Chapter 533: Chapter 234 Departure (Two-in-One Big Chapter)_2

And the system notification also sounded:

[Congratulations, your skill Blood Fury Archery has increased to lv10]

[Congratulations, you have unlocked the exclusive secret technique for Blood Fury Archery: Rapid Continuous Shot lv3!]

[Congratulations, you have unlocked the exclusive secret technique for Blood Fury Archery: Blood Fury Strike lv3!]

[Congratulations, your skill Blood Fury Archery has increased to lv11]

….

The two Blood Fury Archery secret techniques ‘Blood Fury Strike’ and ‘Rapid Continuous Shot’ have now both been upgraded to lv3.

By this point, the skill points gained from the Deadly Poison Master advancing five levels were completely depleted.

Since Rein’s Bear King Breathing Technique had already reached lv14, when Blood Fury Archery reached lv11, he faintly felt further transformation signs in his control over archery.

Furthermore, due to Rein’s previous breakthrough experience with the Tokkal Hammer Technique’s secret technique ‘Shockwave,’ after a bit of thought, he knew there was a high chance that just one or at most two more skill points invested in Blood Fury Archery would allow him to grasp its related secret techniques.

That couldn’t help but make him a bit excited.

“If I also master the secret techniques of long-range attacks, then from the standpoint of a Great Knight, even by the standards of a hexagonal warrior regarding strength, speed, skill, offense, defense, and combat experience, I would have at least covered five sides!”

“The missing side is, at most, experience.”

“Now that both my melee and long-range attacks have been enhanced and my defense has also….”

“Wait, I seem to have forgotten something.” A flash of lightning crossed Rein’s mind, and immediately, he thought of a problem.

Enhancing his own defense, besides relying on the innate ‘Intermediate Steel Body,’ there was also knight plate armor and shields!

Exactly!

The shield.

Rein immediately returned to the study and found that parchment scroll—’Rocken’s Single-Handed Axe Combat Skill Outline’—which Matteo had retrieved from the body of the rebel general Parix.

Although its name was Single-Handed Axe Combat Skill Outline, it was actually an Extraordinary Battle Technique combining axe and shield, where a large section described the use of a single-handed axe, and a smaller section also explained a lot about shield defense techniques.

“If I really find myself in a passive position to be hit, if I learn this set of Axe & Shield Extraordinary Battle Technique, the defensive power would also implicitly increase.”

“Plus, there’s that move ‘Rocken Axe Skill secret technique—Flash Cut!’ Overall, this set of Axe & Shield Extraordinary Battle Technique, whether it’s offense or defense, is quite awesome.”

“I might as well learn it slowly; it might come in handy at some time.”

….

Hence, Rein returned to the indoor training ground, and following the human figure diagrams drawn on the ‘Rocken Axe & Shield Combat Technique’ parchment scroll, he began to practice each move one by one.

After a while, the system notification sounded:

[You practiced Rocken Axe & Shield Combat Technique, comprehension increased!]

[You have comprehended a new skill—Rocken Axe & Shield Combat Technique]

[Your skill Rocken Axe & Shield Combat Technique has been enhanced, experience +1]

Rocken Axe & Shield Combat Technique lv1 (1/100) appears on the Weapon Master (Legendary) job panel. The icon is of a tall and sturdy man with his left hand holding a shield and his right hand holding a single-handed axe. The whole person stands straddle-legged, shield in front, axe in the rear, in a cautious defensive posture, solid as a rock.

Just as Rein was planning to practice some more to upgrade it to lv2, a knock on the training room door sounded.

“Knock knock knock!”

“Baron sir, a Knight named Hass Klein from Rosby County has come to visit, claiming to be your friend.”

Huh?

Speak of the devil!

Rein’s face brightened, saying, “Please invite him to the parlor, I’ll be right there!”

“Also, bring up two cups of gorse tea and a serving of pastries.”

“Yes sir, Baron sir!” The servant respectfully withdrew.

….

A few minutes later.

Inside the parlor.

Hass, seeing Rein, was obviously thrilled, stepping forward and hugging Rein tightly: “Rein! Long time no see!”

Rein also patted Hass’s shoulder, smiling and said, “Hass, welcome to Meister.”

“Eh? Rein, have you grown taller?” Hass then showed surprise, comparing their heights with his hand, and marveling.

“You’ve definitely gotten taller.”

Rein’s mind stirred, realizing he hadn’t paid attention to his height and weight for a while.

Indeed, when Rein had attended the noble ennoblement assessment in Rosby City with Hass, he was only about 1.9 meters, while Hass had been half a head taller than him back then.

But now, their heights were nearly the same, and he even slightly towered over Hass.

This… his height must be around two meters now.

No wonder Jennifer said she found it a bit overwhelming….

Rein suddenly realized!

If Jennifer, the beautiful woman, heard Rein’s thoughts, she would definitely scoff.

Without being a knight, it’s certainly overwhelming for an ordinary woman to deal with a man of two meters tall with extraordinary stamina who occasionally prefers the road less traveled!

“By the way, Rein, you mentioned you needed my help this time. Does it involve delaying me for a month or two?”

“No problem, I’ve already requested a full two months leave from my superior,” Hass clapped his chest and laughed heartily.

Rein smiled at that.

He loved Hass’s straightforward nature; although sometimes he spoke bluntly, as a friend, at least there was no need to worry about being stabbed in the back.

“This time, besides inviting you to appreciate the scenery of Meister County, in a few days, I’m going to Mingster to participate in the Sword Bearer assessment. So, I’d like to entrust you with the safety of my mansion.”
