Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 333: After modification: Volume 4 Chapter 68 Breakthrough

Tian Xingjian was hesitating when reports from reconnaissance squads patrolling the mountain peaks on both flanks of the main forces and extending out over several dozen kilometers suddenly came through on the regional communication channel.

”Report, General. A Desic Mecha Group has been spotted 60 kilometers west of our forces, approaching our security zone.”

”Report, General. An unknown-sized Desic Armored Force has been found 43 kilometers to our east, moving toward the southwest behind our forces.”

”Report, General... A Gazalin Armored Force is heading this way, 160 kilometers west of our front.” The little kid’s voice was trembling yet serious: ”Look at the radar image, we are surrounded!”

On the electronic radar map of the Logic mechanical computer, within a 200-kilometer radius, red markers representing mechas were densely packed. Some blockade units previously discovered had evidently changed their movement directions, constantly compressing the strategic space for the bandit army.

Fatty suddenly felt his head swell; he knew that the SkyNet System controlled by the little kid was not omnipotent. It might be a crystal ball that could see a thousand miles but not a flawless camouflage net. Considering the Desic Empire’s warships and troops spread throughout the Little Pyrenees Star System, their SkyNet System was equally powerful.

Clearly, the enemy had, through some channel, learned of the original stationing locations of the two Federation Special Forces Groups. On this planet, with their firm control of the air, they could bomb any area of interest without restraint. A reconnaissance plane could take off from an airbase hundreds of kilometers away and complete its mission within 20 minutes.

Since the stationing location was exposed, Fatty knew even standing from a radar that the sky would soon be filled with reconnaissance airplanes searching for their bandit army. If the troops’ march route was exposed, it would be followed by endless air strikes. The whole unit would be like a bright lamp, drawing all enemy forces.

However, because of the electronic jamming from nearly a hundred Antenna mechas from two mecha groups, the enemy had not yet discovered the troops’ whereabouts. Otherwise, the unknown-numbered Desic Mecha Force in the east would have moved directly from the southwest to coordinate with the western Desic Mecha Group for a pincer attack.

Now, it’s not a matter of whether to fight, but how to fight.

One must defeat one of the enemy troops to break out of this invisible encirclement and move far away.

Currently, the best target seems to be the Mythical Mecha Group that is about to block the advancing path. If they can finish the battle within two hours, the northeastern Gazalin Armored Force won’t have enough time to arrive here.

In an instant, Fatty’s mind raced. The overall situation resembled a character that looks like ”6”. The top point was the Mythical Mecha Group. Only by smashing this mecha group head-on would the bandit army be free from the horizontal stroke attacking from the side. The bottom angular stroke was the unknown-numbered Desic force, which, based on their current route, was moving further from the bandit army.

However, the most critical issue is that once the battle starts, even if the Antenna suppresses the Mythical Mecha Group’s communications, the fierce explosions will still be heard by the two Desic Mecha Groups only a few dozen kilometers away. Coupled with omnipresent reconnaissance aircraft in the sky, it would be delusional to end the ambush and retreat within half an hour secretly.

To escape from such an almost deadlock situation, every step must be flawless. Fatty was nervously running simulations on the mechanical computer, but no matter how he simulated it, they would eventually fall into the enemy’s encirclement. He was sweating anxiously.

While hesitating, Fatty suddenly noticed a problem in the images sent by the Reconnaissance Soldier earlier.

Having freelanced in wars for years, Fatty was familiar with an armored group’s movement before launching an attack. However, the formation of this Mythical Special Group bore no resemblance to a force maintaining vigilance, ready to engage in large-scale enemy combat.

The dispersed formation without fan-shaped flanks for cover indicated that this armoured group advancing in a searching formation targeted a non-threatening single or small unit.

”Who are they looking for?” Fatty’s heart skipped a beat. A familiar figure vaguely surfaced in his mind but was quickly dismissed. Now, regardless of who this mecha group was searching for, it had given the bandit army an opportunity to swiftly crush them and retreat from the battlefield unawares.

As for the two Desic Imperial Armored Forces to the east and west, the focal point of the plan was on the final stroke of the ”6.” Scrutinizing the map for simulations, a commonly used magic trick came to Fatty’s mind.

Create inertia of thought!

With the plan settled, Fatty sweet-talked Nia into another Honor 15 medium-sized mecha, turning to call Rashid and Stewart, ”You are aware of the current situation, aren’t you?”

Rashid and Stewart exchanged glances and nodded seriously. Based on the reconnaissance squads’ reports and the shared SkyNet Radar data from Logic, their situation was indeed dire.
