Armed Train in the Apocalypse

East City Association Floating Island.

The originally burning makeshift tents had gone out, and the tent in the middle was pitch black.

Wei Dong, along with a few trusted subordinates, gathered at a landing point on the edge of the floating island, staring grimly at the armored train battlefield.

Fighting had just erupted over at the brick factory, but there was still no feedback from Longyan’s side.

Obviously, this guy had hidden quite a few things again.

The East City Association appeared to be a united organization on the surface, but in reality, it was just a facade. The three leaders had their own individual interests, and as the head, he was only nominally above the two of them. In reality, they each had their own schemes.

The rope beside them suddenly shook, and a few subordinates hurriedly turned the wheel to pull someone up.

The subordinate sitting in the iron frame was drenched in sweat and had a pale, dispirited look on his face, ”Brother Dong, it’s all gone!”

Seeing him in this state, Wei Dong’s heart sank, and he quickly asked, ”What’s gone? Where’s Longyan?”

”Longyan and his men were all captured!”

Upon hearing this, everyone exploded with noise.

Someone incredulously said, ”All captured?”

”How is that possible!”

”Longyan led over a hundred people, with over ten vehicles, and yet they were captured without a fuss? Do you think they were just a hundred pigs?”

”Yeah, we were watching from above, there wasn’t any commotion.”

”Everyone, shut up!”

With a stern shout from Wei Dong, everyone immediately went silent.

The man, still in a daze, looked into the darkness below to confirm he was on the floating island before feeling a bit relieved and urgently looked at Wei Dong, ”They even discovered me, but luckily I ran early and wasn’t caught. I’m not sure if they’ve followed.”

”Discovered?”

Wei Dong’s pupils shrank as he grabbed the man’s collar, ”Did you see how they took down Longyan and his men?”

”It was too far away to see clearly, but the convoy was overtaken by several hundred people. They moved skillfully, definitely not simple Scavengers. They felt like... like Donghuang Heavy Industry.”

Upon hearing this, everyone instantly felt like a chicken being choked.

Wei Dong’s eyelid twitched, and he let go.

”There’s absolutely no way it’s Donghuang Heavy Industry!”

This statement was meant to reassure his subordinates as well as himself. He knew better than anyone the gap between the East City Association and Donghuang Heavy Industry. If the latter took action, they wouldn’t even have a chance to struggle before being obliterated.

A trusted subordinate nervously asked, ”Then what should we do?”

Wei Dong looked at the dark earth below the floating island, his face hardened, ”Leave now. Spread the news of stepping on foreign dragons entering the border, and naturally, someone will take care of them!”

Everyone exchanged looks, ”...Then are we not waiting for the Dragon Head and the others?”

Wei Dong cast a cold glance at him, ”If you want to wait, stay here and do so by yourself.”

No one dared make a sound after that.

...

The cold, sharp moonlight draped over the land.

An electrifying figure darted straight through the wilderness under the night, like a sharp paper slicer tearing the night, rushing towards the brick factory a dozen kilometers away.

Long hair was tossed by the wind, dancing like wild serpents, the golden and silver hues covering the earlobes climbing a beautiful and eerie face.

Su Huan was increasingly fond of the feeling of running, emptying his mind and letting everything be entrusted to his body’s instincts, feeling the steady heartbeat and the cold wind brushing past his ears, every cell in his body jubilantly cheering as if activating a precise and massive machine.

In his mad sprint, Su Huan glanced upwards, noticing a figure even faster than him cutting in from the side.

Carrying a long-handled axe taller than a person, every time her bare feet pushed off the ground, the muscle fibers in her long legs tightened and released like steel cables, leaving a beautiful footprint twenty centimeters deep in the earth.

”My master, are you going to kill someone this late at night?”

A magnetic and enchanting voice shattered layers of airwaves, reaching Su Huan’s ears.

Feeling the intense bloodlust emanating from the other, Su Huan didn’t need to ask to know she had advanced to Tier Two.

What troubled him more was the latter’s attire; the fitted tactical uniform was gone, replaced by steaming fur. It was unclear which unlucky Evolution Beast it was ripped from, barely covering the front’s flesh, and loosening everywhere else.

Mirror blinked, ”I woke up like this.”

Su Huan sighed, stopped, removed his outermost knitted sweater, and draped it over Mirror, leaving himself with just an undershirt.

The brand new sweater was gone as soon as it was worn.

After all, she was his subordinate, albeit somewhat scatterbrained. He couldn’t just let her go out dressed like that.

Su Huan was tall, so the same knitted sweater looked even longer on Mirror. The hem covered past her buttocks, barely concealing the top of her thighs, leaving two well-proportioned long legs visible.

Feeling the warmth of the clothes, Mirror paused, pinched the oversized sweater, and instinctively lifted it for a look.

”Put it down!”

Su Huan reprimanded her.

”Hide later, and don’t attack unless I give the order.”

”Yes, Master.”

Mirror discarded the blood-stained fur, revealing a stunning smile on her blood-splattered face.

From the way they spoke, Su Huan already distinguished the two personalities of Mirror. The one calling him ”Master” was the one with full memory but unstable emotions, only appearing during combat. The other managed eating and sustaining the body daily.

After explaining things clearly, Su Huan continued in the direction of the brick factory, the closer he got, the clearer the sound of battle became.

The gunfire wasn’t particularly dense, but something had caught fire, causing a huge commotion.
