Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 813: Chapter 811: Breaching the City

Standing before the Yaliduwei City Wall, looking at the Yaliduwei City in front of him, Gu Xi felt that the style of Yaliduwei in this era seemed significantly different from the Yaliduwei he had previously occupied.

The buildings in front were mostly small castles focused on defense, and some houses even had high towers rising from them.

Gu Xi had also heard about this situation from Eldest Princess Anna.

Because during the century-long York Dynasty, the dynasty changed back and forth, even Victoria City was affected.

Here, conflicts were endless, and the buildings inside the city were leveled again and again. Eventually, they all learned, no matter what, to protect their own homes first, so that even if great chaos occurred in Victoria City, their own homes wouldn’t simply be lost.

As a result, the current style began transitioning towards that of small castles.

This city in front, if truly engaged in urban combat, would be much harder to conquer than during the Tudor Period.

Gu Xi stood at the forefront of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, gazing calmly at the city wall ahead.

Due to the style of the city behind, many arrow towers and magic towers appeared on the city wall.

By the time Mido came over, there were already some Deceitful Shadows on these arrow towers.

These Deceitful Shadows, possessing long-range capabilities, launched attacks on Mido’s troops immediately.

However, Mido’s men didn’t take the usual path. Faced with such an attack, Mido didn’t retreat but employed various means to drill into the ground.

Mido himself took a Corpse-Transforming Worm and immediately burrowed underground.

Seeing Mido’s reaction, the Deceitful Shadows on the city wall were enraged.

This underground movement was their skill, and someone dared to engage them in underground combat.

This was truly reckless.

A group of Deceitful Shadows leaped from the city wall and vanished into the shadows of the wall.

At this moment, Gu Xi arrived with his troops.

Seeing the situation before him, he was somewhat puzzled. Didn’t Mido charge forward initially?

How did he disappear in the blink of an eye?

Confusion aside, Gu Xi, after positioning his troops, quickly made arrangements.

This battle in front of him was Gu Xi’s first serious siege battle.

In previous sieges, Gu Xi simply employed city gates to handle them directly.

He hadn’t really conducted a frontal siege like this before.

Fortunately, Gu Xi had prepared some siege weaponry, and he himself had some siege methods.

This time, Gu Xi naturally brought all the siege weapons with him.

He raised his Illusion Magic Wand and pointed at the city wall ahead.

”Undead Boss, listen to the command. All Ghosts and Zombie Corps get ready to deploy. Ghosts fly onto the city wall to prevent the arrow towers from activating, and Zombies approach the city wall to launch a destructive attack.”

Under Gu Xi’s command, the Ghosts and Zombie Bosses quickly set out.

The Ghosts swiftly flew up towards the Deceitful Shadows atop the city wall.

Meanwhile, the Zombies formed into small squads, carrying heavy weapons, and charged to the front of the city wall.

As they initiated their charge, the arrow towers on the city wall naturally started operating too.

However, under Gu Xi, all the Undead were at Level 5 or above, and they were also bolstered by Yaliduwei City.

Even back then, an Evilized Locust from an Insect Swarm could elevate combat power to that of a normal Ghost. Imagine how significantly Yaliduwei City bolstered them.

Now, these Zombies, each as robust as a Level 10 Sewn Monster, were hardly affected by normal bow and arrow attacks.

They were advancing under the barrage of arrows, charging directly beneath the city wall.

Under Gu Xi’s command, all Zombie Bosses maximized their imagination.

Some were stacking on top of each other, climbing straight up the city wall.

Some were using heavy weapons to bash the wall.

Others were simply crashing into the city wall with their bodies.

No matter what method they employed, just this first wave of impact made the city wall sway unsteadily.

These Zombies didn’t stop; they continued to crash or hammer at the wall.

The Deceitful Shadows atop the wall wanted to rush down to stop them but were entirely blocked by the Ghosts, unable to break through.

In such a situation, no matter how anxious the Deceitful Shadows were, they could only watch the city wall being slowly dismantled.

As the first section of the city wall cracked and fell, the remaining wall rapidly collapsed as well.

Forcefully, the entire side of the city wall was knocked down.

With the wall down, Gu Xi saw the Deceitful Shadows inside, already ready for urban combat.

These Deceitful Shadows were numerous, unlike the hundreds Gu Xi had previously faced in each district.

These Deceitful Shadows stacked together, forming a black mass, numbering no less than seven to eight thousand.

They differed from the Deceitful Shadows on the wall in that some parts of their bodies had solidified, with some pale white marks appearing on their black skin.

When the wall collapsed, they raised weapons and charged towards the Zombies, seemingly trying to seize the opportunity to overturn the Zombie Corps intruding into the city.

But they hadn’t imagined that as they charged forward, they would encounter Mido’s troops emerging from the underground.

Mido had come ahead of Gu Xi, burrowing underground before Gu Xi arrived, to battle the underground Deceitful Shadows.

Thus unaware of Gu Xi’s subsequent commands and tactics. After killing the viable underground Deceitful Shadows, Mido naturally emerged from underground.

His target was just behind the city wall.

In Mido’s mind, if he could burrow behind the city wall and ambush the Deceitful Shadows’ lair, he could achieve more victories.

But he didn’t expect that he would emerge right when the Deceitful Shadows were charging.

When they broke ground, they found themselves right in the middle-rear of the Deceitful Shadows.

As they emerged, they saw the situation before them.

Mido was delighted; this was a great opportunity.

Thus, Mido immediately led his troops to attack the rear of the Deceitful Shadows.

In an instant, the charging ranks of the Deceitful Shadows were thrown into chaos.

Seeing this, Amirka promptly contacted Gu Xi.

”My lord, the enemy is in disarray. This is a perfect opportunity for a charge; don’t miss this chance.”

Gu Xi understood what Amirka wanted to do, ”Red Knights, advance. Amirka, take over the district before us.”

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s command, Amirka excitedly replied.

”Rest assured, my lord, everyone, Scarlet Blazing Fire, charge!”
