Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1000: Chapter 106: Fruit 1

Three months later—

Three planets, Immortal Energy Star, Blue Forest Star, and Ice Planet were successfully explored, and the Star Destroyer now had over a thousand new players.

This is just the beginning.

After completing the star map exploration, next, the Star Destroyer, and other starships under Gao Gong’s command, will follow the map and continuously transport players to these three planets for the upcoming battle for the stars.

During this process, the players had their eyes opened; whether it’s the wasteland style of Immortal Energy Star, the deserted Ice Planet, or the Blue Forest Star enveloped by mutant rain forests, all of them widened the players’ perspectives. Especially the last one, Blue Forest Star, where players even saw a space race that had migrated to this planet, a wise species resembling lizards.

However, no matter the case, this journey finally reached its end, and the players on these three planets boarded the Star Destroyer, starting their return voyage to the First Stellar Vortex.

Inside the Star Destroyer, players from different planets began trading the specialties of each planet. Whether it’s the breathing techniques from Immortal Energy Star, the ice mining materials from Ice Planet, or the plant weapons from Blue Forest Star, all were very popular.

After enduring the high-intensity toughness of the Cyber Test Field, players indeed had some good stuff on hand, such as the breathing techniques that could be farmed for points, the plant weapon system that could evolve, and low-temperature energy materials. Even quite a few NPCs came over to participate in the player-organized trade fair.

And these wealthy NPCs were very welcome.

Dr. Yuu stopped at a small stall, looking at the vendor with interest, eyeing the small tree-man.

Among the three planets, the first two were inhabited by humanoid creatures, only the Blue Forest Star players belonged to the alien species known as ’Blue Forest Tree Elf’.

At first glance, it looked like a big tree with facial features.

”This beautiful lady boss, what would you like?” the tree elf smiled, rubbing his little tree branches.

Dr. Yuu glanced at the stall:

”Tier 2 bark, tier 2 branches, tier 1 tree heart, these all fell off your body?”

”Hehe, yes, these barks are fresh, just shed today.” Players were selling the fresh, verdant tree bark.

”This seems to have some snake-like evolutionary quality, a fusion of biological and plant systems. But the ’tree heart’ can also shed?” Dr. Yuu pointed to the fist-sized ’blue sapphire’ and asked.

In her sensing, this seemed to be a high-density life crystal.

”Oh, this dropped when I defeated someone else; the tree heart is our source of energy, it can’t be sold casually.”

”How much for all of these?”

The small player’s spirit lifted:

”All for just 100 Credit Points, or you could trade tier 2 equipment, I like that big mecha!”

”How much are you worth?” Dr. Yuu suddenly asked.

”Huh? Boss, I sell my skills, not myself, and I’m a tree!”

”Cooperate with me on research, and I’ll give you a hidden task.”

Now the NPCs of the Cybertron Corps know how to utilize these ’special soldier species’, according to Mr. G’s approach, these species were implanted with several special commands during creation, triggering them to produce stress responses. These commands include but are not limited to ’hidden tasks’, ’enhanced favorability’, ’special drops’, ’version enhancement’.

The tree elf shivered at these words and immediately exclaimed excitedly, ”No problem, Ma’am!”

As the tree elf left, following Dr. Yuu, not far away, an old-timer from the Mechanical Split Star couldn’t help shaking his head.

”Another one fooled.”

As NPCs increasingly understand players, likewise, players will increasingly understand NPCs, knowing which NPCs like painting big pictures. Dr. Yuu from the Biological Research Department is an expert at painting a big picture; statistics show that doing her tasks is quite cost-inefficient.

The stall players are just a small portion; more players are chatting idly.

Complaining about the Cyber Test Field’s abnormal difficulty, defying newbie guides, unreasonable monster strength, players from different planets always find common ground.

However, soon, everyone’s conversation will turn to the current NPC camp discussion, as this is everyone’s first time joining an interstellar camp.

What’s the technological level of this camp? Is there species purity? Are the rewards sufficient? Is there a variety of professional systems?

Though this is everyone’s first contact with the interstellar camp, those who can enter first are planet-level high-end players with an eye for judgment. After a simple understanding, they find this camp is extraordinary, featuring carbon-based professions, mechanical professions, exoskeleton equipment systems, biological weapons, and information measuring professions—it’s got everything.

Know that generally, a faction with a complete set of professional systems is already impressive, and more importantly, each professional system seems to be developed quite well.

Moreover, this camp will soon have a ’city-building task’.

According to rumors, the next target of the Cybertron Corps is to conquer a resource planet.

Nothing is more exciting than this kind of large-scale task.

Also, because of this, these new players are very curious about the Cybertron Corps and want to learn everything about this new camp.

To understand the camp, naturally, one cannot neglect the camp’s leader, the mysterious General Cybertron.

”I say, why do you call the General Mr. G? Isn’t his position the leader of the corps?”

”You mean Old G, back in Nightless City I already noticed his protagonist aura, he even did my appendix surgery,” an old player from Mechanical Split Star couldn’t help but talk big, attracting a circle of newcomers.

Prosthetic Doctor, new Hunter system creator, Biological Expert, Cyber Hacker, main task guide...

It’s because of someone’s various chaotic and unpredictable identities that when Gao Gong suddenly transformed into the Mechanical Leader once more, players only said ’Oh’ and felt no surprise at all.

”Speaking of which, have you met the General?” A tree-man from Blue Forest Star asked curiously.

”Met him, Boss Gao is our ancestor,” another player from Immortal Energy Star said proudly.

”Who is Boss Gao again?”

”Boss Gao is General G, and concurrently, our Cyber Ancestor. When we transform, we can channel his power.”

”That’s impressive! Why don’t we get such benefits?” another player said enviously.

”Because our zombie system inherently adapts to the High Ancestor,” zombie players said proudly.

Just as players were chatting away, suddenly, the space windows inside the Star Destroyer’s cabin slowly opened, vast, empty cosmic starry sky appeared in everyone’s view.

”This ship is of great quality, no dizziness when it stops,”

”No kidding, it’s a superluminal spaceship, if you felt dizzy, you’d be gone.”

”Is this stopping for recharging?”

”Probably, I guess it’s recharging too.”

”This spaceship is quite environmentally friendly.”

A group of players talked high and mighty without understanding.

”Superluminal spaceship recharging? What’s this like airplanes burning coal stoves? You guys need to be a bit smarter.”

A player following the Mechanic flow complained.

Light-speed spaceships travel in a straight line, representing physical distance, while superluminal spaceships already involve ’dimensional ascension’ and ’dimensional reduction’ concepts. Each time a ’dimension change’ occurs, it triggers large-scale space storms; during continuous adjustment of dimension frequency, space storms accumulate more and more.

This is why the spaceship needs to exit superluminal mode periodically.

Because when the space storm reaches the limit, it will produce the annihilation effect, which will engulf all matter.
