Chapter 1219: Chapter 412: Tidal Eightfold Slash

However, Rein thought back and remembered what Cleya had reminded him of earlier.

The Second Prince Everton was not as amiable as he appeared on the surface. If compared to an animal, perhaps... a viper would be more appropriate.

The other party must be waiting for a certain opportunity....

Rein’s eyes flickered, as if he had thought of something.

At this moment, the next candidate began to enter the arena, drawing Rein’s attention back to the field.

The ensuing battles were full of anticipation, and at the same time, they allowed Rein to further understand the powerful families of the Empire, the various Wizard Schools, and the Sword Saint Schools’ offspring and disciples.

Halowin’s drawn opponent was the Hurricane Element.

Although he eventually managed to deal with it successfully, his performance was not much different from Luther’s, hovering around the pass line.

...

”Next, please welcome number eighty-one, Lambert to the stage.” the attendant shouted.

A middle-aged man, with a Dual-Handed Greatsword on his back, stood with arms crossed, slowly flying towards the front of the arena on a rare flying sea ray.

Indeed!

He was standing, not riding.

Earlier, when Rein scanned the surroundings, he had noticed this person because the middle-aged man’s gaze had lingered behind him for a while. But at that time, Rein did not pay much attention.

For candidates like these, carrying a Dual-Handed Greatsword and walking the Knight Path, were relatively common in the preliminary trials.

Though there were powerful ones among them, their strengths varied greatly.

Sometimes, four or five consecutive battles couldn’t see a Legendary Level knight candidate finish off an opponent within three minutes.

But upon hearing the name Lambert, Rein’s eyes immediately narrowed.

Because he instantly recalled that Carl, the disciple of the Tide Sword Saint, had mentioned someone by that name before, also named Lambert.

While there are many people with the same name in the world, Rein instinctively felt that this Lambert before him was the same one Carl had spoken of.

”I never thought Lambert would come too.” Luther said solemnly beside him.

”Oh? Luther, do you know him?” Halowin asked curiously.

”Yes, remember Carl?” Luther responded.

”I remember, he was the Tide Sword Saint’s disciple defeated by Lord Rein, right?” Halowin nodded.

”Hmm, this is the Tide Sword Saint’s first disciple, Lambert.”

”What! So it’s him.” Halowin’s face changed, exclaiming in a low voice.

Immediately, he looked towards Rein beside him.

Obviously, to Halowin, the appearance of Lambert might be targeting Rein.

But Rein remained calm, nodded, and said, ”Looks like I guessed right.”

On the field, Lambert’s roulette opponent was the Shadow Vulture, a fierce species with Shadow Type talent ability.

After the roulette draw, Lambert still stood with arms crossed, staying on the flying sea ray, slowly heading towards the center of the arena.

”Chirp~”

At this moment, the thick metal grille beside the field lifted up, and a massive eagle-like creature, pitch-black with black currents swirling around it, screeched as it rushed out.

Its wingspan exceeded eight meters, with an incredibly fast flying speed.

”Shadow Vulture, fast flying speed, strong defense and attack power, just right to observe Lambert’s strength changes.”

”The last time I saw him was five years ago. Even if I compared my strength now, I would not be his match then.” Luther said in a deep voice.

Luther’s words naturally piqued Rein’s interest.

At this moment, the Shadow Vulture discovered Lambert in the center of the field, flapped its wings, and rushed towards the Tide Sword Saint’s first disciple.

Yet Lambert remained with arms crossed, standing calmly on the flying sea ray, not even drawing the greatsword on his back, behaving as if the Shadow Vulture was not worth noticing.

”Isn’t this a bit reckless?” Halowin muttered softly.

He felt Lambert was overconfident.

Suddenly, there was a change in the field.

As if it had received its master’s command, the flying sea ray carrying Lambert with arms crossed also rushed towards the incoming Shadow Vulture.

Just as the two were about to collide!

Suddenly, Lambert’s right hand swiftly drew the greatsword from behind, slashing forward, instantly causing seven or eight silver arcs of light to burst from the Shadow Vulture’s location.

The arcs were vertical, horizontal, and lateral, all flashing by in an instant!

In the next second, the two barely passed each other.

And at this moment, Lambert still maintained his arms crossed stance, the Dual-Handed Greatsword had somehow returned to his back, as if it had never been drawn.

As for the Shadow Vulture, it seemed to be under some sort of paralysis witchcraft, its wings outstretched and unmoving, falling diagonally towards the ground.

But before it hit the ground, a series of hissing sounds emanated from its body!

The Shadow Vulture’s entire body shot out seven or eight blood arrows simultaneously, and in the next moment, it disintegrated in mid-air!

And among the onlookers, there was an immediate outburst of exclamations.

”Sss~ This is the Tidal Eight-Stage Slash!”

”The Top Secret Technique created by the Tide Sword Saint in his youth?”

”Yes, this is the Tide Sword Saint’s first disciple, Lambert.”

”Previously I heard he was in intense seclusion, didn’t expect he would also join this Dragon Knight Reserve selection.”

...

Rein saw clearly, in that instant, Lambert slashed eight times in total, the speed of the sword was the fastest among all he had seen.

It should be noted that Lambert used the comparatively heavier Dual-Handed Greatsword, not a lighter single-handed sword like the Knight’s Longsword or Bastard Sword.
