Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 322: Volume 4, Chapter 65: The Bizarre [Magic Beast]

Walking a hundred meters along the weapon bay tunnel towards the bow of the spaceship, passing through a few malfunctioning automatic doors, and then crawling through a large hole carved out of the ship’s hull along a crack, was the tunnel excavated by the then ship captain Chen Xiuqi and others.

The tunnel was long, slanting upwards, and because it was sprayed with adhesive liquid from the repair ship on all sides, despite thousands of years passing, it still retained its original appearance without any collapse.

However, this kind of tunnel seemed somewhat cramped for [Logic]’s huge body. Fatty spent three whole hours digging and clawing his way to the surface exit.

As the light in front of him grew brighter and brighter, and with shallow soil layers already visible on the walls around him, Fatty, who had long grown weary of digging, couldn’t resist nudging the control lever. [Logic] shot out of the ground like a cannonball, forcefully breaking through the soil and into the sky.

It was noon, and the winter sun hung warmly in the sky. The rare clear sky, cloudless as far as the eye could see, instantly lifted Fatty’s spirits, and he let out a long, loud howl...

Damn, I heard this is how experts make their entrance.

Amidst the chaotic howling, the [Logic], which had restored eighty percent of its functions, did a somersault in mid-air and slowly descended.

Tian Xingjian opened the Mecha cockpit, jumped to the ground, and stood quietly in the silent forest, gazing at the surrounding mountains and listening to the wind howl through the treetops. The battle from two months ago felt like a distant memory.

At this moment, breathing in the fresh air and feeling the cold winter wind enter his lungs with each breath, Fatty’s eyes suddenly welled up with tears.

”Woo, woo... I, I am still alive!” The idiot sobbed and cried, rolling on the grass, overwhelmed with emotion.

The scene of jumping off the cliff still appeared vaguely before Fatty’s eyes: the despair of being hit and losing the auxiliary thruster in mid-air, and the wild joy of discovering the life-saving rock. The encounter in those few seconds was something he’d never forget for the rest of his life.

Thinking about how he was originally an honest person but was forced into fighting by Russell and his gang, he carried his head on his shoulders every day, without expecting any realistic reward, and not knowing how much longer this kind of life would go on, the more he thought about it, the more aggrieved he felt. Overwhelmed with sorrow, he couldn’t help but cry loudly, in a manner so tragic it was beyond description.

After howling for a long time and finally venting his two months of underground confinement, Fatty suddenly exclaimed ”Oh!” and instantly stopped crying. Looking ahead, he saw that the bushes and fallen leaves were scattered around, clearly marked by the remnants of artillery fire, appearing desolate against the winter snow. This place seemed very familiar.

Turning around, he saw that the underground tunnel exit was on a gentle slope of the mountain cliff, and the exit was well-hidden by giant bushes. If he hadn’t climbed out from the inside, he would probably pass by without discovering that there was actually a tunnel exit here.

Looking up along the explosion marks, he saw the cliff he jumped off from back then in the distance. Fatty was surprised to find that he had passed by this place while escaping, just twenty-odd meters from the tunnel entrance. Thinking about jumping off from there and climbing up here, he couldn’t help but feel amazed by his incredible journey.

While sighing deeply, he suddenly heard crying from behind in the Mecha. Turning around, he saw Little Pi standing on the control panel, wailing intermittently, with a wave-like laser mouth moving up and down.

Fatty ran, took off, and kicked Little Pi, angrily shouting, ”I just escaped death and am overwhelmed with emotion, why are you crying?”

Little Pi fell onto the cockpit floor, pounding the floor with his mechanical hands, crying, ”Woo, damn you, woo, I’ve been locked underground for thousands of years, who in the universe has suffered more than me? If I don’t cry, who will? Try being locked up for thousands of years if you can!”

Thinking about it, Fatty had to agree and said cheerfully, ”You’re right, you did fall deeper and were locked up longer than me, so it’s worth a good cry.” Seeing Little Pi cry even harder, Fatty felt more satisfied and said smugly, ”It’s great, having someone worse off than me balances me out instantly.”

”Pah!” Little Pi stopped crying immediately and angrily said, ”Fatty, you better think about how to find that woman! Speaking of bad luck, you’re not much better off than me.”

Tian Xingjian’s smug face instantly froze, and he glared at Little Pi, truly at a loss. [Logic] didn’t have the biological detection radar that medium transport ships had, and the onboard thermal sensing device could only cover a few hundred meters. Finding a woman who left eight or nine hours ago in this endless mountainous forest was like finding a needle in a haystack.

The two of them were staring at each other when they suddenly heard a beep from the Mecha radar. The originally empty radar screen’s edges suddenly filled with countless red dots, rapidly approaching.

Fatty was startled and quickly jumped into the cockpit. Little Pi, shivering, stuck close and asked, ”Fat Brother, are they friend or foe?” This little brat, quick to change his tune in a life-or-death situation, immediately called Fatty ”Fat Brother”.
