Armed Train in the Apocalypse

The ”Scavenger” and ”Engineer” series are typical purely mechanical exoskeletons.

The batch obtained from the military factory are full-cover military exoskeletons, characterized by extensive armor coverage, or complete coverage, and airtight sealing. Since the armor is embedded in the skeleton, the structure relies more on the skeleton itself.

The ”Guardian” Power Armor is designed on this basis, being fully enclosed, with thicker armor, stronger energy supply, and higher ammunition capacity.

The battle in the Spore Zone clearly showed that apart from providing additional protection to soldiers, they do little else, yet they excel in conventional combat scenarios such as facing hordes of zombies. As Power Armor built to guard the trains, they are adequate.

Power Armor is a type of mechanized equipment that enhances the wearer’s mobility, protection, and combat effectiveness.

Compared to exoskeletons, its main features lie in ”power” and ”armor”.

The powerful energy core not only enhances the user’s mobility but can also transmit energy through circuits to weapon systems, like Yu Yue’s electromagnetic sniper rifle.

Research in this area has been slow due to the post-apocalyptic changes, and even the military factory obtained at Zhijin only completed some design plans, but technical gaps still exist. The four basic modules constituting Power Armor—organizational framework, power source, control system, function module—currently each have a host of problems urgently needing resolution and adaptation.

Fundamentally, military factory Power Armor is designed according to the physical strength of ordinary soldiers, but now the wearers are Evolvers, requiring adjustments and adaptations, involving a lot of work.

The power source, until Pan Energy research is developed, traditional energy remains the only method, yet sustaining the movement of Power Armor with a battery is already a huge challenge, let alone combat.

The AI control system, function modules... each step is fraught with difficulties.

That’s why Yu Jing says that traditional scientific methods cannot iterate Power Armor even in ten years.

Thus came the use of Fungus Carpet and flesh ”implantation”.

The so-called implantation is a Power Armor integrated with biological structure, which can include Fungus Carpet, moss, flesh, or even the operator itself.

Whereas the combat attire is a newly emerged concept, mainly to distinguish the former two.

The earliest combat attire was the snakeskin tight-fitting clothes worn by Yu Jing, initially only used as an inner layer to facilitate wearing exoskeletons and Power Armor, Shu Wei also wore similar clothing when captured.

The material of the tight-fitting clothes itself is waterproof, fireproof, and cut-resistant, and has certain physical and energy dual defense capabilities, like a scaled-down version of ”Power Armor”. Yu Jing then modified it, mimicking Su Huan’s energy patterns, embedding miniature batteries along the muscle lines at crucial joints of the combat attire, which when activated can provide some assistance to the user.

The principle is similar to ”leg weights”, but the effect is far weaker than that of an exoskeleton.

The combat attire is equipped with many sensors, capable of continuously monitoring the user’s physical state, and contains a miniature medical system, namely various medications, which can be instantly injected if the user’s condition is off.

From this, it is clear that the appearance of combat attire is a unique product created by Yu Jing to monitor her own condition.

Only one exists on the train.

Jumping down from the moving car, several Tier One Zombies fell haphazardly onto the open ground behind the car, and Old Jiang from the manufacturing team led the engineering crew down to cut materials. As the largest sub-department in terms of personnel, the engineering crew not only performs construction work but is also a main force in large-scale material gathering.

However, battlefield collection for efficiency always looks ugly, Yu Jing took a few steps and seeing the ground dyed red in the distance she simply stopped going further, verified her identity getting back onto the car at Car No. 7.

In Car No. 7, the pear trees grow lushly in the middle, bearing over sixty fruits, all green and looking somewhat tart.

Originally these pear trees slightly enhanced Life Force, but after several fruitings, the effect weakened, which troubled Huang Sea greatly, even tried fertilizing with various zombies and mutant beasts, but despite many fruits no Life Force growth effect remained at all. Later obtained some root soil from Li Han’s Crown Pear Tree, and gradually recovered.

Yu Jing bypassed the pear trees, and walked along the small path at the back. A row of blue chubby birds perched on the branches, all bred from those largest two, their crystal-clear eyes reflecting Yu Jing in her White Scale Armor.

Apart from the original plants on both sides, two different colored Fungus Carpets stretched out two rhombus grids in mid-air, with various brilliantly colored mushrooms growing on them, not encroaching on the space of the original plants.

Mushrooms like lanterns floated at the top layer, complementing the sweet and spicy onions below.

After so much time of crafting, the car farm has been turned into the second wonder of the train by Huang Sea.

Passing through the farm, Yu Jing did not return to her Mechanical Testing Laboratory, but came to the auxiliary Car No. 16 medical compartment, various medical equipment piled along the wall roots and fixed secured to the walls, with a faint heat lingering in the narrow aisle.

This is the distinct scent belonging to Lin Jin, judging by the lingering time, he should have just left.

And the person inside was also self-evident.

Yu Jing knocked twice, and accompanied by a crisp female voice inside, she pushed open the door and entered.
