Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys

Chapter 1204: Chapter 406: Dragon Valley (Part 4)

“Mentor, is there anything I can help with?” Rein proactively said.

“Hmm? Is it so quiet over at the Sword Bearer’s side?”

“Since you have time, it couldn’t be better. You need to make two cannon barrels and then engrave them. I was actually planning to trouble Bradley with this task.”

During the chat, Mogaro picked up a bottle of strong liquor, took a couple of gulps, and said.

“Okay, Mentor.” Rein naturally accepted Mentor Mogaro’s arrangement.

After all, the reason for the other’s busyness was because of his demon statue. It was only right that he did something.

“Good day, Lord Rein!” Audrey and Alicia immediately saluted Rein.

“Mmm, Audrey, Alicia, thank you for your hard work.” Rein smiled slightly and said.

Since Rein had advanced to a Third Level Crystallized Wizard, his innate wizardry, the Metal Morphing Spell, had become more precise than before. In just a few minutes, he had completed crafting the two cannon barrels.

This left Mogaro, who was watching from the side, almost dumbfounded!

It’s known that cannons require utmost precision.

Moreover, although the cannon barrels are made of metal, they are a special alloy steel, and it’s more than twice as difficult to morph them with the Metal Morphing Spell compared to ordinary steel.

Even Deputy Sect Leader Bradley at the early stage of Third Level Crystalization would take an entire day to craft them.

But who would have thought that his disciple Rein could complete it in just a few minutes.

Is this… a natural gift for creating puppets?

“In that case, we can finish today.” Mogaro said.

“Uh… Mentor, if I help, how long would it take to make a modified version of the Hellfire Demon Statue?” Rein asked.

“Hmm? Do you have a tricky task recently?” With these words from his proud disciple, Mogaro immediately sensed something.

“Uh… not really, but I’ve participated in the Dragon Knight Reserve examination, and I might need it later.” Rein thought for a moment, ultimately not mentioning the task but merely referring to the Dragon Knight assessment.

“Dragon Knight?” Mogaro smacked his lips a few times, finally resignedly shaking his head and sighing.

“A Dragon Knight in their twenties… It’s been so many years since the Empire had a genius like you.”

“However, being too dazzling isn’t necessarily a good thing!”

“Dragon Knight?!” Upon hearing this, the voluptuous Alicia was so stunned she felt dizzy.

Could this strongest junior of their school soon become a Dragon Knight?

Even Audrey was momentarily shocked by Rein’s words.

It should be known that although Rein was previously powerful and prestigious, compared to a Dragon Knight, in the eyes of the Empire’s people, a Sword Bearer was still a completely different league.

The difference is as vast as between a Baron and a Duke!

…

With Rein’s involvement, the progress of crafting this improved version of the Hellfire Demon Statue advanced by leaps and bounds.

By that evening, it was almost completed.

Mogaro dusted his hands and said, “Rein, it’s about done. Now we can test it.”

“However, the consumption of spiritual power is greater than before. You need to be a bit mindful of that.”

Although this reminder was somewhat redundant, Rein felt warm within his heart: “Understood, Mentor.”

At this moment, the improved version of the Hellfire Demon Statue was much larger than its predecessor, especially with two additional round black cannon barrels on its shoulders.

The barrels weren’t long, as they were not meant to release traditional artillery shells but rather fireballs and shadow arrows.

Additionally, due to the increase in size, the thickness of the outer shell was significantly enhanced, particularly at the joints where the metal protection almost doubled.

Meanwhile, three small furnace devices were distributed across the back of the golem, intended to power the two cannon barrels, the chest cannon, and the entire body’s operation.

As the activation technique’s spell resounded, a thumb-thick earthy-yellow beam of light shone on the improved Hellfire Demon Statue before them.
