Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”So what relationship does Donghuang Heavy Industry have with their East City Association?”

Su Huan’s voice seemed somewhat bemused.

But Jiao Ting didn’t catch on and just shook his head heavily, ”We don’t know about that, but Donghuang Heavy Industry did help their East City Association wipe out a Tier Two Evolution Beast cluster once.”

”At that time, there were more than 150 people, with tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and artillery...”

”How do you think they compare to my subordinates?”

Su Huan asked.

Jiao Ting carefully compared and hesitated, ”Your team is also strong, but they have a lot of equipment, and it’s not just for show. They have ammunition, and I heard that was just one of their combat companies.”

”That was half a year ago. Now Donghuang Heavy Industry must be even stronger.”

”It’s not that I’m old Jiao and afraid of things, I just don’t wish for you to blindly get into trouble with them...”

The short, sturdy man advised earnestly.

”Thank you then.”

Su Huan smiled faintly and gave Qu Hang a look.

The latter clearly felt the murderous intent in the train conductor’s eyes and didn’t hesitate further, turning around to issue orders.

Two ”manipulators” directly lifted the frozen soil, tossing more than a hundred East City Association members down, people and dirt rolling into the pit together. This classical scene instantly sent chills down many spines, with curses, cries, and pleas for mercy all intertwined.

Jiao Ting grew anxious upon seeing this and wanted to step forward but was held back by the giraffe with a smiling face.

Reassuring him, ”This is evil punishing evil, just a bunch of beasts.”

Jiao Ting’s mind went blank for a moment, was this how the saying was used?

But there was no time to argue, and he urged, ”The main concern is this is only part of the East City Association. If Donghuang Heavy Industry finds out, you’ll be in trouble. Don’t be fooled by your numbers and the sturdy train, the other side has a real army.”

”No worries, if Donghuang Heavy Industry comes, the train conductor will handle them properly.”

Large chunks of soil had already been thrown down, filling the pit with cries of agony. Seeing the events unfolding, Jiao Ting internally sighed, hoping Su Huan would finish quickly and leave, not allowing Donghuang Heavy Industry to catch them.

He quite liked this young man – handsome, could hold his liquor. Most importantly, he could lead such a large team in the apocalypse, he seemed like an excellent leader. If he hadn’t had a son himself, he’d consider him as a son-in-law.

The land was quickly leveled, leaving only a group of decrepit ”bait,” who had lost their bodily functions due to prolonged torture, most of them barely hanging on.

Those in slightly better mental states were some abducted women, clad in thin fabrics, or even naked, shivering in the biting cold.

From not far away came the short and eerie howl of Longyan, causing another wave of chills among the people.

Some of them desperately tried to showcase their bodies, but didn’t see lust in the soldiers’ eyes around them, sinking deeper into anxiety after losing their last form of dependence.

”That person ran quickly, but the direction is towards the floating land of the East City Association. Should we go and capture him back?”

The mongoose appeared silently beside Su Huan and asked in a low voice.

”Don’t bother with it then.”

The East City Association is just a small fry, unrelated to his goal. As for the dirty deeds they’ve done, he neither likes nor dislikes it. Strictly speaking, the armed train is far more egregious than the East City Association.

Or rather, every major power that survives till now is stained with guilt.

Everyone is in the same darkness, no one is qualified to judge others on the pretense of justice.

Su Huan walked up to one of the bait, this was a woman, around forty but her appearance and life force had severely declined, her skin and flesh hanging from her skeletal frame, twitching – yet she was the one with the strongest life force here. If fed and cared for, she might recover some semblance of a human form.

Even as Su Huan stood in front of her, her eyes had no reaction, dark and silent.

”Do you still want to live?”

Su Huan asked earnestly.

After a while, there was no response, only her weak breaths scattered by the wind.

”Hmm, I see.”

Su Huan raised his finger and lightly tapped the woman’s forehead.

A bright flash of electric light disappeared in an instant, and those eyes oppressed by countless pains suddenly became much clearer, perhaps only illuminated by lightning for a brief moment, then darkened forever.

Like the night briefly lit up.

Su Huan crouched down and asked the same question to another teenager.

Still no response.

The lightning was reflected in the mongoose’s golden pupils, its large eyes filled with deep confusion.

”...Why?”

”Su has always been this kind of person, you just haven’t seen it.”

A tall power armor silently appeared beside the mongoose, with Xiaoba’s youthful voice coming from inside.

Su Huan didn’t know his actions left the mongoose bewildered, but even if he knew, he wouldn’t care.

He didn’t care about others’ dislike of him, naturally he didn’t care about others’ fondness. Till today, he still couldn’t fully understand why Lu Xiao chose to die, why Zhou Qing decided to establish a school, why Ma Hongyu wanted to stay, and the complex entanglement between them.

Just like they didn’t understand Su Huan’s obsession with the truth.

They called it ideals, but Su Huan preferred to understand it as the freedom of a strong will, unrestrained, unbound.

It was precisely this freedom of will that made him the strongest after the apocalypse.

So as long as he thought about it, he’d do it.

He wouldn’t attach any seemingly appropriate reasons to his actions, nor would he bind himself with contrary reasons.

In total, sixteen bait, thirteen chose death, two chose life, but one of them had long been eroded into an empty shell, bringing him back would only turn him into a special display in Director Xu’s lab. Su Huan ignored his request and sent him away, leaving only one.

A man emaciated beyond recognition, like a ghost with consumption.

As for the five women who were ravaged, they still wanted to live.

Those who didn’t have the will to survive couldn’t have lasted till now.

When Su Huan stood up, Qu Hang, reeking of blood, also approached and reported concisely, ”The target is in a brick factory ten kilometers away, about two hundred people. The purpose of the East City Association is to lure us into a battle with the other party.”

”Is there no instigator?”

”It was proposed by Wei Dong, he doesn’t know much else, and Donghuang Heavy Industry only connected with Wei Dong, he temporarily grabs a tiger skin to survive.”

Su Huan sorted out the existing information, and had to admit, the people from Deep Blue Data were very formidable this time.

All sorts of true and false information made it difficult for him to see clearly.

But one thing was certain, even if Deep Blue Data, Donghuang Heavy Industry, and Gunfire formed an alliance, he could skin them.

This confidence stems from the power of evolution.

In contemplation, Su Huan directed his senses to the exact position ten kilometers away, searched for a moment, but couldn’t perceive the presence of these people, they seemed to have the ability like Tong Zizhan’s, large-scale sensory shielding.

Suddenly, explosions and flames appeared in front, distinctly noticeable in the pitch-black night.

After pondering for a moment, Su Huan commanded, ”Take your men and move slowly from behind, later, no matter which force you encounter, do not hold back, strike them down first then talk.”

Qu Hang’s expression turned earnest, ”Yes!”

After Su Huan finished instructing, lightning flashed beneath his feet, and he disappeared into the night.

Without the army, he could truly let loose.

The fierce wind whistled past his ears, the skill transformed energy into perfectly suitable electric currents, driving his muscles to burst forth more speed and power.

Ever since he mastered energy rules, ”Pan-energy Transformation” still maintained its level 10, but the conversion efficiency often exceeded 100%, regularly converting one part energy into one and a half, or two parts.

And this was done casually; if he seriously tried, the ratio could double.

Hence Su Huan’s real destructive force is still doubled compared to the total energy of level 13.
