Chapter 1203: Chapter 406: Dragon Valley (Part 3)

”Nearly, it can increase the growth speed by about three to four times.”

”I see.” Rein raised his eyebrow and said.

No wonder, even accounting for various combat accidental deaths, the number of giant dragons in the entire Empire is still showing a slow upward trend. This is definitely the Empire’s most important secret realm.

It’s important to know that for a typical giant dragon to grow into an adult, it takes about two to three hundred years.

If the growth speed is quadrupled, it means that in fifty to sixty years, the Empire will have a giant dragon with epic level battle power.

”The current issue is that some unusual phenomena have appeared within the secret realm, the Grand Astromancers have observed with special witchcraft devices that some young and adolescent dragons inside have gone berserk, resulting in attacks on their fellow dragons.”

”Moreover, in the past year, the situation has become increasingly severe, and the cause has been preliminarily identified. The secret realm’s special spatial structure has led to a monster known as the void beast invading.”

”They have infected the young and adolescent dragons, drastically changing their temperament, and gradually mutating their bodies.”

”Currently, we refer to these mutated dragons as void dragons.”

”So, what’s the mission this time?” Rein thought for a moment and asked.

”Firstly, it is to purge these young dragons already infected by the void beasts, as there is currently no way to reverse it.”

”Secondly, activate and set three special devices within the secret realm to reinforce the protection of the secret realm.”

”There’s another issue, General Augustus, since this matter is so important, why not let the Imperial Guardian enter the secret realm?” Rein questioned, puzzled.

”Once individual power within the secret realm exceeds the legendary level, the realm itself repels them. Also, we have considered using certain methods to mask the epic-level power so they can enter, but the cost is too high.”

”Understood.” Rein nodded.

”Let me add something. Every time we open the Dragon Valley Secret Realm, it requires five Fourth Level Dawn Wizards to jointly cast the activation witch array, also, the other resources consumed to activate this teleportation witch array are quite valuable.”

”Therefore, it used to be once every five years, but this time, due to the urgent need to eliminate the void beast invasion, the selection for the Dragon Knight Reserve is held ahead of time.”

”One last question. Have these adolescent dragons, infected by void beasts, shown any changes in strength?” Rein asked.

”According to ancient texts, creatures infected by void beasts should show increased strength, and some attack methods will become more peculiar. So, this mission is very difficult.”

Rein nodded.

Indeed, relatively speaking, he was quite familiar with the power of giant dragons.

The strength of adolescent dragons is mostly at the late legendary or legendary peak, combined with the unique physical and talent abilities of giant dragons, their battle power is already very strong.

If you add some mutated abilities, it naturally becomes more troublesome.

This is why ordinary adolescent dragons are no match for infected dragons.

At this moment, Augustus thought for a moment, his expression growing more solemn, ”The more troubling situation is that we have discovered that the cult seems to be aware of the anomalies occurring inside the secret realm.”

”Now, they are mobilizing personnel to gather near the Imperial City. Although we don’t yet know how they plan to interfere with this operation, clearly, they intend to take action.”

”That indeed is a big problem.” Hearing this, Rein’s expression also turned serious.

The situation is, we are exposed, while the enemy is covert. The only thing we know is that they will act, but we don’t know exactly how, making it more passive to respond.

”Therefore, we have assembled a top-tier group of people within the Empire from the legendary level. This operation includes not only us sword bearers but also powerful figures from the Empire Military Department and the Inner Guard of the Elder Council.”

”However, there are still some other uncertain factors.”

”Some uncertain factors from within the Empire. So, Lord Rein, please be fully prepared.” Augustus watched Rein and said.

”Okay, Lord Augustus, I understand.” Rein nodded and replied.

”This contains information about the situation inside the Dragon Valley Secret Realm.” At this moment, Augustus handed Rein a memory crystal and said.

...

After leaving the Sword Holder Headquarters, once seated in the carriage, Rein reviewed the entire matter.

Because the information conveyed by General Augustus this time was a bit overwhelming.

Rein had thought about refusing this mission, but after a brief consideration, understood that actually, once he entered the secret realm, he was passively included in this mission.

Moreover, if the intelligence is true and there are many infected adolescent giant dragons inside, then he has even more reason to go.

In fact, he must actively go, fight for the opportunity to go.

Because those infected adolescent dragons are the material for his promotion.

Since he decided to go, he naturally makes full preparations to enhance his battle power as much as possible.

After thinking about it, Rein instructed the driver to head to the school premises.

Soon, Rein arrived at his mentor, Mogaro’s laboratory.

Upon entering, he immediately noticed that although it had been less than a week, the Hellfire Demon Statue inside the laboratory had basically taken shape.

The progress seemed more than halfway complete, likely benefited from the previous experience in demon statue making.

This time, although many areas were improved, most of the structure remained largely unchanged.

Mogaro, who was originally crouching on the demon statue, saw Rein come in, stood up, and said, ”Rein, it’s estimated that in about three more days, it will be almost done.”
