Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 952: Chapter 58: Xiejia Clan

”Director Du went to the Eternal Financial Group?”

Upon learning the news, Gao Gong expressed considerable surprise.

It’s worth noting that the Eternal Financial Group was a leftover storyline from the Mechanical Split Star.

Back then, the Eternal Financial Group had its eyes on Du Gao Technology’s mecha technology, leveraging its position as the ’Cyber Test Field channel dealer’ to attempt a forced buyout.

However, they were outmaneuvered by Gao Gong and Director Du in a strategic play, using the ’Memory Loss Tide’ in Cyber Tide to sign a lucrative deal at no cost.

They not only acquired all of the opponent’s tech centers and test bases on the Mechanical Split Star, but the cost was merely the control of a ’shell company,’ virtually without any expense.

Yet it’s worth mentioning that Gao Gong didn’t gain much either.

The Cyber Tide super plot was far fiercer than he anticipated, and before he could capitalize on these ’corporate fixed assets,’ the Cyber Tide spread globally.

Under the corrosion of informational worms, those core assets became entirely unusable.

The only benefit was probably that Director Du became the third Immortal.

This position is equivalent to the third president-in-waiting of the Eternal Financial Group—though, of course, only in theory.

”Why did Director Du go to the Eternal Financial Group? Is he planning something?”

With no fixed production base, Director Du’s three auxiliary templates and the precious blueprint for the Mother City in his hands couldn’t be utilized effectively. The prestige of the rich lady slightly diminished, coupled with the impact of various alien technologies, making Director Du quite silent during this time.

”So, after being still for so long, is Director Du planning to use the Mother City blueprint to cooperate with the Eternal Financial Group?”

This was Gao Gong’s first thought.

”However, the two parties’ technology trees seem a bit mismatched.”

The name Eternal Financial Group alone suggests a focus on medical, genetic, and longevity technologies.

As for Director Du, it goes without saying, mechanical woman, mechanical powerhouse, bigger, stronger, sturdier.

Can the two really cooperate?

Could it be they’re planning a consciousness upload and mechanical immortality project?

Gao Gong’s mind wandered aimlessly.

However, Gao Gong still had considerable confidence in Director Du. As the principal figure of Du Gao Technology, his vision, mind, and leadership all surpassed his own, and even the weakest strength was not inferior to the Spark Life under Gao Gong.

The power of the Industrial Shipgirl was something many people hadn’t recognized, especially the two shipgirl domains mastered by the other party, aside from ’double-speed production,’ there was also the ’super body seal.’

The latter was a major killing weapon against large mechanical devices, including all company defensive equipment within the ’sealing range.’

Even if the negotiations went awry, Gao Gong believed Director Du could break out safely.

Yet Director Du’s maneuverings gave Gao Gong an idea for making money.

He was desperate for money.

Weapons, equipment, spaceship configurations all needed credit points.

Personal mechanical transformation also required credit points.

The production of an SS-level Radiation Paradise needed a large amount of civilization credit points.

And now, Gao Gong was so broke he was almost ready to sell his underwear.

”With Pai Daxing’s care for me, borrowing a large sum from him shouldn’t be an issue. However, this guy gave me an inexplicable sense of peculiarity. Spatial dimension transformation is a technology only mastered by advanced spatial civilizations. There’s something deep behind this guy, so let’s keep him as an alternative for now.”

Originally, Gao Gong planned to leverage the authority of the ’Special-Level Mercenary Corps’ for labor dispatch, assigning a few lucrative mercenary missions to players. Players would earn experience and specialization, while he earned civilization credit points—a win-win.

But now, it seems that some leftover plotlines from the Mechanical Split Star might also be a path to earning credit points.

Director Du had undertaken the plot involving the Eternal Financial Group, so Gao Gong decided not to get involved.

Still, there was one plot, or should I say, vendetta, that Gao Gong intended to resolve himself.

The High-Orbit Industrial Xie Family, the Xie Clan!

The Great Elder of the Xie Family almost caused a ’wife-stealing hatred’ with him, and later, they sent two industrial old zombies to deal with him—a truly adversarial faction.

