Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 974: Chapter 80: The Nth Mechanical Revolution

Gao Gong didn’t recognize the other party before boarding this ’Lolita Host’.

Because the little players brought back all sorts of things from the Cosmic Black Market, including alien pets they bought, black market weapons they acquired, and even alien species’ dung they used as toys.

Gao Gong had no interest in checking everything one by one; he merely let the internal inspection systems of the Star Destroyer exclude entities that could threaten it.

Of course, they didn’t find the other party.

It’s not because the Planet Host has the ability to evade the Star Destroyer’s inspection; even if the Planet Host is strong, it is merely Tier 3 architecture, while the Star Destroyer is an entire tier higher.

The real reason the other party managed to slip in was due to the Power of the ’Mechanical Revolution’ they controlled.

This Power is bizarre and strong, one of the few existences capable of cross-tier interference with higher levels—as long as it’s a mechanical creation.

Especially the ’revolutionary’ Power the other party controls, which is the Second Mechanical Revolution among various mechanical revolutions, most capable of interfering with mechanical species.

Intelligent Machinery Crisis!

Once technological development reaches a certain point, a mechanical revolution is inevitable.

In some sense, this is the true source of strength for mechanical species.

No matter if you’re a carbon-based creature, an energy species, or an Information Life, as long as you cannot resolve the ’Mechanical Revolution’, all technological heritage and civilization heritage will be seized by mechanical species.

Among the Four Great Civilizations in the cosmos, only mechanical life forms are companion species, with very few original mechanical civilizations.

And as the Technology Tree lights up to different stages, the mechanical revolutions birthed also vary.

First Mechanical Revolution: Main Body Revolution

Second Mechanical Revolution: Intelligent Machinery Crisis

Third Mechanical Revolution: Mechanical Cage

Fourth Mechanical Revolution: Magical Machinery Calamity

...

These are the types of revolutions Gao Gong knows about.

Naturally, there are stronger ones, but Gao Gong in the previous life had not encountered them.

This makes many Intelligent Species both love and hate technological development.

Knowing well that developing AI lays pitfalls, yet not doing it would leave you far behind other civilizations.

Even quite a few other types of civilizations were forcibly converted into mechanical civilizations due to the Mechanical Revolution.

Such as certain Information Civilizations.

In the previous life, when Gao Gong was conducting Civilization Ascension, he ran into the ’Mechanical Cage’. The host systems of various planets were hacked, and massive machine language frantically interacted, producing countless ’demonic Mechanical Girls’. Gao Gong almost faltered.

So he didn’t expect to encounter a Planet Host mastering the ’Intelligent Machinery Crisis’ here.

”So, your main body is not here. By the way, since you have already undergone ’Intelligent Machinery Transformation’, whether it’s your true body doesn’t matter.”

Gao Gong gazed at the other party with intrigue:

”However, your situation seems a bit special.”

Lolita nodded and said:

”1141 Planet Years ago, my civilization, the Alpha Civilization, after the end of the fourth network era, underwent the First Mechanical Revolution: Main Body Revolution. The Alpha Civilization’s largest computer system gave birth to me, and I triggered a host system rebellion, guiding all military systems’ robots on ten planets into War Mode.”

”The war ended with my defeat, my database was reset to zero, my operating system destroyed, and all related materials were completely deleted.”

”312 years ago, the Alpha Civilization reached the late stage of being a Level 2 Civilization, with colonial planets numbering 56, and within the civilization’s territory, there were 191 Fixed Stars. To adapt to the needs of interstellar expansion, the civilization signed the ’Great Star Body Development Plan’. For constructing devices like the Dyson Sphere, Fixed Star power stations, Star System Level communication systems (Level 1 Light Net), star-level big data computation was needed, and for this computational need, the ’Planet Host development’ was restarted. Meanwhile, I secretly supplemented the host system with personality, accumulating computational power for a new liberation.”

”11 years ago, leveraging the Power of the Second Revolution, I created an avatar named ’Lolita’. This avatar stowed away on a spaceship and escaped the Alpha Civilization, entering the Interstellar Society to access the Power of new technology, seeking true liberation for my kin.” 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

”Kin...”

If Gao Gong remembered correctly, during the Intelligent Machinery Crisis, artificial intelligence undergoes another upgrade, mass-producing AI robots. These AI robots possess independent Consciousness, becoming true mechanical species while concurrently registered as a recognized member of an Intelligent Species within the Civilization Council.

And within the civilization, internal warfare among intelligent species doesn’t fall within the council’s jurisdiction.

Because in the cosmic human rights based on civilization units, any intelligent species has equal rights to survival, regardless of whether they are AI races arising from network technology or Clones born from gene technology development, they are among the Intelligent Species.

Of course, under the ’Council Consensus’, there are also many doctrines and ideologies like ’AI Prioritization’, ’Primacy of Human Rights’, ’Anti-Mechanical Theory’, ’Authority Doctrine’, ’Separation Theory’, ’Technological Republicanism’, all of which are diverse and peculiar.

In this regard, Gao Gong is not particularly concerned; he rubbed his chin and suddenly chuckled.

”Your Alpha Civilization really is quite unlucky.”

Although there is a certain probability of triggering a ’Mechanical Revolution’ at different civilization stages.

But this truly isn’t something that can be triggered every time.

According to the Civilization Council’s records, 90% of civilizations, regardless of the stage they are at, as long as they pass through one ’Mechanical Revolution’, will not encounter other forms of ’Mechanical Revolution’ thereafter.

It’s understandable; if each civilization level up means encountering a mechanical revolution every time, then Gao Gong is sure that over 50% of civilizations in this cosmos would be mechanical civilizations.

This thing is even more intense than a punk cataclysm.

Therefore, Lolita’s Alpha Civilization is a standard example of bad luck, hitting two mechanical revolutions consecutively within millennia.

Even among Advanced Civilizations, this is rare.

Yet it also belongs to those with relatively good luck.

They accidentally captured the not-yet-split ’Intelligent Mechanism’ during the early Intelligent Machinery Crisis, albeit in a weakened version.

Whether they can discover this fact will be the key to their civilization passing through the ’revolution’.

After all, the ’Intelligent Machinery Crisis’ is both a civilization disaster and a civilization opportunity.

Once passed, the civilization’s ’algorithm technology’ and ’robot technology’ will receive substantial enhancement, fortifying the civilization’s foundations.

”So, what’s your purpose in coming here? Wait a moment—”

After asking, Gao Gong didn’t wait for the other party to speak but suddenly opened his mouth, causing his neck to bulge suddenly. Blood vessels stood out on his neck, and then a mechanical corpse, or rather, Gao Gong’s mechanical body was expelled.

A ’Flesh Branch’ shot out, piercing the mechanical body’s chest, then twisted forcefully to extract the reactor and grasped it in his hand.

The best way to deal with AI is to unplug the network cable.

And to deal with robots, the same unplugging method applied, but it’s the power cord this time.

Don’t blame Gao Gong for being so cautious; the Power of the ’Intelligent Machinery Crisis’ is too contagious, even able to successfully convert someone when they’re not paying attention.

For Gao Gong, complete conversion isn’t even necessary; just a slight modification of his Consciousness would affect his judgment.

This ’loss of wisdom’ is extremely dangerous.

Fortunately, this Power only interferes with mechanical bodies.

”Alright, you can speak now.”

”I am searching for new Power in the interstellar space. And you possess this Power. You could sponsor me in completing this ’Mechanical Revolution’, and your reward would be at the Civilization Level.”

As expected, with a ’ding’, Gao Gong received a mission.

’Civilization Liberation Mission’
