Chapter 535: Chapter 234 Departure (Two-in-One Big Chapter)_4

Instead of his initial expectation that it would take at least two or three years and consume a considerable amount of Skill Points.

However…

The only way Rein knew to enhance his beginner talent to an intermediate or even a higher-level advanced talent was by using talent points.

Talent points, oh!

The difficulty of obtaining them was quite high….

When Rein thought about the significant role that trace of divinity played for the Black Flame High Priest, he couldn’t help but shake his head slightly.

If it had not been for the Empire’s Sword Bearer, that burly man with the shield, who used the Imperial Scepter to heavily injure the Black Flame High Priest during his promotion, whether he could have defeated the opponent was questionable.

At that time, just being able to save his life was already quite good.

Even now, although Rein’s strength had improved all around, he still didn’t believe he could defeat the Black Flame High Priest after the promotion, as his opponent’s aura had already surpassed that of a Peak Knight, reaching a higher level.

In other words, if Rein wanted to obtain talent points again, he first needed to have the opportunity to obtain that trace of divinity, like this time eliminating the Cult, and so forth.

Although not every Cult elimination involved encountering a trace of divinity, there was always a chance.

Additionally, he would need a special item similar to the Imperial Scepter to offset the uncertainty brought by that trace of divinity.

After all, so far Rein still didn’t know the specific power of divinity, such as whether defeating the Black Flame High Priest after his promotion would indeed let him obtain that trace of divinity, which was uncertain.

But to meet these two conditions was easier said than done!

After a brief reflection, Rein realized that it seemed only after he joined the Sword Bearers would he possibly meet these two conditions simultaneously.

Moreover, it would be best if he were at the captain level, for clearly, that burly man with the shield last time had the right to use an item like the Imperial Scepter, whereas the young man with the short staff apparently did not have such a privilege.

This thought made Rein’s heart surge with excitement for the upcoming journey to Mingster!

Another day passed.

With the arrival of Vinica, Rein Mansion became even livelier.

Mother Emma was frequently observing Vinica at the welcome banquet, her mind filled with doubts, and taking advantage of the moment when no one was paying attention, she pulled Rein aside and said,

“Anna left, that barbarian girl left too, and now this one who has come is very pretty as well! Rein, you must seize the opportunity this time and not let her leave again.”

Mother Emma’s words left Rein at a loss for how to respond.

“Mother, don’t worry, Anna and the others will come back!”

“They will come back? You’d better grasp the opportunity with this Miss… Vinica. Going to the provincial city on the way is a good opportunity.” Mother Emma gave Rein a look as if to say ‘you’re in a dream,’ clearly disbelieving.

“…”

And Jennifer, the beautiful woman, kept smiling quietly, but her gorgeous eyes occasionally wandered between Rein and the twin-tailed girl.

That very night, Jennifer let Rein experience what is meant by fiery passion.

Luckily, Rein was now a Great Knight. Had he still been a regular knight, he likely couldn’t have avoided feeling weak at the knees….

…

Due to limited time, everyone had to depart the day after Vinica’s arrival.

The weather this morning was quite nice, although it was still a bit cold this season, the early spring sunshine felt warmly comforting.

This time, aside from Rein and Vinica going to Mingster to participate in the Sword Bearer’s examination, Jenny and her close friend Agatha Wiggins, the young Miss of the Wigging family, were also joining.

The Wiggins family’s commercial venture this time also became a shareholder in the newly reorganized Hammer and Rose Commerce led by Jennifer, and when they heard Jenny would go to Mingster to explore the market in the provincial city, they readily agreed and sent Agatha along.

The saying ‘three women make a play’ may be true, and although in Rein’s mind, Vinica and these two were different.

But soon, his perception was overturned.

They hadn’t even departed yet, and the three women quickly warmed up to each other at the mansion’s entrance, chattering excitedly in no time, and occasionally casting flirtatious glances and giggles at Rein.

This indeed added a touch of romance to Rein’s journey to Mingster, making it seem less like attending an examination and more like a noble’s outing.

And Jennifer’s arrangement was, taking advantage of travelling with the strongest fighter of the commerce, to organize a troop of merchants to travel together, hence, at this moment, the entrance of Rein Mansion was quite busy.

Not only were there carriages from the Crowley family, the Wigging family, and other noble families eager to form good relationships, but also a convoy of ten large covered wagons waiting.

When Rein came out with his Greyhound war dog ‘Cookie’, everyone was stunned by the sight of ‘Cookie,’ who was as big as a pony and clad in a beast armor.

“Wow, what a big dog!” Has stared wide-eyed at Cookie.

The twin-tailed girl Vinica knew about Rein’s Blood Feathered Horned Eagle, but had never seen a Greyhound war dog, and immediately stared wide-eyed, exclaiming,

“My goodness! Lord Rein, this couldn’t be a mutated Greyhound, could it?”

Vinica, being a Wizard Apprentice specializing in avian modification, could recognize the original form of the Greyhound war dog at a glance; Rein wasn’t surprised by this.

“Miss Vinica, you have a keen eye,” Rein smiled.

This time going to Mingster, Rein planned to take all three pets, and one of Matteo’s responsibilities was to help him look after these three pets.

Speaking of which, Rein had also taken the time to comfort his sister Mint, as she was quite attached to the Greyhound ‘Cookie.’

At this moment, Matteo came running over and said, “Baron, Archpriest Rudolph from the Goddess Church has come to see you off.”
