Chapter 1211: Chapter 408: Divine Favored_3

The situation he feared the most had occurred.

The speed at which Rein’s power was increasing was simply too fast.

Judging from the previous battle records, Rein should have gone through intense combat, possibly even a tough battle, to kill the ‘Carver’ Harold.

But now, how did he defeat Carl, who was nearly as strong as Harold, with just one move?

How long has it been?

It seems that Rein’s power has taken another leap.

It looks like some actions must be taken; there’s no time for hesitations!

….

Half an hour later.

Inside the Second Prince’s study.

“Oh? They refused?” The Second Prince, Everton, gently stroked a white pet that resembled a large cat and spoke calmly.

“Yes, Your Highness, and…” Buchanan hesitated in his demeanor.

Having served as the Second Prince’s steward for years, Buchanan was well acquainted with his master’s habits, and his current expression was just an act.

It seemed that the Prince had a particular admiration for this Rein.

It might be due to his age or his achievements in battle. Even though Rein’s Dragon Bloodline was mentioned before, the Prince’s strategy was primarily to recruit him.

But today, Rein’s attitude somewhat infuriated Buchanan.

Of course, there was another reason — Duke Drum had contacted him twice, asking him to discreetly paint Rein in a negative light in front of the Prince.

“And what else?” Everton asked.

“Furthermore, from his words, this Rein doesn’t seem very respectful to Your Highness. Additionally, he’s suspicious about the purpose of the Dragon Scale Brotherhood,” Buchanan continued.

“I’m worried, if we can’t draw Rein in, as his status among the Sword Bearers rises, it might lead the Imperial Swordsmen to further…”

Buchanan did not finish his sentence.

Upon hearing this, Everton stopped petting the white lynx in his hands.

Because what Buchanan mentioned was precisely a point he was very concerned about.

For the past two years, with Alfred in control of the Imperial Swordsmen, this staunch reformist had been unfriendly in his attitude towards the Dragon Scale Brotherhood.

Not just unfriendly, but extremely wary.

If Rein continues to ascend, and one more senior Sword Bearer with views similar to Alfred arises, this heightened wariness might turn into action.

“Your Highness, should we let Rein run into obstacles during the initial Dragon Knight trials?” Buchanan cautiously suggested, seeing the Prince’s long silence.

“No, let him into the retest,” Everton shook his head and replied.

“There are three people from the Dragon Scale Brotherhood participating in the Dragon Knight Reserve selection this time, correct?”

“Yes, Your Highness.”

“Tell them, during their entry into the Secret Realm, besides obtaining the Blood Essence of the Void Dragonling, there’s an additional mission to extract the Blood Essence from Rein,” Everton instructed.

Initially, due to the uniqueness of Rein’s bloodline, Everton wanted to recruit him into the Dragon Scale Brotherhood, to carefully and gradually control him using potions, turning him into a long-term ‘bloodbag.’

But now it seems he can only be treated as a one-time ‘bloodbag.’

“As you command, Your Highness,” Buchanan bowed and replied, with a hint of a smile forming on his down-turned face.

…

At the Bixiu Mechanization School premise.

With Rein’s involvement, the progress on the second modified Hellfire reached nearly halfway in a day.

At this rate, two days later, before the Dragon Knight assessment, the second modified Hellfire would be ready.

As night fell, when Rein returned to his residence, in the southeast of Imperial City Tamriel, at the famous Falling Star Lake area, something was quietly happening.

As the name suggests, the ‘Falling Star’ in Falling Star Lake points to its origin.

It’s said that the lake suddenly formed due to a meteor falling from the sky.

Of course, this rumor isn’t entirely unfounded.

Many enthusiasts even measured the lake’s depth, finding out that several parts of this inland lake exceed a thousand meters deep, which is extremely rare.

Over time, the name Falling Star Lake was retained.

Around the lake, there are many scattered lakeside villas.

In front of a secluded lakeside villa, the Falling Star Lake’s waters rhythmically lapped against the shore like waves.

Under the sparse moonlit sky, with careful observation, one might notice that a section connecting the water from the villa had a sewer of over two meters in diameter.

Clearly, the nearly two-meter size of the sewer is unusual.

At this moment, four bubble-shrouded figures were carrying a Crystal Coffin, straight from the sewer into the lakeside villa.

Quickly, four hooded figures emerged from the basement winery’s pool area inside the villa.

The four carefully carried out the Crystal Coffin and placed it nearby. Then, they respectfully bowed towards a group of Sea Beast-emblazoned-robed black robe figures who had been waiting for a while:

“Great Priest Carletis, the Divine Favored has been delivered.”

“Hmm, well done,” nodded Carletis, the High Priest of the Sea God Sect, shifting her attention to the Crystal Coffin.

Inside, a dignified woman lay asleep with her fingers interlocked over her abdomen.

If Rein were present and took a good look at her face, he’d surely find an indescribable familiarity, even though she didn’t look quite like the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, the more he looked, the more similarity he felt.

The Divine Favored is also known as the Chosen One.

Specifically, they possess a unique constitution, born with certain special abilities. However, some abilities may require reaching adulthood or transcending to awaken.

But regardless, their extraordinary abilities earn them the title of Chosen Ones, Divine Favored.

However, for all sects, the greatest significance of the Divine Favored lies in their being ideal vessels for Divine possession.

For instance, Staven, who attacked Rein last time, had a constitution quite close to that of a Divine Favored, but merely close.

If he were truly the Divine Favored of the Spider God Neuubrekkan, after possession, the extent of the power boost would far surpass that of Staven’s body.

But the issue is that different deities favor different types of Divine Favored, whose constitutions vary greatly. To find those who meet the conditions among the vast populace is an extremely daunting task, akin to finding a needle in a haystack.

So, the value of the current Divine Favored is self-evident!
