Chapter 1245: Chapter 421: Misjudgment

”Lord Rein, the opponent is the ’Multi-Armed’ Pearce from the Limb Attachment Cult. Be careful of his blood witchcraft and third hand.” Baldwin sighed in relief upon seeing Rein’s arrival and said.

”Also, that box...” Baldwin raised his hand to point at the leather box on the distant ground and said.

Although he didn’t explicitly say it, Rein naturally understood the implication. The box contained the Rift Closer, of critical importance.

Rein nodded and said, ”Lord Baldwin, don’t worry, leave this to me. Tend to your wounds.”

While speaking, Rein sized up his opponent, ’Multi-Armed’ Pearce.

The opponent had removed his hood, revealing a relatively delicate face, thin lips, and a sinister expression.

Meanwhile, several streams of flowing blood-red water encircled the outside of his Wizard Robe, seemingly a defensive innate wizardry.

But more strikingly, he held a dual-handed greatsword exuding a faint red glow.

Rein immediately understood that the opponent might not be merely a Third Level Crystalized Wizard but possibly also trained in the Knight Path or something akin to an Elemental Knight.

”It seems this box is very important to your Dragan Empire, isn’t it?”

”This makes me increasingly curious.”

Pearce naturally heard Baldwin’s words. As he sized up Rein, he glanced at the box on the ground with a taunting smile.

”Oh? That might not be a good thing. Haven’t you heard the saying?” Rein smiled lightly.

”Hmm? What saying?”

”Curiosity killed the cat,” Rein smiled slightly and said.

Just as the smile froze on Pearce’s face and he was about to say something, a series of heavy ”thud thud thud” footsteps approached rapidly, causing quite a commotion!

Simultaneously, the continuous sound of breaking branches in the forest and the calls of many unknown beasts and birds were heard.

Rein knew well who was coming—it was the Areda sisters riding the Demon Statues. Given the statues’ weight of over twenty tons, the noise from running naturally drew attention.

But Pearce didn’t know this.

Pearce’s face turned serious, seemingly worried that the newcomers might be more reinforcements from the Empire’s side.

At that moment, the beautiful Areda and Ailida sisters charged out from the forest riding on two improved Hellfire Demon Statues.

Seeing the appearance of the two women, Pearce was not dismayed but delighted!

Looking at Rein and then at Baldwin, he smiled, saying, ”It seems you’re not the only one with reinforcements; so do I!”

Though Pearce was momentarily surprised that the ’Twin Snakes’ sisters ranked third among the Twelve Secret Serpent Envoys of the Secret Snake Sect had obtained Metal Magic Statues, he remained unconcerned.

As for the origin of the statues, he assumed it was due to thorough preparation by them.

Moreover, the most crucial point was that the two women were from the Secret Snake Sect, naturally his allies and reinforcements.

The arrival of ’allies’ seemed to lighten Pearce’s mood, sparking a brilliant stratagem in his mind.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Baldwin, the severely injured captain of the Military Department’s squad, paled further from excessive blood loss, for he was familiar with the Secret Snake Sect. Though he had never faced certain top-tier figures, he had at least heard of them.

The Areda sisters before him, nicknamed ’Twin Snakes,’ were feared to be no less powerful than the ’Multi-Armed’ Pearce from the Limb Attachment Cult.

Despite having just seen the news on the thin plate, stating that the young Lord Rein before him was a Legendary Strongman from the Empire Swordsmen Organization. He had also heard of some of Rein’s achievements.

However, the problem was, if it were just the ’Multi-Armed’ Pearce, it might be manageable.

But now, with the addition of the ’Twin Snakes’ Areda sisters, he had no confidence in the seemingly youthful Rein being able to withstand them....

’Damn, to avoid being an Empire’s traitor this time, I can only risk everything.’ Baldwin’s face turned solemn as he silently clutched a bottle of red potion from his bosom, ready to use it at any moment.

’However, the first task is naturally to warn the young Lord Rein.’

”Lord Rein, be careful! Those two women are the ’Twin Snakes’ from the Secret Snake Sect!” Baldwin said solemnly.

And as soon as Baldwin’s words fell, suddenly, Pearce moved, charging at Rein!

With a wave of his hand, the three streams of blood-red fluid that originally surrounded him shot towards Rein like blood snakes, with Pearce closely following, brandishing his greatsword in a Smooth Cleaving Slash!

”Steel Armor Technique!”

”Boom boom boom!”

As a layer of silver metallic defense coated Rein, the attacks of the three blood snakes were all deflected, returning futilely.

However, the blood snakes’ attack was merely a smokescreen, with the follow-up Smooth Cleaving Slash being the true strike.

”Clang!!!”

Rein raised his hand, and the Hardened Essence Gold also morphed into a dual-handed greatsword, blocking the opponent’s slash!

The fierce collision caused both their figures to tremble slightly.

Rein hadn’t expected such tremendous strength from Pearce’s seemingly lean body—in terms of sheer strength, ’Multi-Armed’ Pearce surpassed Barnes.

While Pearce’s eyes flickered, for it was his first encounter with someone who could completely block one of his strikes without moving a muscle.

Furthermore, there was Rein’s witchcraft.

’A Metal Series Witchcraft?’

’That’s quite rare.’

Yet, having his attack perfectly blocked by Rein, Pearce was not discouraged.
