Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 838: Chapter 836: Enemy Hero

As the Black Spear Camp appeared on the battlefield, all the human forces fighting the Cultists were stunned.

They could clearly see the situation of the Black Spear Camp; not to mention other aspects, just the metallic shell hidden in the black smoke surpassed the imagination of these soldiers.

The most important reason is that due to prolonged combat, coupled with the priority selection authority, now all the lancers in the Black Spear Camp, regardless of whether they started as Skeletons, Zombies, or Ghosts, have all reached Level 7.

Even among the human forces, they are considered extremely powerful elite troops.

As soon as they appeared, Gu Xi pointed to the battlefield in front and said.

”Arroyo, Black Spear Camp, attack!”

Upon hearing this command, Arroyo, who was at the front of the team, brightened his eyes.

This was his opportunity.

”Black Spear Camp, thrust!”

In the black smoke, the Black Spear Camp formed ten rows, and the long spears thrust forward.

With this thrust, over four hundred long spears pierced out from the black smoke, immediately stabbing the rushing Cultists.

The Cultists’ level was relatively high, so even when stabbed to the ground, they were not instantly dead.

In fact, they had a chance for a counterattack.

But the fighting style of the Black Spear Camp had already been formed; they never cared whether the enemies they stabbed died. After stabbing the enemies, they only moved forward.

And as they moved forward, the rear spears would thrust out again, giving a second wave to any enemies that weren’t dead.

Therefore, the fighting style of the Black Spear Camp resembled a wave harvesting machine.

As long as they struck fast enough, the enemy’s counterattack would not hit them.

As soon as the Black Spear Camp struck, they rushed nearly thirty meters past the defensive line.

At this point, the Cultists began to react.

Among them, some mutated beings started rushing forward recklessly; some even jumped seven or eight meters, trying to scatter the Black Spear Camp’s battle array within the black fog.

Everyone could clearly see that the greatest advantage of the Black Spear Camp was its battle array.

As long as they disrupted the Black Spear Camp’s battle array, turning the battle into a melee, they would still have a chance.

But Arroyo was already waiting here. Seeing the jumping enemies, Arroyo shouted loudly.

”Raise the spears, thrust upward!”

The Black Spear Camp had experienced so many battles; they were already used to facing various enemies.

Whether the enemies came from the sky or emerged from the ground, the Black Spear Camp had methods for handling and responding.

In fact, they did not need Arroyo’s command; seeing the enemy jump up, they knew what to do.

Within the rear, the counter-lancers jumped up, picking the enemies from the sky.

Then the other lancers thrust forward, progressing at an incredibly fast pace.

But the Cultists reacted quickly too; upon discovering they couldn’t stop the Black Spear Camp and that jumpslashes were ineffective, they immediately changed tactics.

They started flanking attacks.

These Cultists were precise in their thinking; the greatest advantage of the Black Spear Camp lay in its battle array.

But the greatest weakness also lay in its battle array.

Their array could only attack in one direction, and adjusting it was more difficult than for the cavalry.

Therefore, for the Black Spear Camp, the black smoke acted as a protective color, obscuring view of the situation within.

This ensured that the Black Spear Camp remained in a proactive state.

Now, the Cultists began their side attack immediately, clearly trying to test the defense tactics on the sides of the Black Spear Camp with their lives.

Gu Xi naturally couldn’t let their idea succeed.

Thus, standing atop the Soul Summoning Tower, Gu Xi, holding the Illusion Magic Wand, pointed heavily at the ground.

”Soul Summoning Skill!”

Under this skill, all the enemies just killed by the Black Spear Camp rose up from the ground.

The mutated Cultists immediately transformed into various types of Zombies, their bodies extremely tough, blocking other Cultists’ attacks head-on.

However, the thing surprising Gu Xi the most wasn’t this, but the Cultists dressed in black robes, holding daggers.

They clearly had little mana and couldn’t perform any spells, yet under the Soul Summoning Skill’s judgment, they were considered part of the magic system.

As magical system corpses, even if subpar, they could be summoned as Corpse Witches.

Thus, in the black smoke, a large group of ordinary Corpse Witches appeared.

Though these Corpse Witches didn’t have a hero commanding them, there were many bosses leading within them.

They worked together to quickly form combat power.

The Cultists trying to flank from the sides immediately ran into the Zombies rushing out from the black fog.

Before they could break through the zombie defense line, the Corpse Witches’ attacks arrived.

These were the most ordinary Corpse Witches, not promoted types like Corpse Witch King; they utilized spells like Poison Gas Bomb and Poison Cloud Technique.

Some were single-target while others were area attacks.

Under different Corpse Witch bosses’ command, they naturally employed different skills.

Some directly used Poison Gas Bombs, hitting the rushing Cultists.

Others teamed up to use Poison Cloud Technique, creating a layer of poison gas within the Cultists’ range.

In any case, this counterattack made the Cultists understand.

It turns out the Black Spear Camp indeed had defenses, even possessing ranged attack capabilities within their ranks.

Taking down the Black Spear Camp is apparently not achievable through side flanking.

Suddenly, a loud command emerged among the Cultists.

At this moment, Gu Xi noticed this figure; the person wearing a black robe similar to ordinary Cultists, holding a not-so-long dagger.

Blending with the Cultists’ crowd, if not for him coordinating everything, no one would have even noticed his presence.

Yet with his command, the Cultists’ actions became evidently orderly.

Gu Xi immediately realized he was a hero among the Cultists.

He seemed to be a hidden persona among them.

In normal playthroughs, players wouldn’t encounter him.

That’s because a normally strategic player wouldn’t proactively provoke so many enemies.

They would only proceed via the dark passage emerging from that house on the left.

Here, it would be combat between British soldiers and Cultists.

It’s even possible that this Cultist hero corresponds to a leader of some British faction.

Implemented to balance the internal power of the map.

However, they encountered Gu Xi, rendering everything ineffective.

Looking at the Cultist hero, Gu Xi decisively commanded.

”Bone Titan, strike him with lightning.”
