Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 239: Chapter 218: Five Times the Energy of Nuclear Fusion

At noon, Lu Li slowly opened his eyes and woke up.

Not far away, Liu Kexin, already dressed in a short-sleeved white shirt and suit pants, was adjusting herself in front of the mirror.

If it were a normal day, Lu Li, having just confirmed his boyfriend-girlfriend relationship with Liu Kexin, would definitely seize the chance to tease her a bit.

However, now he felt that after falling asleep and waking up, his physical condition had reached an unprecedented ”completeness,” and he couldn’t help but fall into deep thought.

That feeling, how to put it?

It’s like something made his endocrine system, blood circulation, and other conditions reach their optimal state.

This made Lu Li feel very surprised.

Apart from hugging Liu Kexin and sleeping for the whole morning, he seemed to have no other ”peculiar encounters.”

How did his physical condition suddenly improve?

The most important thing is, he seems to have sensed that the speed of his physical evolution seems to be faster than before.

Liu Kexin spotted Lu Li waking up through the reflection in the mirror.

She turned around and revealed a sweet smile he had never seen before and said, ”You’re awake?”

Lu Li snapped out of his deep thoughts, looked at her radiant face, and asked a bit surprised, ”You didn’t sleep all night, and only caught up on sleep for a morning, how come your energy...”

Mid-sentence, he suddenly remembered an article he read before.

An article about twelve peculiar effects of love.

A study published in the ”British Medical Journal” found that happy love can make men’s bodies healthier and women’s minds healthier.

It can also reduce stress hormones, lessen pain, lower blood pressure, and trigger the body’s happy hormones, and so on.

Lu Li pondered, could it be that receiving love and the pheromones released by Liu Kexin’s ”sincerity” triggered more beneficial hormones, bringing his physical condition to an unprecedented best state after waking up, and thus promoting his own evolution to some extent?

If his guesses were correct, this discovery was not only interesting but might also help him unlock some evolutionary mysteries.

Lu Li was very keen on this and decided to find some time to ask Ni Qingwen for relevant information.

Liu Kexin seemed to have not noticed Lu Li had once again fallen into deep thought.

She reached for the handbag hanging on the rack and said, ”Hmm, I don’t know, anyway getting some rest makes people more energetic, if you’re tired, rest some more, I’ve asked Aunt Huang to prepare meals, you can eat when you’re hungry later, I’m off to work at the company now.”

Lu Li shouted, ”Wait.”

Liu Kexin turned back puzzled, ”Is there something else?”

Lu Li pointed to his lips, ”Kiss me before you go to work.”

Liu Kexin snorted playfully, ”No way, you just woke up, you didn’t brush your teeth, I’m not kissing you.”

Lu Li thought to himself, his body had a certain self-cleansing ability, even if he hadn’t brushed his teeth after waking up, he was much cleaner than ordinary people.

However, he didn’t voice this thought, instead, he got out of bed and said, ”Then I’ll go brush my teeth now.”

Liu Kexin: ”...”

Lu Li got up to wash up, not just to kiss Liu Kexin, but also to prepare to go out together, he planned to find Ni Qingwen to ask questions.

...

A short while later, after washing up.

Lu Li didn’t actually kiss Liu Kexin, he just took the car keys to drive her to work at Vox.

Around one o’clock in the afternoon, he drove the Cullinan to the entrance of the Vox Company.

Liu Kexin unfastened her seatbelt and said, ”Thank you for driving me to work.”

Lu Li turned his head towards her and blinked, ”How will you thank me?”

Liu Kexin understood what he meant and quickly looked around.

After ensuring no colleagues were passing by, she leaned over and gave him a quick kiss.

Then, she got out of the car and walked towards the company entrance.

Lu Li was just about to drive away.

Suddenly, his phone chimed.

It seemed someone had sent a message on WeChat.

He picked up his phone to have a look.

It was a message from Shen Xia: Lu Li, have you returned to your country?

Last time, Ni Qingwen left in a hurry.

Lu Li didn’t have the chance to exchange contact information with her.

He actually wanted to get Shen Xia’s help to get her contact information.

Unexpectedly, Shen Xia messaged first.

He quickly replied: I just returned yesterday, have you returned?

As soon as he sent the message, he heard some greetings nearby.

”President Liu, good afternoon.”

”President Liu, have you had lunch?”

Upon hearing the voices, Lu Li turned his head towards the entrance of Vox.

He saw Manager Zhou and Vice Manager Lin greeting Liu Kexin.

Unlike the playful demeanor she had with him,

Liu Kexin appeared cold towards Manager Zhou and Vice Manager Lin.

She nodded slightly, ”Mm.”

After speaking, Liu Kexin walked in with a serious demeanor.

Seeing this, Lu Li couldn’t help but chuckle.

Liu Kexin indeed only showed a pleasant face when with him.

For others, she maintained her usual ”authority.”

After all, as a company president, one can be kind to regular employees but should maintain authority with direct subordinates to avoid them overstepping.

Lu Li glanced over and returned to his phone to see Shen Xia’s reply.

Shen Xia: I returned the day before yesterday, since you’re back, are you free tonight? I’d like to treat you to dinner.

