Chapter 1234: Chapter 416: Fusion (Part 4)

”Of course.” Grand Astromancer Dalain nodded and waved his hand.

The image in the elliptical stone platform changed once again.

This time, however, everyone was taken aback!

Because in the current scene, it was clear that two female cultists were lying on the ground, seemingly just defeated.

Yet, two obviously allied individuals were now engaged in combat.

No wonder Tatia was calling repeatedly, and Rein didn’t respond.

Because even if there was a message, the communication device only vibrated slightly, it wouldn’t sound an alarm; in the heat of battle, naturally, one wouldn’t notice.

”Who is this person?” Augustus said with noticeable anger.

”It’s Barnes! A member of the Empire’s special division, the Earthshaker headquarters, who possesses the Red Dragon Bloodline. After transforming into a dragon-man, his strength is at the Legendary Peak level.”

”The opponent has extremely rich combat experience and has completed dozens of high-difficulty tasks for the Earthshaker over more than ten years.” Tatia reported skillfully once again.

”Is that so, General Gobel?” Augustus immediately looked at an elderly man in an army general’s uniform beside him.

The old man’s forehead was seen sweating; he nodded and said:

”Major General Tatia is right. The opponent is personnel from the Earthshaker headquarters. Before this task, I contacted Barnes, but the opponent politely declined, saying he wouldn’t participate in this selection.”

”But later, he decided to participate on the final day before the selection ended; however, by that time, we had already chosen personnel.”

”The question is, why would this Barnes clash with Lord Rein?” Augustus asked puzzled.

”Well...” General Gobel’s old face flushed red, not knowing how to explain the issue for a moment.

”Uh... Sir, according to our intelligence, the opponent seems to have joined a secret organization, the Dragon Scale Brotherhood, and recently, it is said the Dragon Scale Brotherhood also tried to recruit Lord Rein.” Tatia blinked her beautiful eyes and said timely.

”Hmm?” Marshal Alfred and Augustus exchanged a glance but tacitly didn’t say anything further.

Clearly, both knew what kind of organization the Dragon Scale Brotherhood was and thought of the one behind it.

But even regarding the Dragon Scale Brotherhood, they hadn’t heard before that the opponent had any connections with the cult organization.

”Oh no, both have transformed!” Tatia exclaimed.

In the current scene, Rein and Barnes suddenly each transformed into dragon-men.

After Barnes’s transformation, his physique closely resembled Rein’s, but the dragon horns on his forehead and the color of the Dragon Scale on the skin differed significantly, one red, the other dark gray, and they instantly began to battle.

Even though the two in dragon-man form did not use weapons, their strong limbs and sharp dragon claws were no less than holding blades.

Rein’s body was covered by Steel Armor, while Barnes’s body also shimmered with red Witchcraft Light, one of his talent abilities post-transformation, the Flame Armor.

”Bang!”

Barnes delivered a downward claw strike, which Rein blocked with his raised elbow, causing a wave of red mixed with silvery-gray to explode from the point of clash.

The sound was as if a great bell and chime had struck!

The true master shows his skill with the first move.

With just one strike, Barnes’s expression changed immediately!

”The opponent’s dragon-man form, how is its strength this formidable! Even stronger than the transformed strength of those with the Black Dragon Bloodline!”

Barnes could confirm that the Rein in front of him was also only in the first stage of transformation.

Yet when Rein took this strike, his arm didn’t budge; Barnes’s claw strike was not only deflected but his palm also felt faintly numb, indicating Rein’s strength was evidently superior.

However, Barnes did not fear but felt a bit excited inside!

Not to mention that Reagan and Bronson were about to arrive here; additionally, he himself had a trump card, not afraid of Rein.
