Once the Death Ripple was unleashed, all of Gu Xi’s undead erupted.

In their view, with Gu Xi under the protection of the army, yet still being attacked upfront, this was their dereliction.

Thus, whether it was a hero under Gu Xi, or those bosses, or even some undead soldiers with their own spiritual wisdom, all raised their weapons and hacked at the nearby Deceitful Shadows that hadn’t died yet.

The weak Deceitful Shadows that had just rushed out of the housing were directly toppled by Gu Xi’s men.

Gu Xi’s men vented all their anger onto these houses quite decisively.

Gu Xi, who released the Death Ripple, was also a bit displeased.

Just now, a lot of Deceitful Shadows were killed, but they surprisingly had no level.

This meant killing these Deceitful Shadows yielded no experience.

Initially, Gu Xi thought he could harvest forty to fifty thousand experience points from this wave of kills.

Now it seemed he was indeed overly optimistic.

The speed of leveling up slows down significantly the further he progresses.

Now it’s better to deal with these Deceitful Shadows first.

Gu Xi sat back in the seat of the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, watching the battle below.

His undead were already bloodthirsty, with some starting to advance into the rear urban districts.

Another group, upon slaying the enemy, quickly began to clean up the battlefield.

Due to Gu Xi’s initial orders, everything belonged to the undead. These undead held Deceitful Energy Pearls, directly converting them into Yin Qi and Negative Energy to strengthen themselves.

Additionally, some were directly searching through the toppled houses for items.

Most of the stones and wood used for constructing houses were left behind, these being building materials the undead couldn’t use, whereas smaller decorations inside were completely divided among the undead.

However, Gu Xi soon noticed a zombie corps acting quite peculiar.

Under the leadership of a Zombie Boss, they were sorting out stones and wood.

”What are you doing?”

Gu Xi used the Eye of the Soul and directly transmitted the question into the Zombie Boss’s mind.

The Zombie Boss paused, looking in Gu Xi’s direction.

”Master.”

”What are you doing?”

Gu Xi asked again.

”Master, I’m making battering rams. I found myself lacking other abilities, only knowing some carpentry, but not proficient. Fortunately, there are surplus materials here, so I’m thinking of making some battering rams.

With just around ten zombies lifting them up, once rammed, we can impact the city wall.

Although I am unsure of the impact’s magnitude, it should suffice for my intentions.”

Listening to these words, Gu Xi was somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected this Zombie Boss to be so inventive.

This is a shift in his focus, moving from combat forces to logistics units.

However, after contemplating, Gu Xi understood the Zombie Boss’s thoughts.

Given the multitude of combat forces under Gu Xi, lacking distinct abilities might mean even the barracks’ campaign assignments might not reach him.

By having the capability to break through city walls, relevant campaign tasks would consider him in the future.

Even if he cannot participate in the current battle, the barracks’ future experience would still sustain him.

The growth potential for this Zombie Boss is indeed high.

Just as Gu Xi nodded approvingly, intending to encourage this Zombie Boss, a chaotic noise suddenly emanated from the edge of the urban district.

Gu Xi looked up towards the direction of the chaos, noticing abundant Deceitful Shadow squads appearing in the three urban districts connecting to this one.

It seemed Gu Xi’s earlier siege had drawn the attention of these districts.

Rather than awaiting death in their districts, they organized their squads to respond swiftly.

The forces from these three urban districts were distinctly different.

To the east of this urban district was an area clearly inhabited by nobles, from which emerged Deceitful Shadows, all black with only human upper bodies, bizarrely fused with warhorses.

They carried long spears of an eerie white, emanating thread-like evil qi, leaving behind what resembled purple-black liquid on the ground.

They numbered approximately eight hundred, yet advanced with a chilling momentum.

Though they appeared as cavalry, their movement speed was not swift, instead resembling a rolling mudstone, slowly progressing within their district.

To the west of this urban district was a market initially, seemingly selling poultry and livestock such as cattle, sheep, pigs, and horses.

The Deceitful Shadows emerging from here largely appeared like animals, though each was exceptionally larger than typical ones, totaling significantly higher numbers than the cavalry’s mere eight hundred, exceeding fifty thousand twisted animal Deceitful Shadows.

These Deceitful Shadows exhibited distinct disparities in strength, unlike the cavalry where the power was uniformly above Level 5, possibly reaching Level 7, comparable to Gu Xi’s forces.

However, the twisted animals differed, ranging from weak Level 1 or 2 going up to strong Level 7 or 8, with the stronger ones manifesting human features and becoming increasingly deceitful in appearance.

Lastly, from the southern urban district, appeared Deceitful Shadows numbering around thirty thousand, with variable heights, resembling transformed zombies.

Beneath their deceitful black skin, bone fragments were visible.

Among the zombie horde were some larger entities, similar to those from the west, indicating some stronger deceitful forms mixed amongst the predominantly weaker ones.

Yet, the southern Deceitful Shadows were fewer in number, lacking physical advantages or sufficient combat power.

Those at the highest level were likely only around Level 6, unlike the animals in the west with Level 8 subordinates, or the cavalry in the east, all being Level 5 and above.

For unknown reasons, Gu Xi perceived the southern enemies as the most threatening.

Thus, Gu Xi deployed the Spirit Lamp and Yellow Springs Dragon Robe’s Equipment Carrier, attentively observing the south. He discovered something possibly concealed behind the southern troops, yet it remained dormant.

Surveying the situation before him, Gu Xi decisively ordered: ”Kaga, Robbie, Arroyo, take your troops, target the south, slay all enemies.”
