Chapter 1224: Chapter 413: Teleportation and Mutation_3

Now, these fierce species have mutated, naturally becoming even harder to deal with.

“Lord Rein, Olena, I have other matters, so I must take my leave. By the way, the special communication device is rather complicated to make and takes a considerable amount of time, so please ensure you store it properly.”

“Okay, Lord Tatia.”

…

Two days passed by in the blink of an eye.

The day of the re-examination.

The Star Mage’s Platform at the northwest corner of the Imperial Palace was heavily guarded.

In the sky, dozens of airships densely scattered, with squads of Griffin Knights interspersed among them.

On the ground, every five steps was a sentinel, every ten steps a patrol, all guarded by the Imperial Guard.

At this moment, Lord Rein and the other candidates participating in the re-examination were in the celestial hall on the Star Mage’s Platform.

“…Ladies and gentlemen, next, Grand Astromancer Lord Dalain will announce the standards for the re-examination evaluation.”

Only to see an elderly man with a nearly one-meter long white goatee, dressed in a gray robe, holding a wooden staff, and smiling as he walked to the front of the crowd.

Huh?

Lord Rein raised his eyebrows.

As the name suggests, Astrologers are Wizards who excel in astrology and prophecy-related witchcraft, generally not strong in individual combat.

If a First Level Wizard excels in astrology, they can naturally be called an Astrologer.

Similarly, if a First Level Wizard excels in divination skill, they can also be called a Diviner.

But Grand Astromancer usually refers to the Third Level Crystallized Wizard and above, after all, astrology also requires powerful spiritual power as support.

The stronger the spiritual power, the higher the accuracy of astrology.

However, it seems now that Grand Astromancer Lord Dalain is at least at the level of a Dawn Wizard, perhaps even stronger.

Because the person appeared in front of him, yet Lord Rein could hardly perceive the person’s presence.

Additionally, he wasn’t hearing this name for the first time; Cleya had previously mentioned a prophecy made by this person.

The gist was that the current turmoil in the Empire is merely the beginning.

Lord Rein remembered this clearly.

“Later, the Empire’s Grand Astromancers will open the ancient teleportation array leading to the Dragon Valley Secret Realm.”

“At that time, you will enter this realm which is crucial to the Empire, and you will witness those renowned giant dragons, of course, the young ones.”

“Your task this time is to gain the approval of one juvenile giant dragon. Help them resolve a challenge, and they will bestow upon you a Dragon Language Mark.”

“A challenge?” Lord Rein showed contemplation.

Many below started whispering quietly as well.

Most people were unsure about what this challenge specifically represented.

Obviously, Grand Astromancer Lord Dalain heard the murmuring from below, and stroked his beard, chuckling:

“Resolving the challenge is actually easy to understand. Let me give an example; young giant dragons need to hunt for blood meals, so if you help them capture a desired prey, you’ll win their favor.”

“Generally speaking, one or two hunts can secure a Dragon Language Mark.”

So that’s it.

Upon hearing Dalain’s explanation, everyone showed an expression of realization and relief.

In this regard, obtaining the Dragon Language Mark does not seem difficult.

“Since the final assessment only has six slots, naturally, the more marks the better.”

“The person with the most marks will have a higher chance of gaining favor upon returning, because you helped their offspring.”

Upon hearing this, all the candidates, including Lord Rein, understood thoroughly.

Obtaining a single Dragon Language Mark individually isn’t difficult; the key lies in securing as many marks as possible to rank among the top six.

“By the way, here’s a small tip: I suggest you select a specific lineage of giant dragon for the task.”

“For example, choosing a Red Dragon means you should continue choosing offspring of the Red Dragon.”

“Mixed Dragon Language Marks of different lineages are slightly less effective than single-lineage marks.” Grand Astromancer Lord Dalain smiled gently, and added.

“Finally, you all only have twenty-four hours in total, and when the time is up, the just applied teleportation mark will forcibly pull you back.”

“This is also to ensure your safety.”

“Additionally, Void Beasts have appeared in the Secret Realm, so everyone needs to stay alert while performing tasks.”

…

As the precautions were explained.

Everyone passed through the heavily guarded circular corridor, entering deeper underground. Soon, including Lord Rein, the candidates arrived at a vast underground hall.

Once inside the hall, the first thing they saw was a roughly twenty-meter-high ancient stone arch standing in the center.

The arch was rectangular, with its top and frame made of a dark stone material, intricately carved with complex and mysterious patterns, resembling electric currents that occasionally flashed through them.

Even from over a hundred meters away, a wave of ancient and mysterious aura washed over them.

“Is this the ancient teleportation gate to the Dragon Valley Secret Realm?” Lord Rein examined the ancient stone arch with amazement.

The other candidates also showed expressions of wonder.

At this moment, Grand Astromancer Lord Dalain, accompanied by five elderly men, arrived in front of the stone arch.

“Wow~ Five Dawn Wizards!”

“What a grand gesture!”

…

Soon, with a powerful surge of witchcraft energy, the five Dawn Wizards stood in a five-pointed star formation, and from the massive witch array at their feet, a pillar of energy as thick as a water barrel blasted toward the ancient stone gate!

In an instant, an unusual curtain of light suddenly appeared within the stone arch.

The crowd could clearly see the scene beyond.

Stars twinkled, a brilliant starry sky, it seemed the Dragon Valley Secret Realm was immersed in nighttime.

“All candidates, enter orderly.” A commander from the Imperial Guard shouted.

As Lord Rein and thirty other candidates entered the light gate one by one.

Suddenly, three groups appeared beside the hall, including three dressed as Sword Bearers, a four-person squad in military department attire, and three in Imperial Guard uniforms.

Moreover, each of the three squads had someone holding a suitcase-like object.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please enter as well.”

The people nodded in agreement.

Just as they were about to enter, suddenly, a powerful energy fluctuation surged from afar.

The energy was so strong, it was nearly equivalent to the witchcraft energy fluctuation of opening the realm.

This couldn’t help but make everyone present turn to look southeast of the Imperial City.

There, was the direction the energy came from!

“This is….” A Dawn Wizard within the five-pointed star formation, with hair and beard all white, showed contemplation.

“No, the opponent is forcibly connecting to our teleportation channel.” Suddenly, his eyes widened in shock.

“Hurry! You must enter quickly!”

“We must end the teleportation array here immediately.”

Upon hearing the elder’s words, the three groups exchanged glances, then immediately rushed into the Secret Realm.

“No, stopping here is not enough; the opponent has already connected to the Secret Realm. We must send people immediately to break their teleportation.” Grand Astromancer Lord Dalain’s face darkened, he declared.
