still above the church, meaning the Governor ranks first in a county, and the bishop at most second.

Therefore, in their view, the attitude of Governor Count Habbs was critical.

As the governor of Meister County, whose own son has been killed, how could the murderer remain unharmed?

They couldn’t believe it!

The Shield Bearer and the Wand Bearer, two figures uninterested in the trivial quarrels of those noble relatives, considering the Goddess Church’s Bishop had already arrived and was in support of this young man, decided to leave.

At that moment, a messenger came and reported, “Esteemed lords, Count Habbs has arrived.”

Hearing this, the two exchanged glances. Although they could simply walk away, leaving directly in the face of the Governor would be impolite.

After a moment’s thought, the Shield Bearer said to the Wand Bearer, “Let’s meet him.”

Seeing Count Habbs again, Rein hadn’t expected it to be under these circumstances.

Although, his previous interactions with Count Habbs had been quite pleasant, Rein was well aware that it was because he had demonstrated extraordinary talent and potential that made him worthy of Count Habbs’ respect.

But now, the situation was different; the other’s eldest son had died by his hand.

Indeed, if Alonso hadn’t appeared there, Rein wouldn’t necessarily have had to kill him.

As Rein’s capabilities had rapidly advanced, Alonso, merely at the level of a senior knight, no longer posed a real challenge to him.

Just as a tiger does not pay much attention to a wild dog.

However, this time, Rein had chosen to directly execute the mutated Alonso on the spot in order to fully confront the Black Flame High Priest and eliminate other disturbances.

Meanwhile, Count Habbs, on the way, had almost completely understood the situation from one report to another by the messengers.

So when Habbs saw Rein again, his wise eyes revealed a complex and indescribable expression.

“Rein, I never expected Alonso wouldn’t die at the hands of a true Sword Bearer, but rather at the hands of you, a Sword Bearer candidate, my old friend was not wrong!”

“Ah…” Count Habbs sighed deeply, his expression desolate!

Rein’s eyebrows raised. He hadn’t expected that the implications in Count Habbs’ words seemed to harbor no deep resentment for his killing Alonso.

Was this a case of lifting high and laying down gently?
