Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 956: Chapter 62: SS-Class Species Spores

On the interstellar battlefield, setting aside various tactics and strategies, the best way to deal with such interstellar fortresses is to let advanced carbon-based warriors physically penetrate them, directly destroying the opponent’s control systems and energy engines.

However, in response to this method of demolition, interstellar fortresses have naturally developed an ’anti-demolition system’.

Almost at the instant when Gao Gong ’spat out’ three spores, beneath his ’footroots’, thick high-alloy barriers began to close together, while on the outermost steel barrier, flames at stellar surface temperatures fiercely spewed out. For a moment, the fortress resembled a small sun, slowly ascending, with everything around melting visibly.

’This little insect is doomed!’

A mechanical female voice sounded, it was the voice of the Xie Family’s Second Elder.

”It’s not that simple,” Patriarch Xie Daowen said solemnly, ”If the opponent is truly General Cybertron, then this degree of flame won’t kill him. The energy intensity of his original spark is very dangerous!”

”Hehe, ever since this interstellar host came in, haven’t we prepared for the worst?” Suddenly, another voice emerged from Xie Daowen’s mouth.

”The worst preparation falls within the algorithm of the Ancestral Hall, while unexpected events go beyond the theoretical framework of the algorithm,” Xie Daowen frowned and said.

At least he hadn’t anticipated that the methods used by this General Cybertron were more aligned with the biological side. This seemed somewhat out of place, giving him a vague sense of unease.

The next moment, this sense of unease was instantly confirmed. The interstellar fortress, now hundreds of meters in the air, which was the Xie Family Second Elder’s physical form, suddenly halted and then fell with a crash. Blue first appeared on the surface of her ring-shaped shell, and in an instant, a blue radiance covered the entire mechanical fortress.

[Warning, warning, the energy level of this biological weapon is rising, Level I, Level II, Level III...]

On the surface of the Star Castle, advanced alloy capable of light-speed navigation began to crack. The energy light shield of the Star Castle flickered twice before completely disappearing. From the cracks, super plants resembling tree roots or vines began to extract themselves, spreading over the Star Castle both inside and out like ivy, while the surrounding dangerous energy storm became the best fuel for this terrifying and bizarre ’plant’.

By-products of SSS-level organism - Planet Tree.

SS-level spore-type parasite - ’Species Spores’

Gao Gong’s figure immediately disappeared, and when he reappeared, he was above another interstellar fortress just emerging from underground. Coughing twice again, he spat out two more ’Species Spores’.

Soon, Xie Family Fifth Elder, on another interstellar fortress, was similarly covered by a blue-green radiance.

...

In the Mechanical Ancestral Hall, two plaques quivered suddenly a few times, the code on the surface of the plaques turned into gibberish and emitted the sound of electrical sparks bursting.

Xie Daowen frowned, walked to the plaques, and chanted an incantation.

”At this moment, life and death intersect, evaluating good and evil, those who obtain the mechanical code are true.”

”Body Staff Divination, united in four seas, ancestors present, bless me with peace.”

A mechanical walking stick suddenly appeared in Xie Daowen’s hand, each section of the mechanical stick constantly spinning. With each rotation, a copper coin was ejected. The scattered copper coins conveniently fell into the mechanical grooves in the wall, and quickly, coffins began rising from the ground.

The coffins opened, and half-mechanized zombies walked out. As the zombies wobbled, the sound of their abdominal engines grew louder.

These zombies were Tier 3 soldier species, with an average level of around 75-80, elite templates, and some even had a boss template.

And these zombies had very special boss templates.

Alliance Template: Mechanical Zombie

Effect 1: Corpse Poison, spread a zombie virus capable of infecting mechanicals

Effect 2: Corpse Transformation, +30% transformation success rate to mechanical bodies

Effect 3: Corpse King, a certain probability of polluting large mechanical bodies

Generally speaking, biological viruses are the nemesis of carbon-based species, while mechanical bodies can be immune to 99% of biological viruses.

However, the boss template of the Xie Family could provide a special virus capable of polluting mechanical, and even mechanical life forms.

This was also the Xie Family’s greatest asset in establishing themselves on this Black Market Planet.

Except for pure energy life and information life, anyone against the Xie Family needs to be cautious of this ’corpse tide’.

A lifeform as sensitive as Gao Gong could naturally feel the virus gas permeating the air. This virus gas secreted from steel and metal naturally invaded the human body, infecting its metal elements, damaging the mechanical body. Even the construct within Gao Gong, known for its sharpness, felt ’rusty’.

”Didn’t expect a pleasant surprise!”

If this Xie Family Ancestral Hall could cultivate ’boss templates’, its value would be even higher!

Gao Gong’s gaze was fervent, but his expression remained calm. He coughed a few more times, and spat out a green spore.

Then, an endless green light shone again, illuminating all the mechanical zombies. The zombies’ speed began to slow significantly, and even the sound of their internal engines gradually dulled.

”Finally, I can enjoy the faction’s blessing,” Gao Gong mumbled to himself, stepping into the interior of the Ancestral Hall.

As a final boss of a faction, with the perspective and insight of a transmigrator, Gao Gong always took the lead. The technologies and blueprints deduced within the faction were often a version or even several versions behind.

However, the reason the faction gameplay is the king’s way is that as long as you persist in its development, it will eventually evolve into the form you desire. The evolution of the technology tree is not a linear progression, but an explosive development at every stage.

For example, the current ’SS+Species Spore’, with countless resources poured into it, has been successfully cultivated into a faction’s soldier species.

Before arriving, Gao Gong used all six seeds, which was remarkably effective in dealing with Xie Family.

The two interstellar fortresses were parasitized to death by the species spores before displaying their firepower and intimidation.

Even if it were Gao Gong himself, entering fusion mode might not have been as effortless.

After all, the SS-level radiation species, on a scale equivalent to what can evolve from a whole planet’s ecosystem, the Beast King among Beast Kings, even when evolved into the complete form of a Brain-in-a-Vat, was no different from this tier.

And for Gao Gong, such an existence is swallowed in one seed.
