Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 329: Revised: Volume 4 Chapter 66 Formation of Forces_4

This news was like a bolt from the blue for everyone present. They all knew that without the contraband and assistance from the Freedom Front over the past two months, the two full-mecha regiments would never have survived here.

In an instant, all the soldiers turned their eyes towards Tian Xingjian. After all, their future plans directly impacted everyone here.

Fatty understood that with the Freedom Front base destroyed, staying here was no longer an option. Besides the unsolvable issue of material supplies, if anyone from the Freedom Front had been captured and revealed the location of their encampment, it would spell immediate doom with an aerial-ground encirclement.

Nearly four hours had passed since the attack began, and the transfer of the troops could not be delayed any longer.

Exchanging a glance with Rashid and Stewart, Tian Xingjian gave his first order as General: ”All units assemble, prepare to break through!”

Twenty minutes later, the countless tents and materials had been cleared away. On the open ground by the lakeside, nearly 3,000 various mechas were neatly arranged. In the cold winter wind, a chilling atmosphere pervaded.

Fatty stood at the front of the formation, silently watching this group that had left their homeland, burdened with mission and duty, yet unsure of their path.

And all the mechanical warriors also silently gazed at the unassuming general before them.

In the hearts of all special soldiers, he was a legendary figure. Many of them had worked closely with Fatty before and were well acquainted with his exploits. The remaining soldiers had mostly seen the live broadcast of the ”Hero” show and found it incredible that one person could achieve so many astounding things.

Now, seeing him in person, and knowing that they would soon be under the leadership of such a man in an unimaginable, grueling, rear-guard war without an end in sight, filled with confusion and fear for the future, every person held their breath, eager to hear what this hero who miraculously survived the abyss would say to them.

Tian Xingjian smiled faintly. He had already figured it out on the way here. This war was not something that could be swayed by human will; what was meant to come would eventually come. In this chaotic world, the desire to preserve oneself was already a luxury for him. Since this burden had fallen on his shoulders, he had the responsibility to lead these comrades who had once fought life and death together to survive.

All of humanity was facing an apocalyptic war. Nobody knew how long this war would last, what the future held, or who would emerge victorious in the end. This was a great era destined for heroes to emerge. What he could do in this era was to survive, no matter how difficult or painful, he had to lead this team to survive until the day of victory or destruction.

Since survival was the goal, things became simple. So, his speech was also straightforward: ”Just now, Captain Stewart asked me a question: without a goal, guidance, allied forces, or supplies, what should we do? He wanted me to make a decision.”

Everyone was silent; these were their exact concerns.

”Make what decision? Anyway, we’re in someone else’s territory. Whatever we want, we take; do I even need to teach you that?” Fatty glared, gritting his teeth.

The warriors exchanged glances, admiring the general’s sharp and insightful guidance, pointing out a bright path from a bandit’s perspective. But could two mech regiments confined to the ground survive looting in territory defended by dozens of armored divisions? Wasn’t that courting death?

”But...” Fatty seemed to know what the soldiers were thinking and continued, ”Some might ask, we only have two regiments in total, with no airstrike support or air mobility, how do we loot?”

”I’ll tell you, from small to large, from weak to strong. Looting to sustain looting. As long as we put in the effort and endure hardships, there’s nothing in this world we can’t seize! I know Gazalin well. Just follow me; I know where the good stuff is. Don’t worry about the enemy’s numbers; they’re not united either. Their Emperor is still in our hands. What to loot is up to us, right?”

All the soldiers stared in shock at the gritting, impassioned Fatty General before them. This was the first time they had witnessed bandit mobilization raised to the level of strategic hardship and effort. Regardless, this seemed to be the only way out for the current force, and the general’s attitude resonated with them.

”Anyway, we don’t have specific combat missions. From today on, consider this a vacation. Everything depends on ourselves. To become a combat-effective looting force, to gain fame and recognition through looting, our team’s combat guiding thought must adhere to eight words...”

”What eight words?” The soldiers were puzzled and curious.

”Swarm on and scatter off!” The rogue set the tone for his team: ”Our designation also needs a change, two words, simple and clear...”

”Which two words?” Rashid and Stewart exchanged a look, seeing a bit of excitement in each other’s eyes.

Fatty waved his hand, and Little Pi controlled [Logic] to unfurl a large flag into the wind.

”Bandit Army!” Fatty’s voice soared as the flesh on his cheeks quivered mightily.

”Hooray!” The valley erupted with thunderous cheers.

A group of Fierce Tiger special soldiers who always bullied the weak and a bunch of special reconnaissance soldiers who dealt sly blows and sneak attacks now had the most shameless leader.
