Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 241: Chapter 220: The Professionals Are All Astonished

In the multifunctional media room.

Everyone cast puzzled glances at Lu Li and Shen Xia.

Each person was eager to know what it was that could make Shen Xia, who was supposed to give a confidential academic report, describe it as ”very important.”

From the wording alone, Shen Xia seemed to imply that what Lu Li was about to show Wu Er Mountain might be more important than Shen Xia’s original academic report.

What could be more important than aspects like neutrino detecting proton structures, antigravity exploration, or the twin-slit demonstration of time?

Cheng Yan was full of curiosity.

Gu Yilong also appeared intrigued.

Chai Hen, Qian Jin, and the remaining dozen or so physics experts were the same.

Wu Er Mountain slowly asked, ”Xiaolu, what is it?”

Lu Li looked at those physicists, frowned, and said, ”What I have is confidential. Can I discuss it with you alone?”

Wu Er Mountain was very attentive to Lu Li.

Upon hearing this, he struggled to stand up, ”Okay, I’ll go out with you...”

”Hey!”

”Teacher Wu, please stay seated.”

”We’ll wait outside.”

Gu Yilong, Cheng Yan, Qian Jin, and others, dared not let the elderly and physically challenged Wu Er Mountain stand, and voluntarily stood up, heading out the door.

As they walked, the group wondered what important secret this could be that even they, who had devoted their lives to national risk, couldn’t watch together?

This made Gu Yilong, Cheng Yan, and Qian Jin even more curious.

But since Lu Li didn’t allow outsiders to see, their curiosity was of no use.

The group could only leave the room with curiosity brewing inside.

When only three people were left in the room, Wu Er Mountain asked curiously, ”Xiaolu, Xiaoxia, what on earth is so mysterious?”

Lu Li calmly said, ”I’ll let Shen Xia show you.”

Shen Xia hurriedly stepped forward, respectfully placing the notebook with the ”Volcanic Ash Rock” subatomic particle structure diagram in front of Wu Er Mountain.

She said, ”Teacher Wu, this is a new type of subatomic particle structure diagram that Lu Li recently developed. Earlier, he asked me to take a look and see if it could be synthetically created. My knowledge is somewhat shallow, unable to provide accurate answers, so I came to you to see the specifics.”

”Your knowledge in physics is first-rate and you cannot confirm?”

Wu Er Mountain seemed a bit surprised, lowered his head to look at the notebook, ”Alright, let me take a look first.”

Lu Li and Shen Xia stood there, neither speaking, afraid of interrupting.

Wu Er Mountain just glanced at it, quickly raised his head, and asked with astonishment, ”This is a structure of a superheavy subatomic particle, right?”

Lu Li nodded and said, ”Yes.”

Wu Er Mountain showed a serious expression, ”From my knowledge, this superheavy subatomic particle has great instability, and it is extremely prone to decomposition or annihilation, thereby releasing enormous energy. Unexpectedly, the energy generated during its decomposition or annihilation may be several times that of nuclear fusion!”

Indeed, as a giant in the field of physics, his insight was far keener than Shen Xia’s.

With just one look, he could see how much energy this subatomic particle could release upon annihilation.

Lu Li felt that he had found the right person today and admitted, ”Yes, to my understanding, this subatomic particle, upon annihilation, releases about five times the energy of nuclear fusion.”

Wu Er Mountain sighed, ”If such a subatomic particle really exists in this world and can be discovered and used, it would certainly have a tremendous impact on the advancement of human civilization. Unfortunately... by analyzing its structure, it may not exist in nature, meaning it simply cannot exist, only as a theoretical proposition.”

Hearing this, Lu Li could finally confirm that the ”Volcanic Ash Rock” subatomic particle indeed shouldn’t exist.

It was only due to my extraordinary projection capabilities and simulating according to Jin Zhouzhou’s ”fantasy” description.

Shen Xia asked in surprise, ”Teacher, are you sure you’re not mistaken, this subatomic particle can’t exist?”

Wu Er Mountain chuckled wryly, ”Other things I’m not sure about, but this subatomic particle is extremely prone to decomposition or annihilation; forming it in the first place is incredibly difficult. I can say it only exists theoretically. Fine, let’s say by some hundred billion chance this subatomic particle is formed, but with the slightest disruption, it will disintegrate or annihilate instantly. Humanity’s current technology cannot observe it... hey, how did you think of drawing this subatomic particle structure?”

He was initially explaining why it couldn’t exist and even if it did, it couldn’t be observed, then suddenly thought of an important question and asked hurriedly.

Shen Xia glanced at Lu Li, seeing him nod, she softly said, ”But what if this subatomic particle has already been synthetically created?”

”If this subatomic particle has already...” Wu Er Mountain’s words were cut off as he looked up, utterly astonished, ”You... you say it’s already been synthetically created?”

”Yes.” Lu Li took over the conversation, explained, ”I have already successfully synthesized this subatomic particle, but not through technological means, and as for the specific method, it is currently undisclosable.”

Wu Er Mountain took a deep breath, ”If it truly isn’t just theoretical, then this subatomic particle could indeed completely change human civilization!”

He appeared deeply shocked, unable to believe that such a subatomic particle could truly be synthesized!

