Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 326: After modification: Volume 4 Chapter 66 Formation of the Army

”Damn it... Ptooey! I’m your dad, and she’s your mom!”

Fatty used a spit attack, perfectly executed in a pinyin style, spraying the little kid’s face completely with saliva. Recognizing he was no match for Fatty and now held in submission, the little kid could only accept his fate, shaking his head angrily and saying, ”If she’s not, then she’s not! Why the spitting? Luckily, I’m waterproof.”

Fatty had dealt with the little kid with a gob of spit, but felt no sense of accomplishment. He inwardly groaned, ”Why does it have to be this female demon?”

This female pilot, who appeared pure and charming, was markedly different from the gentle and reserved Meiduo. Nia’s personality was bold and abrasive; she loved and hated with fervor. From the moment they had escaped from the prisoner of war camp, Fatty knew Nia had completely given her heart to him.

They had been very close on their journey, with Fatty taking his fair share of liberties. Even after Nia returned to the capital, she called him every day without fail, implying through her words that he was her boyfriend. But Fatty, though interested, lacked the courage. Later on, with Milan and the reunion with Ann Lei, he dared not provoke Nia further. Who would’ve guessed he would run into her here?

Just thinking about the sensation of Nia’s delicate hand pinching his waist, Fatty shuddered. Hearing Nia refer to herself in a hostile tone, he quickly opened the mecha’s hatch, jumped out, and rubbed his hands with a sheepish smile, saying, ”Nia, what are you doing here?”

As soon as Nia saw Tian Xingjian, her eyes reddened with tears that spun but did not fall. She bit her lip and asked, one word at a time, ”If Ann Lei can come, why can’t I?”

The jealousy in her tone was overwhelming. Fatty felt his head swell and wondered where Nia had learned about Ann Lei. His mind was chaotic, lamenting that being too handsome and attracting too much affection was not a good thing.

Reflecting that his life was plagued by romantic misfortune, he realized that his attractiveness was something he couldn’t fight against. Even though he prided himself on his integrity, he couldn’t stop Nia’s overwhelming love for him. His frail body stood no chance; if Nia wanted to take him by force, he could only let her do as she pleased, like the moon shining over a broad river, powerless to resist.

Feeling a sad self-pity, he displayed a face full of concern to shift the topic, saying, ”Look at you, what a state you’re in! Luckily, I arrived in time, or else...” Holding back his words, his eyes reddened even more than Nia’s, and tears welled up in his eyes.

”Fatty...” Nia lovingly gazed at the person she had missed day and night, her lips trembling as she bit down, and finally, tears she could no longer control began to roll. The grievances of the past two months surged up all at once.

”It’s over! My fortune didn’t come to fruition!” Fatty closed his eyes and sighed just as Nia rushed into his embrace, hugging him tightly and sobbing, ”Where the hell were you? We’ve been looking for you for two months. I didn’t believe you were dead, but we couldn’t find you. I... I...”

As Nia choked back her sobs, her hand instinctively pinched the soft flesh of Fatty’s waist.

”Hiss, hiss.” Fatty’s tears also began to fall.

With her head buried in Fatty’s chest, Nia’s willow-like body trembled, her shoulders shaking, as her tears drenched the entire front of Fatty’s shirt.

This sudden reunion after near despair made Nia’s taut nerves finally relax. Reflecting on her two months of worry and hardship, all just for this detestable Fatty standing before her, she felt pained knowing there was another woman in his heart. He undertook such a dangerous mission without her knowing a thing.

She was overcome with sadness, grievance, and joy all at once. The pent-up emotions burst forth like a breached dam, and she cried uncontrollably, her tears streaming down like raindrops on pear blossoms, making her look even more pitiable.

Nia’s grievance brought suffering to Fatty. Even without looking, he could tell how the flesh on his waist turned from red to blue, and then to purple.

Eventually, the two embraced each other and wept, one from grievance, the other from pain.

Despite the pain in his waist, Tian Xingjian felt deeply moved. Nia was here and being chased because of him. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t still be here after two months.

After all, in this godforsaken place, there were no valuable military targets or strategic points. And the captured Gazalin Emperor wouldn’t have lasted two weeks, let alone two months, before being executed by the ruthless individuals of the Freedom Front if the Federation didn’t rescue him. They had no compassion for James.

Fatty, his face streaked with tears, lifted his head pitifully, only to see several ”Warrior Leaders” with open cockpit hatches. Some special soldiers were intently watching, one even filming him with a battlefield recorder.

Fatty couldn’t help but feel embarrassed, patting Nia and softly saying, ”Stop crying. I’m here safe and sound. The enemy who just fled will surely return. We need to leave here and find a safe place to talk.”

”Okay.” Nia replied like a little kitten, yet she wriggled against Fatty, ”My mecha is broken. Take me with you.”

Feeling Nia’s soft and fragrant body wriggle in his arms, Fatty felt overwhelmed, his blood rushing to his head, almost losing control again. Before his Junior went out of control, he gently and discreetly pushed Nia aside, turning seriously to the Fierce Tiger Special Soldiers and asking, ”Besides you guys, are there any other brothers here?”
