Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 227: Chapter 208: Tang Monk Meat

In the early morning, the first ray of dawn spread into the seaside mansion.

The slightly exhausted Lu Li was awakened slowly by the sunlight slipping through the gaps in the curtains, piercing his eyes.

The fluffy and soft bed made him reluctant to get up.

A mix of fragrance and a touch of fishiness seeped into his nostrils.

Lu Li turned his head to look at Julia Giannini, whose shoulder was exposed outside the covers, sleeping soundly. His mind involuntarily recalled what happened last night.

This woman is truly an enchanting temptress.

Just in the first half of the night, Lu Li danced with her twice.

Especially shortly after their first dance began, Cameron called at that moment.

Julia Giannini initially didn’t want to answer the phone.

Lu Li thought it seemed more thrilling to do so, so he let her take the call.

To his surprise, he vaguely gleaned some information from it.

This information was learned during a casual chat after Lu Li and Julia Giannini’s first dance.

It is said that Jin Zhouzhou, under the sponsorship of California Eighteenth Street, is conducting a secret human experiment.

If the experiment truly succeeds, it might unlock the mysteries of the human body and create super soldiers.

The experiment is divided into several projects.

For example, why does the human body spontaneously combust?

If this secret can be unlocked, allowing humans to control the ability to burn, could ”fire magic” be wielded?

Another example is the mystery of the human body rusting.

According to Julia Giannini, there was a young worker in the Former Soviet Union who found a layer of red powdery substance on his skin after work. The hospital examination revealed it to be rust, and not just the skin but even his internal organs showed rusting, though doctors were helpless, and this phenomenon remains a mystery.

If Jin Zhouzhou can solve this puzzle, perhaps humans can partially control their own metallization to gain stronger offensive and defensive capabilities.

Lu Li found the information amusing at first.

He could already look inside his body but had not discovered such mysteries.

But then he reconsidered that since he could unlock the genetic lock and evolve superpowers, almost anything might be possible.

Lu Li pondered whether he should collect experiment data or information when catching Jin Zhouzhou’s people.

As he was thinking, a soft moan came from beside him.

Lu Li turned his head to see Julia Giannini slowly waking up.

Julia Giannini rubbed her eyes, speaking in a flirty tone: ”Darling, why are you up so early? Aren’t you tired?”

Lu Li reached out to stroke her hair, ”A little bit.”

Strangely enough.

His physical strength was immensely powerful.

His stamina undeniable.

Yet after dancing, he felt a sense of exhaustion.

Lu Li originally wanted to say more.

Suddenly, he noticed Julia Giannini looked exceptionally well today.

Lu Li had a vague premonition and blinked his eyes, asking, ”How do you feel physically?”

Julia Giannini stretched lazily, then hugged Lu Li, saying: ”Great, I was a bit tired last night, but after a good night’s sleep, I feel unprecedented comfort.”

Lu Li didn’t speak, activating his micro-view to check her physical condition.

What he found was surprising.

Whether it was her good usual maintenance or something else.

Lu Li discovered during his check that her cells seemed ”younger” than that of a normal twenty-seven or twenty-eight-year-old.

About four or five years younger.

At first, he thought it was an illusion.

He later noticed Julia Giannini’s stomach seemed to be releasing some special substance.

And this special substance was slowly reversing her cells.

Lu Li was astonished upon recognizing this.

Because he knew what was in Julia Giannini’s stomach.

”Could it be... I’ve become the Tang Monk?”

Lu Li found this notion both laughable and worrisome.

Although he was now powerful enough to virtually disregard many thermal weapons, if people truly discovered that consuming certain special substances from his body could restore youthfulness to some extent, the entire world might go mad for it.

Is it merely a single special substance, or is my entire flesh and blood able to restore youth?

Lu Li couldn’t figure it out for the time being and decided to find an opportunity to experiment.

Thinking about it, he patted Julia Giannini on the back, ”I have to get up and go back now, you can stay in bed a little longer.”

”Huh?” Julia Giannini said somewhat disappointedly, ”Do you have to leave so soon?”

Lu Li responded with a ”hmm”: ”Got some business.”

Julia Giannini bit her lip, ”But I don’t want you to go, what should I do?”

Lu Li acted like a scoundrel, ”Even if you’re reluctant, there’s no choice. I must leave today. Hmm, I need to go back to Huaxia these two days.”

Julia Giannini tilted her head, her eyes wide open, ”Can I go back to Huaxia with you?”

Lu Li straightforwardly refused, ”No, I don’t like to be tied down.”

Julia Giannini resignedly said, ”Then can I find a chance to visit you in Huaxia?”

