Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Then it fell again.

Boom!

Struggling to get up, soaring into the sky, and falling again.

Boom boom boom...

A bizarre scene quickly appeared on the battlefield. The conductor wearing the Power Armor seemed like he had drunk fake wine, even standing up was difficult. He half-knelt on the ground, barely managing to straighten his body, and the next moment he soared tens of meters into the sky, then fell straight down like a black and red coffin embedded into the earth.

Fortunately, the material of the Power Armor was really strong. Su Huan didn’t know how many zombies he crushed to death or how many rocks shattered, yet the surface of the Power Armor showed not a single scratch or damage.

This uncoordinated situation lasted for more than three minutes before Su Huan barely got familiar with how to operate this damn Power Armor, barely able to stand quietly and jump forward.

It wasn’t walking but jumping forward like a zombie. If both legs didn’t move at the same time, a disastrous takeoff would result.

The interior of Thunder was designed with an extremely sensitive conduction system, directly attached to his skin surface, capable of capturing even the slightest movement he made and then feeding back into the Power Armor, though initially, these feedbacks were too intense.

Causing even small actions to become some sort of excessive behavior.

Moreover, Su Huan didn’t need to input much energy; the Power Armor could boost his speed by about fifty percent.

This was quite a terrifying enhancement, combined with Su Huan’s own physical constitution, his speed in this aspect had already reached the peak of Tier Three, and even surpassed it.

This was also the reason Su Huan was willing to wear this Power Armor, even if it left him with a face full of dust.

Even if Thunder only had a speed boosting feature, it could double his combat power!

Moreover, from using it, Su Huan felt that Thunder was far more than this. He was a Tier Two ”Fighting Expert,” with a skill called ”Hyper-speed Nerves.” With his nerve reflex speed and bodily control, the speed boost shouldn’t be making things so awkward.

There was only one reason...

”The neural connection amplified his sensory abilities, and combined with the significant enhancement of his physical fitness, caused his senses to be displaced. This is a fatal error. Your design is creative, but...too bold.”

Inside the moving carriage, Dean Zhou looked at the crimson figure disappearing into the distance with a heavy gaze.

Beside him, Tan Yunxi hesitantly nodded, her ears much larger than a mongoose’s, flapping as she moved.

Yu Jing calmly looked at the remaining red mist on the battlefield and said lightly, ”Through traditional scientific research, even in another ten years we won’t be able to iterate current exoskeletons and Power Armor. Flesh-mecha is the only viable way.”

Zhou Qing clearly did not agree, her brows furrowed, ”Why not consider biological prostheses? The stability of the Fungus Carpet is far superior to biological flesh and far more adaptable than what we have now. Tier One Evolvers can quickly get the hang of it. Once the main consciousness communication issue is solved, even the built-in AI can be omitted.”

”It’s a decent direction.” Yu Jing turned around and looked straight into Dean Zhou’s time-weathered eyes, calmly stating, ”You don’t understand him. He wouldn’t entrust control to a Fungus Carpet with its own consciousness. Those two Fungus Carpets can be used in other Power Armor developments, but he wouldn’t use them himself.”

Looking at this girl, as stubborn as he was in his youth, even more so, Zhou Qing sighed inwardly.

”Aren’t you worried about him?”

”I’ve already tried.”

Yu Jing’s voice carried an indifferent tone of inevitability, ”I have other matters to attend to. I leave the direction of mechanical exoskeletons and biological prostheses to you.”

The carriage door closed, leaving only Tan Yunxi and Zhou Qing inside.

Tan Yunxi’s inquisitive gaze was blocked by the door, turning to Zhou Qing, ”Mr. Zhou, what were you talking about?”

Zhou Qing’s eyes twinkled, returning to a gentle demeanor, ”Just an experimental direction. How’s your weapon development coming along?”

Tan Yunxi, sensing there was more to it, wisely chose not to inquire further. She enjoyed being treated like a child, so she naturally maintained a persona of simplicity, arrogance, and cuteness.

She said seriously, ”The design of cold weapons is far more complicated than I imagined, completely different from the existing knowledge system of conventional weapons, requiring me to start over from scratch. But I am curious, why do you all insist on not equipping Thunder with any thermal weapons? Although the conductor doesn’t need them, what about the others? If we don’t design it in advance, won’t we have to design it from scratch later?”

Zhou Qing waved his hand, and the carriage lit up with virtual screens like a conference room, formed by a soft light, hovering in the air.

This was a three-dimensional device equipped in all carriages to replace the original screens. Previously, due to hardware limitations, the train could only accommodate those bulky and fragile displays. Once the communication devices improved, they were completely replaced with these more advanced display devices.

Hardware displays still existed, but only in a few key carriages.

”Based on the existing evolutionary speed predictions, thermal weapons have become scarcely effective against Tier Three, but the redundancy design brought by thermal weapon interfaces reduces the overall strength of the Power Armor...”

”Even if it’s not the conductor using it, anyone wanting to use this Power Armor would need to be a Tier Two Defender. For them, the improvements brought by a little structural optimization far outweigh one or two shells.”

Tan Yunxi’s eyes shifted, manipulating the virtual light screen as exoskeletons and Power Armors full of mechanical beauty flashed by.

Currently, the train’s mechanical laboratory divided these wearable combat defensive equipment into three categories.

Exoskeleton: Pure exoskeleton, full cover exoskeleton.

Power Armor: Pure mechanical structure Power Armor, biological Power Armor,

Combat Suit: With mechanical structure, without mechanical structure.

{”There will be more tonight, catching up on yesterday’s updates. I’ve been strangely sleepy lately, sleeping over ten hours a day and still tired.”}
