Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 232: Chapter 212: Doubts

An abandoned factory, corpses strewn all around.

The flames from the crash and explosion of the Apache helicopter were still burning fiercely not far away.

The scattered remains of the Ajax armored vehicle and M1 Abrams main battle tank littered the area.

Lu Li looked towards the inside of the factory, where there were a dozen or so gangsters already scared witless, unable to hold their guns steadily.

His face showed no expression as he extended his right hand and pointed into the air.

In an instant, around his body, appeared ice spikes as thick as thumbs and half a foot long.

Upon seeing this, those inside threw away their weapons, knelt on the ground, and babbled incoherently, seemingly begging for their lives.

If it were any other setting, Lu Li might have shown mercy, but he had already seen the horrific scene in the basement and knew that these members of the Jalisco group were devoid of humanity and deserved no compassion.

He pushed forward with one hand without hesitation.

In the blink of an eye, dozens of ice spikes burst through the air, taking the lives of everyone inside.

After doing all this, Lu Li slowly floated towards the interior.

In his mind, he was still reflecting on how he performed in this battle.

Honestly, he had much faster and more efficient ways to eradicate the enemy all at once.

He did this only because he wanted to assess his true combat capabilities.

Through this battle, he learned.

His white light ray could easily melt and cut through the armor of the M1 Abrams main battle tank.

His teleportation could be used invisibly in combat, allowing him to reach the most vulnerable parts of the Apache attack helicopter and destroy it with the white light ray.

These were all ranged attack methods with astonishing power.

In fact, Lu Li discovered that his most formidable means were not the white light and teleportation, but his microscopic vision and altering force fields.

For instance, he destroyed three M1 Abrams main battle tanks by first using his microscopic vision to render various connected components of the tanks extremely fragile and then altering the gravity field around with his Biological Force Field, causing the steel to collapse.

”I seem to be far more powerful now than I was after completing the third deep evolution.”

Lu Li could analyze from his Biological Force Field that he had grown stronger.

Initially, after completing the third deep evolution, the Biological Force Field covered only about two meters.

Yet just now, when the armor-piercing rounds were incoming, he maximized his Biological Force Field, expanding it instantly to around four meters.

The expansion of the Biological Force Field was evidence of his increased strength.

There was also another direct piece of evidence; he just altered the gravity field to about tenfold.

It’s important to note that after completing the third deep evolution, he could only change the gravity by about fivefold, and now it’s doubled!

”It’s been just over a week since the third deep evolution, and I have already become nearly twice as strong as before?”

Lu Li felt somewhat incredulous while also determining that his previous belief about the limit of the third deep evolution was incorrect.

Initially, he thought that after the third deep evolution, as with the first and second, he would reach an ”upgrade” critical point, expected to be about the initial strength.

In fact, it wasn’t the case now.

Lu Li felt that he was twice as strong as when he completed the third deep evolution, yet there were still no signs of ”upgrading.”

”It seems the limit of the third deep evolution might be several times stronger than when it was first completed.”

Lu Li frowned, thinking to himself, ”This means if I want to enter the fourth deep evolution, it will become more difficult, and the energy required will be enormous.”

Entering the third deep evolution had already been a painstaking effort.

In the end, he had managed to develop the synthesis of high-energy compounds converted into energy to resolve it.

If considering the fourth deep evolution, based on strength analysis, the energy converted from the synthesis of high-energy compounds would likely be just a drop in the ocean, woefully inadequate.

How could he accumulate enough energy for such evolution when the time comes?

Forget it.

The future will take care of itself as things unfold.

He would consider this matter later.

Lu Li stopped pondering further for now.

He arrived at the entrance of the basement.

There was a locked iron door here.

Lu Li shot out a white light from his fingertip, melting the lock away, and floated inside with ease.

He entered into the basement.

He first went to the laboratory.

Immediately, he used his Spiritual Power to pick up and surround himself with books containing experimental records and data.

Lu Li then turned on the computer and found a USB drive in a drawer, quickly copying all the contents into it.

After completing all of this, he continued to float leisurely past.

Passing by the room with a large safe.

Lu Li only glanced at it and didn’t hurry to move on.

He would certainly take it away.

After all, they were his spoils of victory.

Though not right now.

At this moment, he had more important things to do.

In other words, this was the main reason he had to come here today to annihilate the members of the Jalisco Group.

Lu Li arrived at the neighboring ”cage”.

At this moment, the men and women, young and old, detained inside were all shocked awake by the massive rumbling sound they just heard and were now anxiously and fearfully grabbing onto the railings, constantly looking outside.