Mentioning this, Lu Li thought for a moment and said, ”Sure, but before you come, you must tell me in advance.”

He had some ambiguous relationships with Blaze Babe and Liu Kexin in his home country.

He didn’t want to be caught by Julia Giannini and cause jealousy.

...

A little past nine in the morning.

Lu Li was driven back to the hotel by Julia Giannini’s driver in a Bentley.

He immediately gathered Zhang Guocheng, Xiaolin, Wang Yu, Old Wu, and others to discuss how to proceed with the next task.

In the hotel room.

Zhang Guocheng looked at Lu Li with a teasing face, smiling slyly, ”Hehe, Mr. Lu, seeing your smiling face, did you have a good time last night?”

Xiaolin, Wang Yu, Old Wu, and the others all had similar smiles.

To be honest, ever since graduating from university, Lu Li had never felt as satisfied as he did today.

He was in a pretty good mood and said, ”Hey, stop being inappropriate, let’s talk business first.”

Zhang Guocheng put away his teasing expression and said seriously, ”Hmm, let me talk about today’s plan.”

Everyone sat up straight.

Although Lu Li was still lounging on the sofa, his ears perked up.

Zhang Guocheng pointed outside, ”Right now, the people of California Eighteenth Street are constantly watching. If we act suspiciously, they will definitely inform the Jalisco Group to move Jin Zhouzhou somewhere else. So, I thought it over carefully last night and decided we can’t make any unusual moves for now. This morning let’s pretend to roam around Los Angeles a bit, come back in the afternoon to rest, and when night falls, we disguise ourselves and leave, heading straight for Tijuana, where someone will meet us.”

Lu Li agreed with Zhang Guocheng’s plan.

No matter how swiftly they acted, it couldn’t beat a phone call.

So, they couldn’t let California Eighteenth Street notice anything unusual.

Otherwise, Jin Zhouzhou could be moved again, and they might not find him in a short time.

Zhang Guocheng continued, ”Once we reach Tijuana, we must quickly find a way to get into the Jalisco Group’s branch and capture Jin Zhouzhou. Otherwise, by tomorrow morning, California Eighteenth Street will definitely notice we’ve left Los Angeles quietly, and they’ll move Jin Zhouzhou. So, whether we can catch Jin Zhouzhou today is crucial. Let me talk about the combat plan.”

Lu Li interrupted, ”No need for a combat plan. Just tell me where the Jalisco Group’s branch in Tijuana is, and I’ll bring the person back to you.”

Zhang Guocheng said with concern, ”Hey, Mr. Lu, we all know you’re strong, but the Jalisco Group is different. Their firepower is really fierce. I’m worried you might slip up. It’s better to stick to the plan.”

”Yeah, they have heavy weaponry.”

”Armored vehicles, tanks, combat helicopters, they have it all.”

”Mr. Lu, to be safe, we should stick to the plan.”

Xiaolin, Old Wu, and others began to persuade him.

Yes, they knew Lu Li had incredible speed and terrifying strength, comparable to a nuclear explosion, but they really didn’t know how strong Lu Li’s body was and whether it could withstand heavy weaponry.

Simply put, now Lu Li was considered a national treasure within the 749 unit.

Zhang Guocheng, Xiaolin, and Old Wu didn’t want anything to happen to Lu Li.

Seeing everyone was concerned about his safety, Lu Li couldn’t dismiss their good intentions.

To be frank, he really didn’t take the Jalisco Group seriously.

Though theoretically, some heavy weapons could breach his defense, Lu Li wasn’t some fool who only relied on physical combat and never planned to face the enemy head-on.

As long as he knew where the Jalisco Group’s branch in Tijuana was,

he could infiltrate it without a sound, as easily as eating or drinking water.

Then he could bring Jin Zhouzhou back, right?

That’s still a rather foolish approach.

The smarter move would be, as long as he could locate Jin Zhouzhou, he could directly use mind control to make him ”willingly” come back, all effortlessly.

So, how could there be danger?

To say something unpleasant, even if he did clash with the Jalisco Group, and they sent armored vehicles, tanks, or attack helicopters, he wasn’t afraid at all with the Biological Force Field.

Lu Li pondered, ”If it weren’t for Zhang Guocheng, Xiaolin, and Wang Yu being by my side and needing to ensure their safety, I would really like to test my hand against the Jalisco Group, to see just how strong my combat abilities have become.”

Yes, ever since the third deep evolution, he’s been desperately wanting an intense battle to examine his combat strength.

Preferably without relying on mind control or other special superhuman abilities, just to test how powerful his physical form and Biological Force Field are.

Unfortunately, to ensure everyone’s safety, there’s no chance to test it out.
