Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 344: Revised: Volume 5 Chapter 1 Back into Trouble_3

In the sky at this moment, dozens of Desic fighters and reconnaissance aircraft had appeared, making the area where the battle had just occurred a key reconnaissance zone. Along the way, to avoid the electronic surveillance of these low-flying reconnaissance aircraft, the Sharp Blade Company had to slow down and conceal themselves at all times.

Fortunately, it’s a mountainous area, which greatly limits radar, and the electronic shielding function of the electronic mecha is more powerful than those anti-detection jammers. Before the Desic fighters could accurately locate and destroy the source of interference, the radar of the reconnaissance aircraft was quite limited in these deep and broad mountainous jungles and could only rely on optical lenses during low-altitude sorties to look for traces of the Sharp Blade Company. Meanwhile, the Gazalin SkyNet System controlled by Little Pi could see farther than the electronic mecha and issue warnings before the reconnaissance aircraft reached the skies above the Sharp Blade Company.

Therefore, although the massive bodies of the Desic armored fighters kept circling on the horizon and numerous reconnaissance aircraft repeatedly passed by at low altitudes, the Sharp Blade Company still moved smoothly through the dense jungle, heading north.

”Whoosh!” Another reconnaissance aircraft swooped overhead, with a disc-shaped electronic probe rotating from the ovular combat aircraft’s belly.

”Fatty, do you think these are her own people?” This was the sudden voice of Little Pi. Concealed under a cliff, Fatty withdrew his gaze from the sky where the reconnaissance aircraft had disappeared and saw another satellite image on the mechanical computer. In the image, the Mythical Mecha Group had already arrived at the small peak where Bonnie was located.

Surrounded by dozens of mechas, Bonnie was coldly staring at an officer in front of her. The two stood there silently, as if waiting for something. Judging from the position and posture of the Vajra nearby, the Mythical Mecha Group did not seem very friendly towards Bonnie.

”Sigh!” Fatty felt a headache. This Little Pi seemed particularly interested in his and Bonnie’s affairs. This artificial intelligence, who had been underground for thousands of years and had never seen a woman, showed a special interest in matters between men and women, as if he had found a rare research subject, holding on tight and not letting go. And indeed, Fatty felt a bit guilty towards Bonnie. If something happened to Bonnie, he couldn’t just stand by.

”Keep observing. If you notice anything unusual, let me know.” Guessing the current relationship between the Mythical Army and Bonnie, Fatty wanted to cool down this gossip guy, deliberately speaking lightly.

”It’s unusual right now...” Little Pi pouted and said, ”The Desic Mecha Group on the west side did not move southeast along the original route; they suddenly changed direction!”

”Changed direction?” Fatty suddenly had a bad premonition.

”Yes, not only them, but the mecha group searching for Bonnie also started to gather, which should be under orders. Moreover, another Gazalin troop northeast of our SM1 and SM2 groups has also adjusted their course.” Little Pi brought up the map on the mechanical computer, extending the advance routes of the three troops, and arranged for the SkyNet’s spy satellites to search the intersection points of these routes.

”Where is this?” Looking at the intersection point on the map, Fatty felt puzzled; this place clearly deviated from the main force of the bandit army and his location.

”The mountains!” Little Pi’s answer was typical artificial intelligence logic, accurate yet meaningless.

Seeing the situation change, Fatty quickly ordered the Sharp Blade Company to hasten their journey. Before figuring out the enemy’s intentions, he needed to return to the main force to avoid being caught off guard.

The Sharp Blade Company sprinted through the jungle, with the situation growing stranger. Not only had the three enemy mecha units changed direction, but even the aircraft overhead had altered course, heading northwest.

Just as the Sharp Blade Company was about to reach the outskirts of the canyon where the bandit army’s main force was located, Little Pi’s search finally yielded results. As the three enemy mecha units moved, the search area of dozens of satellites controlled by Little Pi became smaller, and a high-definition satellite image made Fatty gasp.

The image showed none other than the main force of the Freedom Front, led by the three guides.

”Damn it!” Fatty felt lightheaded, having a string of bad luck. He never expected that just as he successfully diverted the enemy’s blockade troops and was about to break out of the encirclement, the main force of the Freedom Front, being pursued, unfortunately bumped right in! Given the current situation, if the bandit army did not rescue them, this mostly infantry resistance force would be doomed against the encirclement by three mecha units.

However, rescuing this group, already tightly monitored by Desic and Reinhardt’s SkyNet, and having no maneuverability, from the hands of a Mythical Mecha Group, a Desic Armored Group, and a sizable Gazalin Armored Force would be a Herculean task! Moreover, this was on enemy territory; even if they managed to withstand the attacks from the three mecha units, how many more enemies would swarm in afterward?