Perhaps it was seeing Lu Li’s bizarre appearance floating in midair.

Many people over there were yelling loudly.

Some were even so scared that they huddled in the corner, clutching their heads.

Only that naive white girl was slightly tilting her head, staring at Lu Li with an extremely curious gaze.

The official language of Mexico is Spanish, which Lu Li definitely didn’t speak.

And based on his understanding of Mexico, although English is the country’s first foreign language, the population proportion who can speak it is relatively low.

Lu Li didn’t know if anyone here could speak English, so he tried communicating in English, ”Does anyone here speak English?”

A middle-aged man in the detention room near the corner immediately raised his hand, ”Sir, I speak English.”

Lu Li pointed his finger, shooting out a white light to melt the lock of that detention room, ”Later, I’ll let everyone out. You take them and leave here as quickly as possible. I don’t need to tell you what to do next, do I?”

The crowd saw Lu Li flying and then pointing his finger to shoot out a white light melting the iron lock, and their pupils suddenly enlarged significantly.

The middle-aged man who had spoken earlier looked at him with awe, timidly asking, ”Could I ask, are you a divine being?”

Lu Li didn’t answer his question, and said expressionlessly, ”I’ve killed all the members of the Jalisco Group here. There are several off-road vehicles up there. You take everyone to find the keys and leave here quickly. Later, I’ll destroy this place.”

The middle-aged man dared not ask more questions and quickly agreed, ”Alright.”

Lu Li pointed a few times from a distance, melting all the iron locks in the detention rooms.

The middle-aged man and the group of people who were rescued knelt on the ground, chanting something in worship, then hurriedly walked upwards.

After everyone had left, Lu Li turned around and floated back to the large safe.

He used his X-ray vision to take a careful look inside.

He found that the largest safe in the middle was filled with gold bars.

Based on its volume, it was estimated to contain a ton of gold.

The two smaller safes on either side were filled with various gemstones and stacks of US Dollars.

Lu Li scanned with his spiritual power and estimated there were approximately fifty million US Dollars.

As for the value of the gemstones, it was hard to determine.

After all, there were diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and the like.

But given the large quantity, estimating they were incredibly valuable.

”Why did the Jalisco Group store so much gold, jewelry, and US Dollars in this abandoned factory?”

Lu Li felt very puzzled, always feeling something was unusual.

In fact, this thought had already formed in his mind when he initially faced off against two Apaches, three M1 Abrams main battle tanks, and five Ajax armored vehicles.

The M1 Abrams main battle tank costs eight million US Dollars to manufacture, with a foreign sale price as high as twenty-three million US Dollars.

The Ajax armored vehicle costs seven point six million US Dollars, and its market price is not far behind the M1 Abrams main battle tank.

Based on market prices, just the three tanks and five armored vehicles would cost about 180 million US Dollars.

Moreover, the Apache attack helicopters are even more expensive.

Lu Li remembered seeing a report once.

It was said that the Ugly Country sold ninety-six Apache attack helicopters to Poland for as high as twelve billion US Dollars.

This meant the unit price of an Apache was as high as 125 million US Dollars, and two were 250 million US Dollars.

Counting the tanks and armored vehicles, the total value was over 430 million US Dollars.

The Jalisco Group is very powerful in Mexico.

If the headquarters possessed such powerful heavy weaponry, it might not be very surprising.

But here is a suburban branch. Not counting firearms and ammunition, they even deployed such expensive heavy weaponry and stored so much gold, jewelry, and US Dollars?

This simply doesn’t make sense!

Lu Li figured things weren’t that simple.

But he really couldn’t guess the specifics right now, so he decided not to dwell on it.

”These gold, jewelry, and US Dollars are my spoils of war, and I must take them with me.”

Lu Li stepped forward, moving the three large safes together, then used anti-gravity to lighten their weight.

Then he lifted two with his hands and clamped one with his feet, and flew towards the ground.

He didn’t hurry to destroy this abandoned factory. He waited until the middle-aged man and the others found the keys and drove away, then used his spiritual power to ignite the flammable materials such as chemical substances inside the abandoned factory.

...

On the other side, on the bus.

Zhang Guocheng, Zhou Jinming, and others were still in extreme shock.

Suddenly, they saw the abandoned factory inexplicably catch on fire.

The fire was huge and quickly affected the drone’s aerial photography, making it impossible for them to see the situation clearly.

Just as everyone was confused, a series of three muffled ”boom boom boom” sounds suddenly rang from outside.

Everyone hurriedly looked out the glass window and saw three large safes somehow embedded deep into the ground, while Lu Li’s invincible figure slowly descended from midair.