And now, the Xie Family, one of the twelve Cloud Nobility, was located on the ’Ophiuchus Satellite’ of the Mechanical Serpent Constellation, known as a somewhat famous satellite family in the surrounding star domain.

”Let’s practice on them first,” Gao Gong mumbled to himself, ”but without considering ordinary matters, we must first probe into ’Pai Daxing’s’ stance.”

If the other side agreed to his revenge, then on with the overt kill!

If not, then the covert kill!

Anyway, it all boils down to killing!

Defeat those who block me, slaughter those who obstruct me!

...

Unexpectedly smooth.

When Gao Gong sent his negotiating representative, Qin Zhenzi, to probe Pai Daxing’s thoughts, the other party’s response almost made Gao Gong feel as if the ’wife-stealing hatred’ had been aimed at Pai Daxing instead of himself.

’Pai Daxing’ not only stated on the spot, kill if you want, kill as you please! He even dispatched his minion to provide detailed information on the opponent’s background.

”The High-Orbit Xie Family signed a century contract with the Mechanical Serpent Constellation. Within this planet’s centennial rotation, they are in charge of the black market’s defensive mechanical manufacturing. Naturally, that’s only on the surface. In fact, the Xie Family is not only one of the shareholders of the Eternal Financial Group but also one of the major weapons channel sources in the black market. Their developed high-firepower weapons and human modification implant weapons have significant markets in several Level 2 civilizations.”

Looking at it this way, the Xie Family is much stronger than those wasteful Cloud Nobility, having upgraded from middlemen to manufacturers. Gao Gong glanced at their weapons list, looking familiar. Many were the flagship products of the Mechanical Split Star’s weapon developers, even a few regular models of mecha were listed.

Damn it, even my household’s flagship products were copied!

”However, this is just their secondary identity,” the visitor paused and said, ”Indeed, the Xie Family has a tertiary identity.”

”A tertiary identity?”

Is this some kind of Russian doll mystery?

”The Xie Family is a branch family of the Xiejia Clan, one of the top ten financial groups within the Mirta Federation, and their main task is monitoring the direction of the Cyber Test Field.”

Xiejia Clan?

Gao Gong’s expression became heavy as he began examining the materials provided.

The Mirta Federation is a federal nation, its civilization type is Star Armor Civilization, pursuing a technological direction of mechanical intelligence and mecha specialization, containing numerous technological financial groups within.

The Xiejia Clan is one of the frontrunners, having not only supported many legislators into centers of power, but their developed ’wearable mecha’ is also their flagship product.

This mecha can be worn on humans, as well as be applied to weapons, spaceships, and large equipment.

According to a piece of video footage in the materials, their most powerful Tier 3 Star Armor can even envelop an entire ’planet fortress.’

In the footage, a massive mechanical fortress is hit and covered by liquid metal that flows like seawater, enveloping large cannons to thicken and enlarge their barrels, covering various flying vehicles to greatly enhance their performance, enhancing them to a higher level, turning two-barrel cannons into four-barrel ones, upgrading energy engines to energy reactors, and doubling the range of the magnetic force field stabilizer...

This had surpassed the scope of both mecha and Star Armor, reaching the level of ’everything can be armored.’

Previously, Gao Gong was somewhat puzzled. The Galen Republic and the Mirta Federation are enemies, and the Galen Republic is a typical Level 3 Spaceship Civilization. Its civilization specialty is ’ship development.’ In theory, early on, a civilization focusing on large ship development should have an advantage over ’Star Armor Civilization’ civilization focusing on individual weapon development.

But according to the rumors Gao Gong gathered these days, in their skirmishes, the Galen Republic was at a disadvantage.

Now Gao Gong understood. Mirta Federation’s mecha technology had reached a level of ’everything can be armored.’ This breakthrough in technological development’s monotony extended to a range far beyond spaceship technology.

This also exemplifies that civilization type is one thing, while the development of civilization technology is quite another.

Stereotypes must be avoided!

Even within the Mirta Federation, the Xiejia Clan’s star armor coverage technology is unique, reportedly achieving nanometer-level armament.

’Mecha technology, nanotechnology.’

Gao Gong exhaled. In terms of the entertainment industry, this is an overlap of ecological niches.
