Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 978: Chapter 84: 7.0

Although Alphamen are humanoid creatures, they are still fundamentally different from humans.

First of all, they don’t have little weewees. As a viviparous species, their mating method is to secrete male hormones from their fingertips, implant them into the female’s body, and then gestate eggs.

However, ever since ”artificial embryo technology” developed, many Alphamen no longer hatch eggs themselves and instead focus more on enjoying the pleasure of spiritual intercourse.

Second, the visual organs of Alphamen are integrated with the Neural System.

In plain terms, the eyes and the brain are one single organ.

In other words, eyesight no longer belongs to the sensory system, but has become a member of the Neural System.

From Gao Gong’s point of view, this is a very novel experience.

What you see is what you think; whatever you see instantly stimulates the neural circuit, automatically generating massive amounts of thought. Over time, no wonder Alphamen have such powerful and developed minds.

It was in this special state that Gao Gong ”saw” the Alpha Wisdom Circle, or rather, the ”Red Pillar.”

...

Unlike most dimensions that are hard to perceive and hard to describe.

The Alpha Wisdom Circle is like using a space telescope to gaze into the Cosmos and seeing the ”Pillar of Creation.”

Among the glittering starlight, a red gaseous pillar, like smoke and cloud, like liquid, soars upward, spreading infinite, boundless clouds of hot dust over dozens of light-years.

And this giant pillar is inlaid with a massive halo.

Gao Gong’s logic, thoughts, and ideas all turned into his line of sight, crossing light-year distances, drilling into the ”Red Pillar,” and becoming one of the halos.

The halo seems endless, inlaid upon the Red Pillar.

And every halo seems to be an adult Alphaman.

Vision, Cosmic Anomaly, and the Sea of Thought—these three completely different existences fuse just right into one.

”Is this actually the Alpha Wisdom Circle that Alphamen see when they observe the heavens at night, or is it just some kind of Illusion that happens to closely resemble certain cosmic phenomena?”

This single thought flashed through Gao Gong’s mind, and in the next moment, a flood of knowledge poured down over him. In an instant, Gao Gong ”saw” loads of information about the Alpha Wisdom Circle, along with all kinds of scientific and humanistic reflections—from religious worship in the age of ignorance, to astronomical research in the new era, and even brain-development projects from certain encrypted labs—all rammed into his mind.

Just like that, Gao Gong became an Expert in the Alpha Wisdom Circle.

[Your Interstellar Knowledge +10]

”Well damn, this is a human-brain search engine!”

”And it’s Interstellar Knowledge—this has potential!”

Unlike ”Reputation,” which has a regional cap, Interstellar Knowledge has no range limit; it’s essentially universally applicable across the Cosmos.

Moreover, once your Interstellar Knowledge reaches a certain value, you can join some cosmic academic organizations, such as the ”Itha Research Association,” the ”Interstellar Knowledge Library,” the ”Humanoid Gene Research Association,” and so on.

Joining these neutral organizations can net you lots of goodies, including an entire chunk of Civilization Knowledge—if that cosmic academic organization happens to need to cultivate a certain civilization as a research subject.

In his past life, Gao Gong remembered that the Interstellar Knowledge Library had once released a super quest chain, and the reward for that chain was the full Technology Tree of an Ascension Civilization.

Unfortunately, the quest was absurdly difficult; no Player managed to complete it.

But in this life, he can give it a shot!

...

After learning the function of the Alpha Wisdom Circle, countless thoughts flashed through Gao Gong’s mind in an instant, countless things he wanted to know.

The Ecosystem of the Alpha Civilization

The weapons cache and reserves of the Alpha Civilization

The structural weak points of Alphaman bodies

The War history of Alphamen

...

But right after, a sharp pain hit the back of Gao Gong’s head, and half of his ”field of vision” vanished on the spot.

”Entering this Sea of Thought has some sort of restriction. The limit is that each person can only ask the Wisdom Circle one question and get one answer. Because I have a (fake) Royal Family bloodline, my cap becomes two.”

”Feels a bit of a rip-off, but not too bad either.”

Still, Gao Gong knew that for the next question, he had to think very carefully. After all, this ”Tianwen” opportunity is rare—an entire civilization’s Sages are answering for you.

”Most of the Alpha Civilization’s data, Lolita already has, and it’s not like I absolutely have to go head-to-head with this Level 2 Civilization. Got it...”

Gao Gong’s eyes lit up as he thought of a brilliant idea!

The G System Biological Computer version 7.0 update!

Soon, Gao Gong’s Consciousness seemed to be wrapped by countless Sages, and all kinds of cutting-edge Biotechnology concepts coiled around him like streams.

On Gao Gong’s flesh body, specks of Radiance began to light up.

At the same time, on the System Panel, a message popped up—

[Biological Computer version 7.0 update initiated. This update will consume a large amount of Biological Electricity. Please remain in charging state during the update.]

Then a progress bar appeared.

1%, 1.01%, 1.02%

Gao Gong’s face quickly went pale.

This consumption really is a bit much.

Gao Gong raised his arm, which instantly turned into a giant Tree Root that stabbed down into the ground. The ground split open as the root kept drilling deeper and deeper, all the way down to the deepest part of the Star Destroyer, into the Black Hole-Class Shipboard Reactor.

At the very center of the reactor was a massive chunk of Energy Ore, glittering like diamond.

A Tier 4 Primitive Ore!

The Tree Root rapidly coiled around the ore, and then the ”diamond” turned into liquid form, flowing into the root.

With this huge influx of energy, the system update speed surged dramatically.

Meanwhile, Gao Gong was pondering what fresh new functions the new version of the Biological Computer would offer.

You have to know, starting from version 1.0, each update adds new functions to the Biological Computer—for example, 2.0’s biological local area Network, 3.0’s Cell Memory Chip, 4.0’s Artificial Virtual Space, 5.0’s Network Cloud, and 6.0’s World Grand Model.

You could say every version is insanely useful, and each one more powerful than the last.

And by that logic, the new version has to be stronger than the old ones.

Based on Gao Gong’s understanding, once it reaches version 9.0, the Biological Computer’s Computational Power can rival a Planet Computer. Even pure computation would be enough to cover an entire planet’s Ecosystem and even its Evolutionary System.

Take the 6.0 ”World Grand Model,” for example—it’s actually the prerequisite for ”Evolutionary System Simulation.”

This is basically the mainstream model in Interstellar Society where human brains rival machine brains.

With the body as the carrier of the Biological Computer, a Carbon-Based Powerhouse’s computational capacity reaches supercomputer level; and the computation isn’t just for combat, but mainly for biological Evolution.

Once you reach that level, a single person creating an entire species system is no longer a myth.

But the Cosmos is fair. If you want a human body to rival a Planet Computer, then obviously the difficulty of version updates will skyrocket the further you go.

After all, Planet Computers are Tier 3 Technology products; in terms of manufacturing difficulty, they even surpass some Civilization Architecture.

In fact, before reaching Tier 3, Gao Gong had already given up on further Evolution of his Biological Computer.

But sometimes timing beats planning. With the ”Wisdom” of an entire Level 2 Civilization assisting him, Gao Gong’s body was undergoing continuous Evolution.

90%, 91%, 92%, 93%...

Gradually, Gao Gong’s flesh body was being dissolved bit by bit.

And dissolving along with him were the other Players who had gone down the biological route.