Lu Li knew that she might sincerely want to invite him to dinner, but it wasn’t the real purpose. The main reason was probably to repay him for the hotel expenses in Ugly Country.

To be honest, he really didn’t lack the small amount of money for the hotel, and theoretically, he could refuse.

However, Lu Li knew that Shen Xia was a woman with quite a bit of pride.

If he didn’t accept the money, it might damage her self-esteem.

Besides, he originally wanted to find Ni Qingwen through Shen Xia, so he naturally wouldn’t refuse.

Lu Li typed: Sure, by the way, could you ask Miss Ni to join us? I have some new questions I’d like to consult her on. Also, are you free now? If you are, I can come find you directly.

Shen Xia: I’ll ask Qingwen if she’s free later. I’m not free right now, I’m in the lab, and I probably won’t get off until around 5 p.m. How about I contact you then?

Lu Li instinctively wanted to reply ”Okay,” but suddenly he thought of something.

He remembered that Shen Xia seemed to be doing research on particles.

So, he could ask her whether the subatomic particles of ”volcanic ash rock” could be synthesized artificially.

If Shen Xia thought it couldn’t be done, then he probably wouldn’t need to waste time asking Zhang Guocheng to help contact any particle research institutes.

With this in mind, Lu Li inquired: Can I come to your lab?

Shen Xia: You can, but today there are quite a few big names in physics coming to listen to my academic report, so I might not be able to attend to you.

Lu Li just wanted to ask in person whether the subatomic particles of ”volcanic ash rock” could be artificially synthesized, and it wouldn’t take up much of Shen Xia’s time.

Without hesitation, he replied: You go ahead with your work, don’t worry about me.

Shen Xia: Sure, come on over.

Lu Li put down his phone, turned the car around, and headed toward the research center.

...

Around 1:30 in the afternoon.

Lu Li arrived at the research center.

Shen Xia was already waiting at the entrance and waved her hand as soon as she saw him, ”Lu Li, this way.”

Lu Li looked at Shen Xia, who was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and jeans, and replied with a smile, ”You even waited for me at the door?”

Shen Xia smiled, ”I happened to have a little free time now, so I’ll settle you in first. At two o’clock, I might not have any time at all.”

There was still half an hour before she would be busy.

Lu Li pondered for a moment, then said proactively, ”You’re free now, right?”

Shen Xia nodded, ”Yes.”

Lu Li said, ”Great, I’ll draw a subatomic particle structure diagram, and you can take a look to see if it can be synthesized artificially.”

Shen Xia readily agreed, ”Sure, come with me to the office.”

Saying that, she turned and led the way in front.

Lu Li followed behind her, turned several corners, and arrived at their destination.

The office.

Shen Xia invited Lu Li to sit down on a chair in front of the desk and asked, ”Would you like some water?”

Lu Li waved his hand, ”No need, just get me a pen and a piece of paper.”

Shen Xia pulled open the desk drawer and took out a ballpoint pen and a notebook.

She asked with some curiosity, ”You’re not going to use a computer to generate the subatomic particle structure diagram?”

Lu Li took the pen and notebook, lowered his head, and said, ”No need.”

With that, he began drawing on the notebook with the pen.

Shen Xia was very puzzled.

Normally, whether it’s atoms or subatomic particles.

Structure diagrams are usually computer-generated.

Who would hand-draw a structure diagram?

Because she was so curious, she watched intently without blinking.

Lu Li drew an octagonal prism shape on the paper, and then he drew small balls representing electrons, neutrons, and protons within it.

Shen Xia watched on the side, incredulous.

It wasn’t that she saw anything unbelievable about this subatomic particle.

But rather that Lu Li’s subatomic structure diagram was even more standard than a computer’s.

She couldn’t help but praise him, ”Your drawing skills are really good.”

Lu Li kept his head down and continued drawing the structure diagram, ”Not bad, it’s muscle memory.”

Fearing she might disturb Lu Li, Shen Xia didn’t say any more.

Not long after, the structure diagram was finished.

Lu Li handed the notebook back, ”Take a look at this subatomic particle structure diagram.”

”Sure, just a moment.”

Shen Xia took the notebook and examined it closely.

Lu Li watched on, feeling a bit nervous.

He really wanted to know if the subatomic particles of ”volcanic ash rock” could be artificially synthesized.

After a short while, Shen Xia looked up with a somewhat confused expression, ”This kind of subatomic particle...”

Lu Li asked, ”What’s wrong?”

Shen Xia frowned and said, ”From the structure, it looks extremely unstable. It seems like even a slight movement would destabilize the structure, leading to decomposition or annihilation.”

As expected of a physicist, she could instantly see the key issues.

Lu Li nodded in agreement, ”Yes, it can only maintain its structure in a relatively static state. If it undergoes a certain degree of movement, it will annihilate immediately, thus releasing a huge amount of energy.”

Shen Xia asked a critical question, ”Do you mean it annihilates like nuclear fission or fusion, generating a large amount of energy?”

Lu Li replied truthfully, ”From what I know, when it annihilates, it produces about five times the energy released by nuclear fusion!”

Upon hearing this, Shen Xia’s eyes widened considerably, and she replied in disbelief, ”How much? It can produce five times the energy of nuclear fusion upon annihilation? Are you sure about this data?”
