Armed Train in the Apocalypse

His palm groped rapidly around, then precisely grabbed a Night Demon’s neck and smashed it hard against the Power Armor, followed by a string of bone-cracking sounds that made your teeth ache.

A Tier One Zombie that could tear through steel was like a just-hatched chick in her hands, crushed dead one in each hand.

Then she grabbed the edge of the Power Armor with both hands and tore viciously.

With a ripping sound, metal was torn apart, and the woman wrapped in a blue-purple Fungus Carpet drilled straight out of the Power Armor. Her wolfish, hungry eyes locked onto the Long-handled Axe hanging from the Butcher’s head in the distance, her whole body shrouded in drifting blood mist that was inhaled and exhaled in sync with the Fungus Carpet’s breathing.

Mirror’s eyes were blood-red and burning. With a sharp screech, her whole body was like a dark-red combat knife, plunging back into the battlefield.

Even with empty hands, she was more ferocious than when she was holding the Long-handled Axe.

Whether it was a Tier One Night Demon or a Tier Two Hunter, anything that got caught by her hands was shredded into minced meat; the whole battlefield was saturated with blood.

By the time she snatched back her axe, the last zombie nearby had already fallen.

The woman, wearing nothing but a single Fungus Carpet, stood in the middle of the corpses, hefting that flamboyantly shaped Long-handled Axe. The blood mist around her was so dense it almost blocked everyone’s vision, and a large amount of free-floating Pan Energy on the battlefield was being absorbed into her, forming an energy cocoon.

He Jie, completely confused, hopped over to Su Huan’s side. ”What the hell is going on?”

”Her second class evolved too.”

”Tch, being a Genetic Primordial is really easy mode, wanna evolve and boom, you’re up a rank.”

”She still needed high-intensity combat for it.”

Su Huan added a line of explanation.

Of course, that explanation was for Mirror; he himself didn’t need it.

He Jie muttered unhappily. Back when the apocalypse had just begun, he’d already been Tier One, and after a year of bloody battles he’d only managed to break into Tier Two with a Genetic Potion. Which fight wasn’t brutal? Which one wasn’t nastier than this?

Bunch of walking cheats!

Blood-colored turbulent currents were reflected in Su Huan’s pupils; those were the energy traces Mirror had left on the battlefield just now. Sensing the energy in her body undergoing metamorphosis, he hadn’t interfered in her fight, letting her evolve in her own way.

Originally, Mirror’s second class was Tier Two ”Great Axe Vanguard,” with five skills: ”Combat Factor,” ”Combo Instinct,” ”Burst,” ”Heavy Weapon Specialization,” and ”Energy Blade,” a pure offensive Evolver path with no retreat button.

That was why that Evolver constructed by Deep Blue Data, based on her genes and Tier Two advancement, had been beaten so miserably by Liang Kuan.

Her other class was only Tier One, a purely flesh-and-blood taboo route, so after Director Xu found out, he only dabbled a bit. This was an evolution route the Train Conductor had explicitly banned.

Mirror had awakened this direction very early on and couldn’t change it later, so Su Huan hadn’t said anything.

Today that class finally reached Tier Two.

However, this flesh route was a bit different from the ones Su Huan had known in his last life. Mirror’s berserk state earlier had come from the ”Burst” and ”Energy Blade” skills, not a flesh-rampage state, and there weren’t any proliferated mutant organs on her body.

Aside from a slightly elevated flesh activity level, she still had a normal human body.

Right now, that mass of blood mist was being slowly absorbed by Mirror. He was sure this wasn’t the Fungus Carpet’s doing—Mirror herself was absorbing the blood and expelling the impurities, forming the lingering blood mist in the air.

With a roar of pain, Su Huan’s brows twitched slightly.

Two entirely different energies had fused inside Mirror’s body; it felt a bit like when he deliberately mashed two class skills together.

Except Mirror’s fusion was more natural, more in line with instinct.

Her skills were already beginning to fuse at the genetic level.

That was about as far as he could see; any deeper and it wouldn’t be the domain of energy anymore.

Judging that it would still take a bit of time, Su Huan remembered he still had to test the Power Armor on him. He roused his spirits a little; there were still plenty of zombies in the distance that hadn’t been blown up.

Su Huan gently stirred the energy inside the Power Armor.

Because it used crab shells with the ”Eternal Energy” trait, the Power Armor didn’t need an extra energy source. It came with its own energy, and once it was drained, if you just left it there, the armor would slowly absorb free energy from the air.

Feeling the energy’s response, Su Huan’s confidence surged.

A flash of lightning—like a crimson thunderbolt slashing across the battlefield—tore through the air, the shockwave so violent that He Jie staggered beside him. He stared after the departing Su Huan, even letting the cigarette butt fall from his mouth without noticing, eyes bulging wide. ”You’re telling me this is still just Power Armor?”

”Can you get me a set too?”

Yu Yue, who was linking to the entire battlefield with her Ability, reminded him at just the right time, ”Your injuries aren’t healed yet. Xiaojing said the new model of Power Armor is very taxing on the body.”

He Jie picked up his cigarette butt, stuck it back in, and took a long drag, completely unconcerned. ”It’s not like they can’t heal. But if I can’t wear something that badass, I’d rather get beaten to death right here.”

”Then I’ll ask Xiaojing for you.”

Just as she finished speaking, the [Thunder] Power Armor piloted by Su Huan dove straight into the ground.

The rolling wave of earth and the booming rumble crashing over him made He Jie choke, and he muttered, ”Maybe I can wait a bit longer.”

He remembered that [Thunder] didn’t have a helmet...

Elsewhere, deep underground, the Train Conductor’s heart had already stopped. Fortunately, the second core was both maintaining the flow of energy in his body and continuously stimulating his heart.

Under the constant stimulation of energy, his heart suddenly thumped, blood began flowing again, and the pounding sounded like the earth’s heartbeat. His narrow eyes snapped open beneath the ground, and in the next instant, the surface shattered as the battered Train Conductor burst out of the earth, leaping dozens of meters into the sky.
