Chapter 517: Chapter 230 Arrival (Two in One Mega Chapter)_2

Because the High Priest had received intelligence about Rein before, he knew that Rein excelled at using the two-handed warhammer and greatsword, but when had Rein become proficient with the bow and arrow?

Just now, every one of Rein’s arrows had found its mark.

Among them, several arrows had skewered two cultists together like a calabash, and there was even one arrow that pierced through three people at once!

Originally, he had thought that if Rein used a greatsword or a warhammer, these close combat weapons, he would be severely injured by the cultists’ suicide attacks, or at the very least, be in a dire state.

The current outcome slightly irritated the High Priest, causing his previously mocking attitude to tighten up a bit.

At this time, although this wave of Black Flame cultists’ suicide attacks had all been killed by Rein,

there were only three arrows left in Rein’s quiver!

At this moment, a smile couldn’t help but emerge on the High Priest’s portly face as he said, “Young man, not bad archery skills.”

“Pity, you’ve only got three arrows left now, it seems….”

As the High Priest was speaking, Rein “whoosh!” raised his hand and let an arrow fly!

What a lot of nonsense!

The steel arrow, like silver lightning, assaulted the High Priest!

However, just as it was about to strike the target, a muffled ‘thump’ sounded!

The arrow stopped about thirty centimeters from the High Priest’s corpulent body, blocked by a layer of black Flame Shield. The end of the arrow trembled slightly, with the arrowhead struggling to break through the black flames encircling the High Priest.

“Black Flame Protection!” Rein’s eyes narrowed; he recalled the situation when he had fought the Black Flame Guardian before, he had seen this sorcery.

The steel arrow had created a bowl-shaped dent in the circle of black flame, almost breaking through the High Priest’s defense, but just missing by a little.

Although the High Priest was unharmed, the small eyes with which he looked at Rein no longer held contempt.

For he knew how strong his own Black Flame Protection’s defensive power was, but it had nearly been pierced by this young man’s arrow!

This Rein was much more powerful than the information had suggested!

Moreover, from the battle just now, he sensed that the opponent was not a Peak Knight but a Great Knight!

So, this was your confidence!

However, suddenly, a smile appeared on the High Priest’s chubby face as he said, “Interesting, interesting, it looks like we can have some real fun now!”

“Perhaps the prayer ceremony could add another sacrifice that will please my lord.”

The High Priest raised his hand and waved it.

“Rein, this time you’re definitely dead! Now, you’ve only got three arrows left in your hand, right?” a sinister voice came through!

Lamar, leading a dozen or more Black Flame disciples, had encircled Rein from behind in a fan shape without notice.

At this time, Lamar looked at Rein quite smugly and said, “If this wasn’t our lair, perhaps you might have turned the tables on us once again!”

“But what a pity! You chose the wrong place!”

Lamar’s voice grew more strident; it was unclear if it was the influence of the ceremony, or the mental distortion from feeling victorious, but his entire face became distorted and somewhat mad.

Rein glanced indifferently at Lamar and said, “A lair? What of it!”

“Whoosh!”

A giant hound the size of a small pony, carrying a dual-handed warhammer and dual-handed greatsword, and bringing a strong gust of wind, charged into the enclosure and stopped next to Rein.

This was ‘Cookie,’ the greyhound war dog Rein had left in the carriage, awaiting his master’s call.

Including Lamar, all the Black Flame disciples stared blankly at the giant hound that suddenly appeared.

Rein quickly grabbed the warhammer and hung the war bow on the greyhound. After patting it, the giant dog swiftly moved away from the central area, lurking on the edges.

The High Priest squinted his eyes and gave Rein a sidelong glance, also quite astonished!

He finally understood why previous attempts by the church against Rein had all ended in failure.

Because most people would have a backup plan, but the young man before him had unexpectedly prepared three or four!

Even more astonished was Alonso on the side.

Not only had a bird of prey delivered a war bow, but now a dog had brought weapons to Rein, which was unbelievable!

Since when did Rein become a Beast Tamer?

He had tamed not only an eagle but also a dog?

Damn it all! There wouldn’t be a horse next, would there?

As soon as Rein grabbed the dark warhammer, he spun around, facing away from the High Priest toward Lamar and the other Black Flame disciples.

With a tap of his toe, the ground shattered, and the powerful reactive force propelled Rein forward with great velocity!

At the same time, Rein raised the Warhammer with both hands high and hammered it mightily onto the ground!

“Boom!”

As the secret technique ‘Shockwave’ was unleashed, a strange fluctuation spread like a tsunami from the warhammer, sweeping through a large semi-circular area tens of meters in front of him, affecting all living and nonliving things within it!

The ground where the warhammer contacted started to crack and break!

Within the area, those Black Flame disciples, whose strength was akin to seasoned Knights, all froze, their faces of utter horror remained unchanged!

However, one thing was certain, their eyes had already lost their sparkle…

Within seconds, including Lamar, their bodies began to collapse unevenly onto the ground, blood oozing from their mouths and other orifices…