Perhaps due to the overwhelming shock, Wu Er Mountain was so absorbed that he forgot to ask Lu Li, since it had already been synthesized, why inquire further.

Fortunately, Lu Li didn’t forget. He softly asked, ”Teacher Wu, my synthetic method is not applicable for conventional use, so I’d like to consult with you if, at the current technological level, this subatomic particle could possibly be synthetically created?”

Wu Er Mountain finally came to his senses from the shock. He looked at Lu Li with a peculiar gaze, shook his head, and replied, ”I specialize in theoretical physics, so I can’t answer you on this. However, outside, there are academicians who specialize in high-energy particle knowledge... Hmm, this matter is too significant. Even if we let them view the structure diagram, they must sign a confidentiality agreement, provided you are willing to let them see it.”

Shen Xia glanced at Lu Li’s face.

Lu Li pondered for a moment and decisively said, ”If they are willing to sign a confidentiality agreement, we can let them see it.”

Wu Er Mountain immediately closed the notebook and instructed, ”Xiaoshen, call the people outside to come in.”

Shen Xia promptly replied, ”Okay.”

She turned around and opened the door, calling in the waiting physicists Gu Yilong, Qian Jin, and Cheng Yan among others.

Outside, Gu Yilong, Qian Jin, and Cheng Yan had been curious for a long time. Now, hearing that they were called in, they thought Lu Li and Wu Er Mountain had finished their discussion and were about to leave. There was some regret, thinking they wouldn’t find out what was going on after all.

Unexpectedly, Wu Er Mountain looked at the crowd and directly asked, ”I have a very confidential research here for everyone to look at, but you need to sign a confidentiality agreement first. If you are willing to sign, I will have someone draft the agreement right away. If not, I won’t force it.”

Do we need to sign a confidentiality agreement to see it?

Gu Yilong, Qian Jin, and Cheng Yan exchanged glances, faintly sensing that something major was about to happen.

So significant that even this group of ”national treasure-level” figures might suddenly gain fame because of it.

And in the field of physics, there is essentially only one possibility for such an event.

That is a revolutionary breakthrough.

It might even change the course of human civilization!

Gu Yilong decisively said, ”I am willing to sign the confidentiality agreement.”

Qian Jin quickly followed, ”Me too.”

”Teacher Wu, please have the agreement drafted.”

”I will definitely keep my mouth shut.”

A dozen top physicists all immediately expressed their stance.

Wu Er Mountain promptly had a confidentiality agreement drafted.

Subsequently, these physicists all signed it.

By the time they were finished, it was around three in the afternoon.

Lu Li and Shen Xia were sitting to the side, chatting.

Wu Er Mountain gestured to the crowd, ”All of you, come a little closer and take a look at this subatomic particle structure diagram.”

Subatomic particle structure diagram?

Was it really necessary to sign a confidentiality agreement for this?

The crowd felt puzzled but still gathered around to look.

This was a shock like no other.

At a glance, Qian Jin, who specialized in high-energy particles, immediately widened his eyes and exclaimed, ”This subatomic particle... How is this possible!”

Although the others also had a certain understanding of particles, they were not as knowledgeable as Qian Jin.

The crowd hadn’t yet noticed anything very subtle.

Now hearing Qian Jin’s exclamation, many were filled with curiosity and turned to look at him.

Gu Yilong asked, ”Old Qian, what’s up with this subatomic particle?”

Cheng Yan and Chai Hen also perked up their ears, wanting to know what was so mysterious about it.

Qian Jin looked serious and said, ”If I’m not mistaken, this kind of subatomic particle easily decomposes or annihilates and can, in the process, release tremendous energy, situated between nuclear fusion and antimatter annihilation. Such vast energy!”

Upon hearing this, everyone was astonished.

Cheng Yan asked, somewhat incredulously, ”Releasing energy situated between nuclear fusion and antimatter annihilation, such immense energy?”

Qian Jin nodded slightly, ”Yes.”

Chai Hen took a light breath and said, ”Nuclear fusion produces energy four times that of nuclear fission, and the energy produced during antimatter annihilation is between fifty and thirty thousand times that of nuclear fusion. Let’s take the smallest value. Does that mean this subatomic particle, when decomposed or annihilated, can release energy several or even dozens of times that of nuclear fusion? This...how is this possible!”

Other physicists also felt extremely shocked.

Qian Jin couldn’t help but laugh bitterly and said, ”That’s indeed the case. From this subatomic particle structure diagram, I see a structure similar to some high-energy subatomic particles in cosmic rays. Let me put it this way, in cosmic rays, there often exist fast neutron particles reaching five percent of the speed of light. This kind of subatomic particle, when decomposing or annihilating, may produce ultra-fast neutron pulses, thereby generating huge energy.”

At this point, Qian Jin looked around with amazement, and his tone became much more respectful, ”I want to know, who exactly discovered this high-energy subatomic particle structure?”

Shen Xia looked towards Lu Li.

Wu Er Mountain couldn’t help but turn his gaze to Lu Li.

Noticing the situation with the two, everyone followed Shen Xia and Wu Er Mountain’s gaze and looked at Lu Li.

Faced with the crowd’s incredulous gazes, Lu Li naturally admitted, ”I accidentally discovered this subatomic particle.”
