Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 341: Volume 4, Chapter 70: The First Glimpse of Majesty

Fatty originally thought that, even if equipped with the new Ninth Generation Mecha, it would take at least fifteen minutes to deal with the reserve troops near the Desic Armored Division commander’s side, almost two companies strong. But unexpectedly, from Torick leading the troops to defeat the enemy, it took less than five minutes, and by the time some Desic Mecha soldiers scattered and fled, being chased and killed by [Hunters] one by one, it only took a total of ten minutes!

This result left Fatty dumbstruck. He knew that whether it’s the Sixteenth Division’s Special Reconnaissance Group or the First Division’s Fierce Tiger Special Group, they are all elite Special Soldiers selected from thousands, trained under the strictest special combat regimens, honed to perfection in the wars with Gazalin, seasoned veterans repeatedly tempered in the fire and smoke of battle! However, he could not have imagined that once these soldiers were equipped with the new Special Mecha, they could unleash such terrifying combat effectiveness!

”This is exactly like cutting watermelons and slicing cabbage!” Fatty felt a strong urge as he carefully observed the [Hunters].

With these Mecha, life behind enemy lines would be much better, but unfortunately, there were too few of these Mecha. He had only two hundred units, while the rest were old Seventh Generation long-distance attack Mechas. To engage the Desic Empire, which possesses such strong military power, in a long-term confrontation, he must enhance his equipment capabilities!

”Snatch Mecha, snatch weapons, snatch parts, snatch equipment!” Determinedly green-eyed, Fatty swore to arm his troops to the teeth, to show the Desic bastards that even a Mechanical Repair Soldier is not someone to easily mess with!

Quickly dismantling the damaged controls system of the [Thunder Warrior] cockpit cover with [Logic]’s mechanical repair arm, Fatty roughly grabbed Wassim out, smugly and arrogantly shouted: ”Let’s go! Make your soldiers drop their weapons and surrender!”

Wassim coldly laughed, straightening his wrinkled clothes, standing tall and proudly said: ”You’re dreaming!”

”Hey!” Fatty gasped, jumped out of the Mecha, drew an energy pistol from his waistband, weighed it in his hand, circled around Wassim clockwise with a tilted head, came back to his original spot, just about to threaten when he saw Wassim looking scornfully and defiantly at him, spitting fiercely onto the ground. Fatty exclaimed in surprise, gasped again, circled counterclockwise, viciously said: ”Kid, they say a wise man submits to circumstances, also that a hero doesn’t suffer immediate losses. If you want to save your life and suffer less, you better listen to me!”

Wassim sternly shouted: ”Since ancient times, who hasn’t faced death? Leave a loyal heart to shine in history! Want me to surrender? You’re dreaming!”

Fatty’s eyes turned red, he burst into tears, pounding his chest and feet in utter grief, howling: ”Damn you, it’s you who invaded us! Not only did you invade, but with such righteousness! If you say these things, and I get caught later, what am I supposed to say!” With that, he howled, forcefully pushed Wassim to the ground, pinned him down, started slapping him left and right, crying while gnashing his teeth: ”I’ll teach you to act righteous, I’ll show you what a hero is, today I’ll beat the crap out of you!”

Torick and the others shook their heads and sighed, looking at Wassim lying on the ground enduring humiliation yet remaining unyielding, and then at Fatty atop him, slapping away, they felt deeply ashamed.

Initially, Wassim gritted his teeth and endured, but after a fierce beating, his body ached intolerably. Seeing Fatty’s ultimate move, a seven hundred and twenty-degree flip followed by Monkey Stealing Peach, Wassim was instantly terrified, shouting: ”Don’t hit there! Don’t hit there!”

Fatty roared: ”I must hit!”

Wassim shouted: ”I surrender, I surrender!”

Fatty furiously roared: ”No surrender! If you dare to surrender, I’ll shoot you!”

Wassim instantly collapsed. He was already bruised and battered, unable to move without severe pain. Dizzy and disoriented, he thought about his defeat, being captured, he wouldn’t see a better day in the Desic Empire, now fallen to such a despicable Fatty; he couldn’t even surrender, seeing Fatty’s determinedly contemptuous face, he shouted surrender several times before fainting.

”Fainted?” Fatty disappointedly tapped Wassim’s head, cursing: ”Damn it, so fragile, you think I want to steal your peach? My own peach looks way better than yours!” Saying this, the rascal looked reluctant as he straddled Wassim again before standing up, showing a pitiful face, Torick and others could only watch with discomfort, realizing Fatty was utterly ruthless.

Fatty waved [Antenna] to lift the communication shield, connected the [Thunder Warrior]’s communicator separately to the power source, restarted it, and kicked Wassim awake: ”Hurry up, make your troops cease attack immediately, gather everyone at the bottom of the Jump Layer! If you move too slow, if my warriors lose one or two, you better pluck your peach and throw it away!”

No matter how strong a line of defense, once it collapses thoroughly, fear only hits harder.

