Chapter 546: Chapter 237: The Siege Hammer from Meister! (2-in-1 Mega Chapter)_3

Vinica, standing beside Rein, whispered, “Lord Rein, this is a treasure of the elemental series, Obsidian Essence, rare and extremely expensive.”

Hearing Vinica’s words, several young people nearby couldn’t help but cast their glances at Rein.

This made Rein feel a bit embarrassed; it wasn’t intentional on his part.

He didn’t want to waste the empire’s property either.

About seven or eight minutes later, the persistent energy fluctuations of the witchcraft slowly subsided.

As the witchcraft ended, Rein could feel that the elder Wizard of the Earth element must be very tired, as his face had noticeably become haggard.

However, when the two-story tall Obsidian Giant stood up once more, unscathed, Rein couldn’t help but admire the elder’s witchcraft.

“Lord Rein, with elemental creatures like this, if you can’t destroy their elemental core, even without specialized treatment, their injuries will slowly heal over time,” Vinica continued to explain to Rein.

“Oh? So there’s such a thing, meaning, to completely annihilate an elemental creature, one must find and shatter its core, right?”

“That’s right.”

So elemental creatures have a core.

It seems that he hadn’t damaged the core of the Obsidian Giant just now; otherwise, it would have been permanently dead and unable to heal again.

Moreover, Rein had now witnessed the miraculous effects of witchcraft.

The elder Earth Wizard had used the rare Obsidian Essence to completely heal the heavily injured Obsidian Giant in just ten minutes.

Rein couldn’t help feeling quite envious.

Right then, his longing for the metal elemental witchcraft, which he had been eagerly anticipating, grew even stronger.

One of his key goals for joining the Sword Bearer organization was to obtain the nearly extinct metal elemental witchcraft from outside sources.

Looks like he was more than halfway there!

“Now, let the assessment continue, number three!” The middle-aged Great Knight was busy running around, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and continued to shout loudly.

He glanced at Rein, thinking, fortunately, this guy didn’t hit the core of the Obsidian Giant; otherwise, the Sword Bearer trials for today would not be able to continue.

Additionally, when the number three candidate passed him on the way to the center of the arena, he was very cautious and didn’t say anything about “going all out” this time.

After all, it’s better to be safe than sorry!

However, the situation on the field had changed.

The newly healed Obsidian Giant, seemingly still wary of Rein, consequently became very cautious and careful when facing all the candidates in Knight Armor.

This made the Obsidian Giant naturally more difficult to deal with.

At that moment, the third candidate clad in knight plate armor was having a tough time!

Initially, he had wanted to use the same tactic as Rein at the beginning, running at high speed under the feet of the Obsidian Giant and then leveraging the giant’s large stature and slow turns to fight closely, hoping to last at least a minute without much trouble.

But now it was different!

When the Obsidian Giant saw the ‘little fellow’ in Knight Armor charging at him, its large dark face displayed a very human-like expression of lingering fear.

And it immediately deployed its trump card – Boulder Trample!

A powerful ability reserved for when the Obsidian Giant faced a formidable enemy, consuming a significant amount of its own energy.

Just as number three, wielding a Dual-Handed Greatsword, charged forward, his eyes widened in surprise as he saw the Obsidian Giant stomp heavily on the ground.

“Boom!”

Instantly, the ground within a radius of more than twenty meters around the stomp point violently Shocked.

This made the third candidate, who had just reached near the giant, struggle as the ground beneath him turned soft like noodles, undulating up and down, which severely reduced his speed and nearly caused him to lose his footing.

Just as he had barely regained his balance, he felt two huge shadows accompanied by a powerful gust of wind rushing towards him!

“Bang! Bang!”

The third candidate barely managed to block before being quickly hammered to the ground by a combination of the Obsidian Giant’s rock giant fists, failing the assessment on the spot.

“Duration of twelve seconds, not qualified!” shouted a nearby staff member.

Suddenly, this made the rest of the candidates turn their gazes back to Rein among the crowd.

Facing everyone’s stares, Rein touched his nose, feeling quite embarrassed for a moment, thinking, don’t blame me, after all, as the examiner said, luck is also a part of strength.

If you had been before me in the order, this wouldn’t have happened!

But…

There are pros and cons to everything. For those adept at long-range attacks like Wizard Apprentices or archers, this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, and Vinica passed without much trouble.

Soon after, the red-haired beauty Evelyn also barely made it through.

Two hours later, when all candidates had finished the assessment, the middle-aged Great Knight announced, “Those who have not passed the assessment, please follow our staff to leave the arena now.”

Immediately, many young people in the field showed signs of disappointment and began to leave gradually.

But the atmosphere quickly grew lively again as the heads of other functional departments, who had been standing next to the middle-aged Great Knight, began to act, stepping down to the field and conversing with these ‘failures’ who were leaving.

As for those who remained, Rein looked around and saw there were still about thirty people.

“Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations on passing the Sword Bearer assessment. The relevant procedures will take three days to complete. You can relax for these few days, and there will be a notice for further matters in due time.”