Wassim dared not delay any longer, hastened to issue orders, forcibly directing all 137th Division Mecha soldiers to cease attack and gather at the bottom of the Jump Layer.

As an old-fashioned military empire, Desic is extremely strict in military discipline, for direct commands from superior officers, every soldier must unconditionally obey, regardless of the reason, without thinking, without questioning, without explanation, this is iron discipline. Even without knowing what happened, the 137th Division Mecha soldiers unconditionally executed orders. Whether from the Guard Company and 5th Group battalions rushing to the combat zone, or the flanking units already at the bottom of the Jump Layer, they immediately revised their action targets and the 2nd Group battalions, desperately enduring the fierce attack from thirty [Hunters] and several [Angers], felt relieved, ceasing combat in front of the slowing down Leray Mecha soldiers.

Over ten minutes later, Tian Xingjian led his troops to the combat zone, joining the other thirty [Hunters] and three [Antennas] as well as six [Angers] responsible for attracting enemy forces.

When Wassim, who had been captured, saw the terrain and scenery of the combat area, he understood that he had lost without any grievance!

As an officer who graduated from the Desic First Military Academy with excellent grades, although he had been deceived, this did not affect his ability to use his military analysis to see through the entire plan after the fact!

Opportunities are always reserved for those who are prepared. It is the same in war.

This Leray Mecha Battalion had clearly done their homework for this operation! They had made this terrain and the entire plan seamless!

At the top of the mountain full of giant redwoods, there was a narrow and steep rocky area. As far as the eye could see, there were two mountains of equal height on the left and right, also having jump layer terrain.

From the top of the mountain, descending vertically through two steps to the bottom of a wide valley, there was the assembly point of the 137th Division.

And here, there was a gentle slope extending down like a continental shelf by the coast! The only gentle slope! A slope where auxiliary thrusters were not needed for jumping down!

This was the combat area where the Leray Federation Mecha Company had used thirty mechas to attract them!

The narrow slope was covered with mecha wreckage. Although these wreckages were only pieces or chunks of scrap iron, from the iron-blue paint, it was obvious at a glance that these were Desic mechas.

After attracting the pursuit of the 137th Division, the Leray Mecha Battalion first disrupted the formation of the left wing by suddenly changing direction and horizontal cuts, using their superior combat power. Then, they lured the two mecha battalions of the left wing, who thought they had the advantage, to this gentle slope. One can imagine, at the moment of reaching the slope, the two battalions of the second group finally caught up with the Leray Mecha Battalion as they wished, surrounding it completely! At this moment, it should have been the happiest time for the second group. They found that they had pursued very timely. If they had been a bit later, the Leray people would have descended the gentle slope to the bottom of the jump layer. That would have caused a lot of trouble for the 137th Division’s pursuit!

But then, the second group was no longer happy! Because these one hundred new mechas were indeed Ninth Generation mechas, and even more powerful killer special mechas compared to ordinary Ninth Generation ones! The encirclement formed by over four hundred Seventh Generation mechas was not tight because the numerical advantage of the mechas had been dispersed. Therefore, this encirclement was quickly broken through! The cunning Leray people did not break through forward but backward! Those more than one hundred Black Armed units responsible for the rear encirclement were no match for these new mechas at all!

What confused the second group even more was that after the breakthrough, these Leray people did not rush to escape. Instead, after clearing the enemies behind, they split up; thirty new mechas and a few Antenna units, as well as Anger for maintaining fire suppression, were left behind on this narrow rocky slope, blocking the second group on the gentle slope that allowed no more than eight mechas to pass side by side! As solid as a reef! Despite the second group attacking like waves, they remained unmoved!

Then, the other seventy new mechas disappeared! They used their stealth, using the habitual thinking created by the second group being the guiding light for the 137th Division, and vanished.

When the Desic 5th Group and the Guard Battalion, because the second group was engaged in combat, did not check the roadsides between them and the second group, hurriedly rushed to the combat area, these Leray warriors stealthily went in the opposite direction. Under the cover of the jungle, they intersected with the Desic mechas reinforcing the second group and miraculously appeared in front of the division command, which had less than two companies of guards!

Then, they struck with one blow!

In the jungle, in a battle of fewer against more, could there be a more perfect plan than this?

From luring, to changing direction, from controlling speed to create distance, to the reverse breakthrough at the gentle slope, from the concentrated electronic attack on the second group’s communication control, to using thirty mechas to hold off ten times the enemy, from creating the illusion of breaking through the jump layer, to seventy mechas turning back to ambush, everything was like a beautiful masterpiece of art without a flaw, seamless!

The superior force of two groups was peeled away layer by layer like armor, and then, a dagger thrust straight into the heart!

Wassim felt desolate; if all this were not a coincidence, if all this were pre-planned, then this enemy was truly terrifying!

Plans that can only be seen through after the dust settles are always the most terrifying plans!

When did the Leray Federation produce such a top commander?
